New shiny thread to get us through December & Xmas and possible New Year!

This thread is for anyone who has days , weeks, months at time when get chronic pain flair or lives in pain constantly. There are so many conditions that have pain and often limited understand of how it feels to be living with it. Everyone is very welcome

Bad night here again. Not sure what's wrong with me at the moment. 5th night in a row that I have looked at the clock pretty much every hour. I'm so tired. Hit the codeine first thing as the pains in my feet are actually unbearable this morning.

Need to wash and blow dry my hair but the effort and pain involved is making me put it off. Will see if DD2 will help me tomorrow. I want it to look like it did when I first had it cut earlier this week!

Lazy day here for me. DH wants to move all furniture round in the living room to where the new sofas will be. I'm going to watch him with a G&T and my new book.

My mums here today. She's set her phone up in the window recording video so if anyone comes and kicks the door we've got them on video. They threw a potato at the door in the middle of the night last night.

Glad you are recording sooner doorbell is here the better. I’ve had stuff on my door it’s horrible. Are you keeping diary of this? Sometimes much harder after the event to remember all times and details and what you did.

Struggle so much weekends, in week
Have Tv and radio but nothing fancy at weekends. The day seriously drags on and on and on and on.

Just seen on my Nextdoor app that loads of people having bother getting doors kicked. Fucking mindless kids following obnoxious trends eh? Progressive!

@Akire crochet blanket sounds amazing. My friend makes loads and they are simply wonderful. last time I saw her, she had packaged a load of them up and asked her daughter if she would like them. Daughter is interior designer and said no, not to yet taste. I was gutted for her and desperate to ask if I could have one. My friend has put them away in the hope that daughter changes her mind

@SpookyScarySkeletons do you / can you take amitriptyline? It's good for pain but also sleep

@RainbowZebraWarrior I'm already on 40mg a night but it's not touching it. The pain is okish when I first go up to bed about 11. But then wake at 2 and see every hour. I can't lie still because the pain is so intense so constantly trying to move my legs around.

Sorry I know I'm having a proper whinge. I'm just tired and fed up xx

Same here @SpookyScarySkeletons bored and tired and pain. Look at time expecting it to be 230 and it’s 1240 still. Suppose half find something watch for upteenth time. Good luck to everyone getting through the afternoon.

Ah crap Spooky I had a feeling you would probably already be on it. It's shit and I don't blame you for whingeing. I'm watching films on Disney plus with DD. I feel sick with pain and I know I need to do tax return but my brain and body not up to it today. I've had headache for 2 weeks and weird dizziness when looking at outer edges of vision. Keep having to look away from TV screen. I'm going to order Chinese food tonight and watch Masked singer. Fingers crossed for better evenings all round

I had a good day today, went out for lunch with a friend and only experienced brief stomach pain after. Back pain is bad from all the walking around, but it was definitely worth it for the mental boost.

Door kickers have been back. 2 girls this time so there's obviously a group of them targeting my address. Again logged with the police.
Police are looking into getting me a dummy CCTV camera to deter them.

Can’t believe they been back. Surely it’s element of surprise. Most people even “oldies” have video on their phone. It’s a risky thing they are doing.

What makes it worse is they're scaring DD. She's only 8 and now terrified someone's going to break in

Can the police refer you to victim support or whatever it’s called these days? Or will school be any help?

The police seem to be doing as little as possible.
I'll speak to school and explain whats going on when she's allowed back after her covid isolation.

@SpookyScarySkeletons if I knew when it was going to happen I'd lay in wait behind the door and drag the little bastards into my house to wait for the police.

DD and DS2 are both in my bed, terrified that someone wants to hurt them. I've told them that no one is going to hurt them, it's just teenagers being silly and reassured them that if anyone gets in I'll phone the police and use my crutches as a weapon to fend them off.

I'm tired and achy as I slept like a pretzel due to DD and DCat hogging most of the bed. Need to do tax return though so going to try and get up soon

I slept a little better last night. 4 whole uninterrupted hours. Also managed to vacuum yesterday from my wheelchair. It was awkward but I did it.

Morning all, woke up to text message saying I have radiology apt on Tuesday. Well news to me! Have cancel as already have dentist paid £300 for and need 48h notice or
Lose that. Annoying because gynaecology man did not mention anything about any more scans or tests. GP can’t refer me for scans can they? It’s at same hospital which means another expensive taxi and stress there and back (I’m in London) I’m glad if means can rule out more things or indeed find reason for pain and pulling.

I still didn't sleep, but the DC seem a bit more settled today
