The May Bus

I'm feeling positive about this next cycle. Due rtd tomorrow.

If it's as long as the one I'm just finishing I'll be due sometime in early May so thought I'd do the honours and polish down the bus, stack it full of champagne and nibbles and start the engine!

Who's with me?

Hi can i join,i sat out April as DH away(again) so no point.Af due in a week so cant actually go on list properly yet
Also Dh is only home for 5 days and only 2 of those are my fertile days so im not starting with much on my side.
But i have brought Lemon cake and frozen Vodka soaked Jaffa cakes so have some and we can sing loudly while rolling in the aisles

8rubberduckies · 29/07/2010 09:30

Hi totallyfloaty I remember you from the March bus [waves from the back seat energetically]. I have saved you a seat, as, although you should really be just running alongside the bus being pelted with sweets until AF arrives, you have Jaffa Cakes and Vodka, so I think we should allow you on for the ride just this once ...

Thinking about signing up for some Reflexology this month vallinna. Although I cannot afford it I am a great believer in it, especially for kick-starting fertility, so we will all be living on baked beans and lentils in my house until I get up the duff.

I hope all are well this morning

lolaclare · 29/07/2010 11:00

Hi all! Ovulation calculators are telling me I should be ovulating Fri/Sat/Sun next week depending on which one I use so I think I'll just be SWI all of next week to be safe.

I'm just soooo impatient though. Have been looking at the Next & Top Shop maternity clothes online instead of doing work this morning. Yesterday I picked out which pushchair/travel-system to get. Should have everything for the pregnancy, birth and baby firmly planned by the time I even get to Monday. How on earth will I cope with the 2WW?

8rubberduckies · 29/07/2010 14:39

lolaclare I was browsing the maternity wear in Mamas and Papas the other day

I am also loath to lend our crib to my friend who is due in February, wanting to leave it up in the loft getting all dusty just in case....

Totallyfloaty35 · 29/07/2010 15:27

Thankyou so much 8rubberduckies,i could do with the exercise of running alongside the bus but i am lazy so thanks for letting me on( the only good thing about NOT being pregnant is being able to guzzle the Vodka) an having a drink

Eskarina · 29/07/2010 16:59

(sorry for a slightly icky post) Does anyone know if smear tests are a problem when TTC? I got my letter this week but the first date by surgery can fit me in is Fri 13th, which is just after I'm likely to ovulate this month. Not sure what to do, but I can't just not go.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 29/07/2010 17:41

Esk As long as you don't do the deed right before you leave the house for your appt, there should be no reason why you can't have your smear while TTC.
They won't do it if you're pg though as the hormonal changes won't give an accurate result.

DustyDiva · 29/07/2010 17:54

Hi I have PCOS too, had been masked by taking the pill for 8 years also! No period for over a year so got blood tests etc and then a scan confirmed PCOS. Had first cycle of Clomid 150mg this month but it did not work. Now on Metformin and starting Tamoxifen in 4 weeks. I am CD 18 after inducing my period with Provera to start the Clomid cycle...although my 12 day scan showed that no eggs have been produced I did feel a really sharp pain on day 4 of taking clomid and part of me can't help hoping I have ovulated so early that the scan didn't pick it up!Here is hoping.

Am trying to be chilled out about ttc but managed to convince myself I was pg this week and was really upset when my AF put in an appearance. Last time we decided to try for a baby I got pg the same day( !) so I'm not used to all this ttc business

How you finding the Metformin dustydiva? It makes me feel decidedly dodgy sometimes, and I am on such a low dose! It seems to have done the trick though with my cycles What is Tamoxifen?

Hello again loopy lovely to see you I'll have a Pimms if you don't mind, and Hello and Welcome omnom

rosieposey · 30/07/2010 15:36

Hello Lovely May Ladies Do you mind if i reserve a seat at the back of the bus?

Just hopped off the April one as am having a crazy long cycle (36 days so far) and ov'ed 14 days ago - so def not pg as it would have shown on htp by now, i occasionally have these late AF appearances - its been quite a while since the last one and of course they are a bit cruel as for just a moment there till the stick turns white you think you might be pg.

To you ladies on Metformin, I have real problems with it when i take the double dose in the evening, and ive been taking it quite a while, hope it settles down soon though.

Ok will add myself to the stats with a view to putting my day up when AF actually comes along.

8rubberduckies · 30/07/2010 16:15

Welcome rosie! When does the Metformin belly ever stop? I've been on it since April and every time I try to increase my dose I have a really bad stomach . I've heard the slow release tablets can be better though so am going to go back to my GP and ask for some.

I still haven't received my new router for broadband at home and I moved on the bloody 10th July , so have only been able to Mumsnet at work [insert very naughty smiley]. Am on annual leave now for 2 weeks so am really hoping that it turns up soon, as I will feel like I'm living in the dark ages with no internet, and even worse won't be able to update Fertility Friend!

So, I will be with you all in spirit ladies, drinking heaviliy on the back of the bus trying to bat DP off until the window of opportunity arrives. I have left a massive stack of large Galaxy bars and a few bottles of red wine so none of you forget me

DustyDiva · 30/07/2010 16:35

hello rubberduckie, the Metformin isn't too ad I take 850mg twice a day and its only my first week, hopefully it will do something for my cycles ie making them return?? Tamoxifen is the breast cancer drug, it has an effect on estrogen which is why it is also used as a fertility drug, especially where clomid has failed. I'm liking the galaxy and red wine at the back of the bus.... x

Hello all, mind if I squeeze in at the back? Have stopped clinging onto the bumper of the April bus by my fingernails so can finally get on board this one properly.

I bring wine. And chocolate.

My, it's crowded in here already. We're going to be bursting at the seams by the end of the month!

Am baaaaaack! Glad to see the list looking fuller, but sorry to those joining from April bus.

Have only just started the shagathon this morning as af went on for aaaaages while on hols (might be the agnus castus I've just started). But am not about to ov yet anyway. I think it might be anywhere between cd19-26. So this week is just a practise week.
