Ooh I ordered quite a few presents in the Black Friday deals today. Eldest DD has a tv in her room but it's not connected up to freebies or sky so I got her a fire stick for less than half price, plus some hotel chocolate for DH and DDad. DD (12) is obsessed with makeup and skincare so I've got her a big chest of face masks, makeup and simple cleansers so they aren't too harsh on her skin. I love Christmas shopping!

Akire · 26/11/2021 15:16

Snow is lovely at least for the first day and if you don’t have travel. Lovely so many of us having an ok day helps keeps us sane. I don’t like shop in store December far to difficult with displays and people so almost done

Snow is beautiful to look at. Not so nice to have to go out in though!

I'm in quite a bit of pain with my back today but I think I slept funny.

DD is at a friend's house for tea today, they're having a littke tea party. 7 little 7 year olds! The mum must be mad!

BackInBits · 26/11/2021 16:11

@HerRoyalHappiness mad, but useful! 😂

I can't believe how much better my mood is today. Hope the relief lasts a bit.

Akire · 26/11/2021 16:12

Hi all!

Pleased the procedure went well @BackInBits

Loving the new user name @HerRoyalHappiness

I'm smack bang in the middle of the red weather warning. Thankfully, I've managed to get all my wheelie ins into the back garden and bolt the gate. And I've managed to grab a decent amount of logs for the stove. We've had sleet so far. Snow due during the night. Yup, pretty to look at when it's first fell. Pleased I don't have to go out in it though!

HerRoyalHappiness · 26/11/2021 19:15

Back is still killing me. I've had max dose of pain killers and my tens machine until it died on me. I can barely move Sad

Akire · 26/11/2021 19:55

Morning all.

Aww @HerRoyalHappiness hope your date goes well and it helps distract from the pain.

House still standing. Fence down, shed door off. Most of the houses in the street have tiles missing. Trees everywhere. Madness. Sainsbury's shop managed to get delivered just now thankfully.

HerRoyalHappiness · 27/11/2021 11:12

Mum has been down and helped me wash my hair ready fir later bless her

sweetkitty · 27/11/2021 11:36

No snow here but oh my goodness it’s cold Sad

Sorry I’ve not been round a lot recently having a hard time of it just can’t stop crying today, feeling ridiculously sorry for myself. I got the cold again last week and it’s turned into painful sinusitis on top of everything else. My head is constantly pounding and I just feel awful and sick all the time. Think I’m totally rundown despite all the vitamins. It’s waking me up at night then I can’t get back to sleep, I’m in too much pain. Feel like it’s the straw that broke the camels back just now.

Work has been horrendous too we are always short-staffed and some of our little people are violent so I’m covered in bruises too. I know I’m lucky I can still work though I appreciate that but it seems that’s all I can do just now work and there’s nothing left over.

Sorry for the pity post today I hope everyone else is doing ok in this cold weather.

BackInBits · 27/11/2021 11:38

@HerRoyalHappiness shoulder subluxations are horrible. Couldn't sleep on my left at all when I was pregnant!

Hoping you make it to your date and it goes well 🤞

Deolow · 27/11/2021 11:48

Hi everyone ☺, I am 33 years old with a 17 month old toddler.. I have been suffering from migraines since childhood.. It got a lot better during pregnancy with almost none..but it came back with a vengeance and I now almost suffer every day.. I find it so hard being a good mom if I am sick everyday, having to go on every day and night, even though the pain is so intense that you don't know what to do with yourself.. good luck to all of you on this thread that are suffering..

Akire · 27/11/2021 11:58

@sweetkitty that sounds totally rubbish, I understand about camels back hardly enough cope with what day brings and nothing spare. Hugs

Hi @Deolow you are very welcome. Migraines are the pits. Are you on long term medication for it? I know friends can take some preventive to ward off an attack but only so much every month.

I find TENS on head (only one patch mind!) helps with the pain, I get far less migraines these days but when I wake 3am it helps gives me some relief. Do you have a lot support? Hard when kids are tiny and can’t close eyes for few minutes.

sweetkitty · 27/11/2021 12:02

Hi @Deolow I have had chronic migraines since I was a child too, I take topiramate as a preventer and sumatriptan if I feel one coming on. They don’t always work but do help. I would ask your GP to refer you to a migraine specialist. I feel for you having to deal them and a young toddler too. Nowadays I can just take myself off to bed when they happen.

Akire · 27/11/2021 12:12

@Deolow migraines suck. Luckily I don't get them often.
@sweetkitty that sounds miserable.

SpookyScarySkeletons · 27/11/2021 12:25

Someone really needs to teach me how to do clicks links!!

Also I'm namechanging today to something Christmassy if anyone gets confused by my rapidly changing name 😂😂

RainbowZebraWarrior · 27/11/2021 12:42

Thanks for the new thread @Akire

Hugs and Flowers to everyone. I really do think winter just tips us over the edge pain wise. The cold, the darkness. I know the weather between Oct and March plays havoc with my asthma and my pain. Thankfully, I've reached the point of saying sod it to being a people pleaser. So I'm kind to myself and allow myself to have rest days if I can. I used to rush about doing favour for people and going places i didn't want to go to. Simply not capable now, and feel a lot less stressed for it.
