The May Bus

I'm feeling positive about this next cycle. Due rtd tomorrow.

If it's as long as the one I'm just finishing I'll be due sometime in early May so thought I'd do the honours and polish down the bus, stack it full of champagne and nibbles and start the engine!

Who's with me?

loopy it was so lovely. We tried as many of your recommendations as we could fit in. Simmons Park, Meldon Resevoir, Mini Pony Centre, Waie Inn (on the way down). All brilliant. We mis-judged one day trip, thought we could drive to Blackpool Sands in the morning and then pop into Riverfords for an early evening supper on the way back. Highly recommend the Riverfords supper. Was v tasty and they have a bunch of toys the children can play with when the inevitably get bored of sitting at the table. Bude was really easy to get to from where we were and DS far preferred the sandy beach to the shingley one.
Am attempting to catch up on the MC thread...it's taking me a while.

Wondering if I may actually ov slightly earlier than I previously calculated. OPK today looks like an LH surge may be due soon. Interesting.

Morning loopy and anyone else around.

Today I am mainly going to be geocaching... well I'm bored and it seemed like an OK reason for a walk. Will get back later and let you know how I get on!

zinnia · 02/08/2010 09:24

Morning loopy, delilah and everyone else (nice to see so many familiar faces, even if it's a shame we've all ended up on the May bus).

So this morning's question: charting (analogue or digital versions) vs OPKs. Anyone got any recommendations/advice?

I've bought a Boots thermometer n' book set and also signed up to FF (though it scares me a bit) so think I'm going to start charting, but am also wondering about OPKs and whether they're a waste of money and/or likely to start ruling my life.

Hurrah am on the bus proper as AF appeared yesterday, although with all 3 kids screaming at each other and me praying for the end of the school hols,im wondering why im trying for another

delilahbelle · 02/08/2010 14:48

Hi zinnia I am giving OPKs a go this cycle (havn't bothered in the past) I used to temp, but gave up as the rules seemed too strict - you have to take your temp at the SAME TIME every morning, and I like my lie-ins, or sometimes wake up early... It was too much for me and I didn't like TTC being the first thing I thought of each day.

I went for my walk and found a geocache was hugely pleased, may go out and look for some more at some point.

Wednesday's Stats done

Well, after AF being so slow to start, she's buggered off after only 4 days. So SFF cant start early - DH to be kept sweet.

It's our wedding anniversary coming up, so I won't be around much. Lots of nice things planned for a week or so, starting today.

Lib76 · 04/08/2010 09:27

enjoy your week of nice things delilah it's our 5th Anniversary next week so hoping AF will hurry up and we can start swi again!!

zinnia · 04/08/2010 09:37

Have fun delilah, we'll all still be here when you get back!

Thanks for the info about OPKs/charting too, by the way, think I might have to go for the former as I keep forgetting to take my temp before I get out of bed in the mornings.

Wombat33 · 04/08/2010 17:01

Hi all! Welcome to the new joiners. Wow, this bus is filling up!

Zinnia I'm trying to use temping (Boots chart too) and OPKs but my temps are all over the place this month. That said, even though I've taken it as different times as and when I've woken up (and sometimes when I've only been aslleep for 2 hrs after getting up to go to the loo) it seems to have given my a pretty good idea of when I ov and I've only been temping for two and a half months. I'm using OPKs as well this month and they are making me totally paranoid. Am using the digital ones and when the stick malfunctionned on hols over the weekend I made DH find a chemist to buy a new one, and while I was there bought some back-up non-digital ones. The upshot being that I've now spent about £60 this month on OPKs !!! And when I didn't get the smiley face I expected this morning on the digital one (because by my temps I should be oving soon) I did another one early afternoon and got a smiley face then - so they don't seem very reliable unless your testing a couple of times a day and that's seriously expensive! If I don't fall this month, I think I might just try to go au naturel next month, no charting or OPKs and see what happens.

.... who am I fooling ... I'm such a control freak I need to know what's going on!
