The one before the BESHory Towers. Easy one for summer: I have dug up a fishing pond in the middle of the Palace, put a roof light over it, got some fishin' sticks and put some Gershwin on. Salad's providing Elderflower Fizz, served by newbs in topless bikinis. Could life be better?

come on Aries, in you get.

What shall we watch?

Ariesgirl · 25/07/2010 16:16

Ouch

What do you call a piano that's fallen down a mineshaft?

A flat miner.

Sigh.

Saladbomb · 25/07/2010 16:19

Ah i liked TTTW (film was a bit pants tho), will see if i can get from the library (once i have paid my over due fines ) Cheese and wine always a winning combo imo. Re the notes, you are grieving, i think its very natural that you would want to hold on to that connection for a while yet, its not pathetic AT ALL.

aries plenty of sympathy to go round so doesn't matter if you were looking for it or not.

Saladbomb · 25/07/2010 16:21

What do you get if you drop a piano on an army base?

A flat major.

:p

saltyair · 25/07/2010 16:24

but there isn't even anything in the notes, it is just some paper. And I have the little piss pot they give you to take to the booking appt. It is all just sitting in the kitchen creating a bad vibe around itself. Am stupid.

Saladbomb · 25/07/2010 16:35

Doesnt matter, is still a physical connection, BUT if its creating a bad vibe then get rid. Or put it away somewhere, if you can't bin it yet. You'll forget about it and come across it later when all this is a distant memory, (probably when you are madly nesting because you are about to drop) and you will have a little chuckle at yourself, or shed a wee tear, cos by then EVERYTHING WILL BE OK

saffronbun · 25/07/2010 16:40

There you go; next time you come across one of those charming people you can put her fag out and shut her up all in one go

I just wanted to add a small note of optimism to cheer the general gloom. I used to work on a maternity ward (am not medical person, I did hearing tests on the newborn baybees). If I had a quid for every time new parents said to me "we never thought it would happen/we were told we'd never be able to/we'd given up" - well, let's just say I heard this a good few times a week, every week. So it does happen, even to people who think it isn't going to. Lots of them.

Pfft, that was far too serious.

Saladbomb · 25/07/2010 16:41

wonder how polly is getting on. I might make some burgers and have a bbq even tho its not sunny here and is actually a bit nippy.... i wonder if i can bbq marrow? hmm...

Saladbomb · 25/07/2010 16:44

oi, i didn't start it. good job i like custard. ;p

saltyair · 25/07/2010 16:44

thanks

Hehe Falcon Crest.....

I don't think I will ever be at the nesting stage. I just don't think it will happen due to some sort of advanced slippery womb syndrome.

Oh god, I'm going to go know before I make myself and you lot vomit with my crazed self indulgence.

MountTheFairy · 25/07/2010 16:45

Hearing tests on newborn baybees? Do elaborate...

Trying to concentrate on dissertation, so a quickie kick in the shin to Aries and a buzwam wobble at Salty.

saltyair · 25/07/2010 16:46

p.s thanks for the fire extinguisher, I'm assuming you're suggesting I smack her round the head with it?

Muser · 25/07/2010 16:59

Salty, it will happen for you. It will. I know at the moment it doesn't feel like it, but it will.

I was convinced after the second time there must be something seriously wrong with me. But it does look like it was really shitty luck. And I am sure it's the same for you. You're luck is going to change my lovely, it is.

saffronbun · 25/07/2010 17:05

Hell yes. Twice. With the blunt end.

Headbanger · 25/07/2010 17:24

Oh Salty . What Muser said. One bout of shitty, shitty luck does not mean it'll never happen for you. A smooch and a deft blow with a copy of Mastering The Tarot. It's neither hardback nor heavy, but was the nearest thing to hand .

Anyone going to see Inception? It bored me verily unto sleep.

Saladbomb · 25/07/2010 17:30

Really? I saw it on friday night and thought it was pretty good, beautiful special effects, good performance from leonardo (although i'd never been a huge fan) strong support cast esp juno girl and that lovely boy from 500 days of summer although I think I need to see it again to see if the plot holes i thought were there were just me missing bits. Needed more Micheal Caine imo. Two of the boys fell asleep tho haha. we'd been for a meal before hand and they had drunk a bit too much grappa.

Headbanger · 25/07/2010 17:36

Funny thing is DetonatedRocket I agree. It was one of those films where I kept nodding off thinking 'Gosh this is good isn't it zzzzzz......'

Ocarina · 25/07/2010 19:00

Think I've just about caught up again, and wanted to say Scorps you can do the bossy headmistress thing at me any time! I'm not worrying about it all, just wondering and my way of dealing with stuff tends to be acquire as much info as possible so will be off to do some googling and getting annoyed that I can't access academic papers any more.

I too bought Her fearful symmetry this week but who knows when I'll get around to reading it. Might try and persuade my book group to pick it then I definitely will.

Salty and Aries I'm going to bang your heads together for thinking irrationally and then give you gin and twirls to make it all better. (The headbanging that is, the sadness and stuff might take a bit more than that).

Can I join the WOOFLing crowd, although I don't have any symptoms unless farting lots counts. I am however 10DPO which is as far as I've ever got, so droid will probably arrive by bedtime. But if it doesn't, how long can I hold out before POAS? (Almost certainly an irrelevant question, but you never know)

RunLyraRun · 25/07/2010 19:23

Running in and out again, just wanted to say to Mountie that I had Hycosy instead of HSG, which is ultrasound guided instead of X-ray. Nothing to do with private vs. NHS, mine was certainly very NHS (waiting room full of pregnant women; even HO commented on the insensitivity of it). I think it's just pot luck as to whether they have the equipment/expertise for Hycosy. I hated it anyway so wouldn't necessarily recommend.

saltyair · 25/07/2010 19:29

In Fearful Symmetry news...I'm up to page 112. it has made me not think about my faulty womb and therefore I deem it to be a success!

Is a bit like Time Traveller's Wife in feeling, but I do sort of think that author may have written Time traveller, then read The Lovely Bones the written this. If you haven't read any of those books plz to ignore my ramblings. If you have plz to also ignore my ramblings.

Have made a round of raspberry daiquiris if anyone is interested.

MountTheFairy · 25/07/2010 19:38

Thanks a lot LuvLyraLuv, I am getting pretty worked up about it, so glad to hear experiences. Why did you hate it? I am seriously menkuling about it and wondering whether to cancel the whole thing and go back to the urologist option, which we bypassed because the (nice) GP said it would take a bit of time and may not bring results, but now am thinking why nuke myself when he is more probably the prob, and shouldn't we deal with him first?

Memememememememememememe.

Sorry, I am running out of the library for the home cooked dinner (he is nice, even though lacking in spunk, innee?) so spilled my answer (and insanity) to Lyra, but will be back tonite to inflict comic violence and ask Oc how long her cycles are...

And for a pre-bed snog and buzwam akshon for wet dreams of course.

I read the Lovely Bones on a long haul flight. Jet lag + constant stream of booze + LB = very embarrassingly blubbering Salad.

Glad its distracting you salty I always find a good book calms me down/ takes me out of myself. You'll also be glad to know both members of the Bomb household have been humming Groove Armada in your honour all afternoon (i started and infected MrB)

saltyair · 25/07/2010 19:48

ahhh..thanks saladdressing that was a come on, right?

I wept through the Lovely Bones without any of your excuses....

MountTheFairy · 25/07/2010 20:25

Done research with friends. In both US and Germany they always do HSG under total anaesthetic. On the NHS (or the equivalent of) and all. More mememe from the iPhone now .

Ocs - farting a lot does count. Most definitely.
