Chronic pain

At my wits end!

Hi all,

I just need to vent really.

I have cerebral palsy and have had it from birth. I've also been suffering with chronic pain and extreme tiredness for months now.

Every day I wake up and am just in agony everywhere. I'm suffering with extreme tiredness too, and can spend the entire day sleeping.

I'm getting extreme pains in my hands too, which is making it hard to type/ write. I'm a student, and I have to write a lot for my course. But now I'm struggling to even start and finish anything. I feel so useless, it's unbelievable.

I'm really depressed too (I suffer from depression/anxiety anyway) and am finding that I just burst into tears without warning.

I'm really scared about the future, and I've started to think maybe it'll be better if I wasn't here (i wouldn't try to kill myself though, it's just dark thoughts) I'm being referred to a counsellor / MH Team at the moment..

When I look at how my life is going to be in the future, I don't see anything. I'm really at my wits end.

Sorry if this post is a bit jumbled ❤️

Are they able to prescribe anything (else) for your pain?
Could they refer you to the pain clinic to help you cope with the pain?
So sorry, it’s tough. I have a chronic pain condition, I know it’s hard psychologically not just physically Flowers

Sorry you are feeling rubbish (for good reason!) do you have a consultant you see or is it 18 bye bye? Please try and go see GP the tiredness is classic sign of depression and could be helped by medication in relatively short time. I can see waiting for counselling that’s good.

Did you have a Student Disability assessment or whatever it’s called these days? They should be able to provide you with equipment to help like laptop or if you are struggling to write a note taker. There are things that can be done to put you on even level with others on the course.

@Akire @Appiandterri thank you both for responding. ❤️

I've been referred to a neurologist at my local hospital but I know that might take a while.

I also need physio but am struggling to find an appropriate therapist because the hospitals 'haven't got enough funding' or 'haven't got a neuro physio.' honestly, you couldn't make it up.

I've been put on new medication too, which should help with getting rid of some of the pain and anxiety 😘😘
