Really struggling today. I did my GCSF injection and the side effects are just shit!
Injected at 7pm, headache started at midnight. Still awake at 2am shivering/sweating and with bone pain. Fell asleep then up at 6am to find painkillers as the headache was still there
It's the relentless bone pain that is driving me mad

Akire · 05/10/2021 18:57

Hi @NotMyCat is it still there now? I’ve been having bad bone pain to it sucks. There are something about waking in night with that sort headache that makes it feel worse

I feel so sick. I've barely eaten for the last few days so I forced a pie down earlier and have just tried to eat an apple and vomited everything back up. Sad

Akire · 05/10/2021 19:53

Aw that’s rough, do you think is virusi?

I started losing my appetite when I started my new antipsychotics a week or so ago. I dont know what's going on if its related to the meds or if its a bug.

Akire · 05/10/2021 19:59

Sounds like side effect then although normal pass once it’s in system. Warm milk or something keep you going?

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 05/10/2021 20:04

I'm able to drink so I think I'll try a meal replacement shake. I have some from when I was doing exante (I didn't last very well) hopefully that will keep me going.

NotMyCat · 05/10/2021 20:46

@Akire it's finally shifted mostly. Just some residual back/hip pain

Gilead · 06/10/2021 12:50

Shit day today, necking paracetamol and Tramadol and it’s not touching the edges. Will have to add oramorph in a while.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 06/10/2021 13:08

@Gilead I hope you get some relief soon.

I've upped my antipsychotic today so hopefully I won't have too many some effects from that.
I've also got DS1 at hospital for his cardiology appointment. Every time we've been theyve found something new wrong with his heart so he said this morning "I wonder what will be wrong this tiem" I told him nothing is allowed to be wrong. I'm fed up of his heart being wrong!

Akire · 06/10/2021 14:09

Also having rough day back major spasm after shopping as pavements in such state. Liked a 30min on very old bumpy roller coaster. Bonus pain from new random stabbing pain over right eye. Sigh

I am having a very achy day, think I need more sleep. DH has stayed asleep every morning this week, whereas I was getting to sleep in a bit when my foot was bad, as he went down and saw to the dogs and made the tea. He works three days a week but has had two off this week so no need to set the alarm.

I don’t really expect him to carry on getting up to see to the pets though (especially as they are all mine!). I shall have to try getting to sleep earlier.

In good news the doctor has prescribed me some more paracetamol and codeine, I try to use them rarely and usually just one with an ordinary paracetamol and I pointed out that 100 had lasted me since February. It is awful that we have to justify needing painkillers though and as you said @Akire pharmacies don’t really like giving you the over the counter ones. I wonder if we should have a card we could show if we need to buy something.

Schmooo · 06/10/2021 14:40

Just coming in to say hi and have a moan. I'm (only 🤣) 50 but have severe arthritis in my neck and it's been so bad this week - just constant agony. I've asked for a referral to a pain clinic as I don't want to take strong painkillers if I can help it as I need to work full time. Nightmare. Sorry to hear about everyone else living with chronic pain too.

Akire · 06/10/2021 15:44

Hi @Schmooo welcome to our corner. Neck pain ouch that’s nasty one. Funny how pain different parts affects. Neck pain like tooth pain even if middle of range (for us) just takes over everything.

Do you have particular reasons for no drugs? I used to be like that in my youth but before pain became part of my day to day life now I take anything I can get!

Anyone tried Meloxicam? That's the latest prescription, on top of the rest of the pharmucopia of Adalimumab, Zapain and Amitriptyline.

It's to replace the other NSAIDs (I've tried ibuprofen, Naproxen and Celebrex). The DMARD Sulfasalazine was a disaster.

Sigh.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 06/10/2021 16:56

Good news! No change to DS1s heart, its still functioning well despite his leaky valves and his twisty artery is just twisty. Nothing has got any worse and just got to keep monitoring him to make sure it keeps up with him as he goes through puberty. I'm so relieved.

Bad news, I'm in bloody agony with my hip.

Evenstar · 06/10/2021 17:02

Sorry about the hip @HerRoyalRisesAgain but such good news about your son’s heart.

Evenstar · 06/10/2021 17:05

@SpindleWhirl I think my late MIL was on Meloxicam, she had Rheumatoid Arthritis, she had to discontinue all anti inflammatory drugs because they were causing an ulcer, but she found it very good when she was on it.

SpindleWhirl · 06/10/2021 18:24

Thanks, @Evenstar; I have a lot of problems with my guts and BP (autoimmune stuff) but both Rheum and GP think I should try Meloxicam despite the known side effects and risks.

Funny how they both tried to tell me oestrogen-only transdermal HRT was the work of the devil, after I had my ovaries and uterus removed and my gynae surgeon prescribed it!

SpindleWhirl · 06/10/2021 18:27

@HerRoyalRisesAgain, that's good news for your son and for you. Sounds like you needed it Flowers

Akire · 06/10/2021 19:56

Nice to hear some positive news today.

That's fantastic news about your son @HerRoyalRisesAgain I bet you are relieved. It's awful when our little ones are going through things like that isn't it. I've had hospital visits with both of mine but nothing like heart problems.

Quiet day from me sorry. Trying to cope with the non-codeine relieved pain and utter exhaustion. Need a big gin and a big sleep.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 06/10/2021 22:04

It's a huge relief. He's completely unfazed by all of it though. So long as he can still play rugby he doesn't care. Grin

Gilead · 06/10/2021 23:12

@HerRoyalRisesAgain, pleased for you, a teeny tiny bit less stress.💐

sweetkitty · 06/10/2021 23:21

@HerRoyalRisesAgain good news about your son sorry to hear about your hip though

@Akire sorry about your bumpy ride people who sort pavement should think about these kind of things and don’t start me on morons who park on pavements Angry

@cricketmum84 I don’t know what I’d do without my dihydrocodeine I’ve had to go 1-2 days without it before if I run out and it’s no fun I’m so achey and hurty. I feel for you. I only take 4 a day so I don’t see how I can be addicted to them despite how I get treated by the GP/pharmacist etc.

Had to take a sumatriptan as I could feel a headache coming on that would have lead to a migraine if I hadn’t. Hard day at work followed by parents night Sad all on the phone though. 2 more days then it’s the holidays. I love my job but it can be very full on, looking forward to a lot of lovely sleep.
