Welcome to our new shiny thread for February. The lattes and expressos were not quite hitting the mark so we have moved to the pub. Whether you need Diet Coke or stiff drink help yourself we have a tab going and hunky staff are very attentive.
@RainbowZebraWarrior 💜 good luck with your pip application.
Thanks crisps

Application was last June. It's tribunal time now.

How are you doing? Pleased the Tens machine is helping. Do you have a rough timescale for your home assessment? Hope physio gets round to sorting crutch soon. Mine must went to cupboard and got me one. They have loads, but it's a big physio dept at hosp. I feel much safer with crutches and never got on with a walking stick. Didn't feel remotely safe.

ICrunchCrispsNotNumbers · 07/03/2022 18:14

@RainbowZebraWarrior thank you for the message. I'm doing okay, thank you. A bit tired, but I'll manage.

I'm looking at booking in again with the physio soon to find out more about the crutch. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻

The tens machine is still being fantastic. Am really glad I brought it.

Hope it goes well for you at tribunal. Looking forward to hearing how it goes ❤️

I get out soon Akire, I think you’re my way, happy to meet for a coffee.
I’ve gritted my teeth and been to the loo alone today, it’s agonising but it means I get home more quickly if they think I can do it. Pain meds still not controlling things but I may well have a chat with the GP. She’s good.

Akire · 08/03/2022 19:51

Thanks guys I will get over the hump just sucks while it’s lasts. Are they just sorting meds @Gilead then sending you home? Thought might have new hip in though probable some awful long list to beta you to front of the queue.

Meds physio and physio continuing at home, not sure when but hopefully by the weekend. Then hopefully give it a week and driving will return. They moved me from Dryburn last week, cottage hospital now, but typically not the one near where I live!

I mourn the career I lost two years ago. As a Sports Therapist, I loved helping people. But even though I worked with athletes, I also worked with people who were disabled (from 89 year olds needing a new hip, to 20 year olds with Cerebral Palsy) They all said that they felt so grateful just for being touched In the early years of my career, it was hard to hear. But as the years went on, I understood them.

And now I absolutely get exactly what they meant. I'm lucky, I get cuddles from my DD. But I'm aware that some of us don't have that luxury x

Akire · 08/03/2022 21:27

Thanks yes I’m sure it’s very common. Not like I can even have a pet live in flat and struggle look after myself so adding a pooing animal isn’t going help!

That is a great thing about the internet, it is a way to have some contact with others.

HerRoyalHappiness · 09/03/2022 07:57

Good morning. How is everyone?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 09/03/2022 13:35

tired even though i slept for ten hours. im always tired no matter how much i sleep and my broken wrist is really aching so i guess that means its starting to heal up now. how are you doing lovely?

HerRoyalHappiness · 09/03/2022 13:52

I know the feeling of always being tired. It sucks majorly.
Sorry your wrist is aching. Hopefully it will heal nicely and not cause you any more problems

ICrunchCrispsNotNumbers · 09/03/2022 14:13

I'm tired today too. Also feeling achey and my legs are burning up again. I find that wearing a loose cotton nightie or shorts helps, so I've got a nightdress on today.

Hope everyone is feeling a bit better ❤️

Akire · 09/03/2022 17:38

Had blood test that had book week in advance…nobody there! Waiting room for 50. I mean you do not need a 15min apt for blood test. That’s only 4 people An hour per member of staff I think we can up that just bit more Hmm

So much pain is from chair and pavements I’m sure people wouldn’t cope this amount shaking droppings and shudders on public transport where every part of your body is in pain. Hoping my big new ugly wheelchair with bigger wheels will least some whiplash going over pavements. Imagine what be like if all roads like indoor shopping centre would be amazing.

Good news they came and fixed fire door so has handle everyone can use kids included. Why they allowed put them in first place I don’t know.

OP posts:
Gilead · 10/03/2022 03:37

@Akire, hurrah for the fire door!
Hope you have a good day, that goes for everyone!

Akire · 10/03/2022 13:12

You win some you lose some. Fire door fixed and now lift is broken again. Can’t order food shop because intercom also been broke last week or so. Can’t buzz delivery In nor go down and open door which is what I have been doing.

Least kidney pain seems behaving so that’s something. Hope everyone else’s day got off to a better start.

Good morning. How is everyone?
Better today, compared to the past few weeks. It is a bright sunny day, which is nice.

This is horrible, is there anybody you can ask to bring things via the stairs for you? How can you be left basically sick, helpless and trapped? It is not right at all.
Akire · 10/03/2022 21:17

Oh trust me it happens over and over.

Glad you had a good day at least.
