HerRoyalRisesAgain · 28/09/2021 08:56

@Gilead yeah, EDS. Its horrid

Akire · 28/09/2021 09:35

Some of you have been up to plenty of mischief already I see! Sorry it’s payday @cricketmum84 sounds intense.

Meeting old carer coffee later which be nice if rain holds. Not going into covid pit of the shop which is tiny no ventilation and all chairs touch each other as so packed.

Gilead · 28/09/2021 10:57

@HerRoyalRisesAgain, me too, and dd. I too use a scooter. Hips constantly sub lux, along with the usual. Am quite a bit older than you, so have osteoarthritis now too. As well as a list as long as your arm of other stuff.
May I ask, are you Autistic, there is a significant overlap with Autism/EDS?

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 28/09/2021 12:00

@Gilead yeah I'm autistic, and have arthritis and fibro. It's horrid bring in constant pain. My hips ate z bugger too, especially my left one.

cricketmum84 · 28/09/2021 13:15

Well hello peak pain levels!! It's like tiny borrowers are drilling holes into my ankles.

Honestly I would rather they chop my feet off than have to cope with this another minute.

Gilead · 28/09/2021 13:30

💐💐💐
Rubbish being in constant pain isn’t it.
Sorry @cricketmum84.

@HerRoyalRisesAgain, I’m autistic too.

cricketmum84 · 28/09/2021 13:52

@Gilead

💐💐💐 Rubbish being in constant pain isn’t it. Sorry *@cricketmum84*.

@HerRoyalRisesAgain, I’m autistic too.

It's just crap. It hurts like hell, I can't take any more painkillers. I'm knee deep in trying to reconcile pension spreadsheets and DH isn't speaking to me because I snapped at him when he kept interrupting my calculations asking me how to return an item when he had the FUCKING RETURNS INSTRUCTIONS IN HIS OWN FUCKING HAND!!

Sorry.... I just really needed to get that out before I explode.

Akire · 28/09/2021 13:55

That’s all you need helpless male in vicinity!

@Gilead hi fellow autistic Grin
@cricketmum84 ugh, men Hmm last thing you need when you're in pain.

cricketmum84 · 28/09/2021 14:11

Honestly! This sounds awful but he drives me insane when he is home and I am working. He constantly wants to talk to me about football or asking me stupid questions while I'm actually adding up out loud and he distracts me so much!!!

I really don't care who the new manager of whatever football club is! Go and talk to your mates about that shit!

Disclaimer: this is totally lighthearted and he is a lovely wonderful man who has stepped up to take care of me so much. But everyone needs a whinge sometimes 😂

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 28/09/2021 14:12

@cricketmum84 whinge away!

Akire · 28/09/2021 16:04

Last push for @cricketmum84 and anyone else needs 6pm to arrive sooner rather than later!

Oh that's so annoying!!must be so hard to do that type of work in pain where it's really detailed orientated.

I got told by the lad in the mail shop I look tired today 🤨 yes I am fucking tired I've been in pain every day for the past 3 years, I look after a toddler full time and manage multiple businesses. Im bloody shattered

Akire · 28/09/2021 16:54

I scared my postman he genuinely asked me if I was feeling ok. I did have hold the door and let out a grown but nothing out ordinary! I think he thought not calling 999 was him getting away lightly. Grin

2 15/500 cocodamol. 30mg amitryptaline and an extra 30mg codeine that the Dr doesn't know about cos my mum snuck me them. If I don't sleep tonight I will cry.

Does anyone else get these peaks and trophs of nighttime pain? Like a few good days and then right back to the shit nights?

Akire · 28/09/2021 22:31

I do but I don’t have get up in the morning and you have full time job which makes it astonishing. Once I’m off that’s normally ok for few hours at least. But always the unwelcome 3am sledge hammer of joy

OP posts:
Gilead · 28/09/2021 22:34

@cricketmum84, I get peaks and troughs but not related to night time. I can have a day where I take a couple of paracetamol and a couple of tramadol and I’m fine, sometimes more than a day. Then the sciatic nerve decides it wants to make itself known, so like today, everything is taken exactly four hours apart and I can’t walk, sit, stand and can only lie in one position.

Akire · 28/09/2021 22:37

Have you tried ice packs on other part of the body as a distraction enough get you off? Sometimes I find laying on ice block thing helps to give my brain something focus on for while. Soemtimes fighting pain with pain helps

OP posts:
Gilead · 28/09/2021 22:51

Unfortunately I can’t, no hot water bottles either. I can and do use a wheat bag but extremes of temperature affect my psoriasis. It’s a no win! But do keep suggesting stuff please, people often come up with things others haven’t tried.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 28/09/2021 22:57

Tens machine?

Akire · 28/09/2021 23:06

I need blindfold or else I’m squeezing eyes keep out hardly anything light and ear plugs and headphones over the top. Then loads pillows to lift one part, rest the other. Heat and cold packs tens machine audio books. Sometimes distracting fan on legs. Sometimes super soft fluffy jumper that can “stroke”. Meds alcohol tens machine, various medical splints or strapping. It’s no wonder my bed and bed table always look like war zone!

cricketmum84 · 29/09/2021 08:37

3am sledgehammer here too. I can't believe how bad the pain is again today. Just taken more codeine and plenty of high strength CBD.

The thought of sitting at my desk all day is making me want to cry but no other choice.

Sorry I know I'm really negative at the moment. I will perk up once it eases again honestly.

Gilead · 29/09/2021 08:51

Been wondering about tens machine, is it useful for arthritis?

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 29/09/2021 09:04

@Gilead it's not a magic cure all but it can definitely take the edge off
