Gaudette by Steeleye Span

Thank you EverythingCounts - funny, I was wondering what the Waitresses song was that everyone was talking about. Turns out it's one of my favourites .

mummymeister · 02/12/2009 19:10

Stop the Cavalry by Jonah Lewis and in the bleak mid winter with all the solo parts and twiddly bits. You can't beat the kids Christmas eve service for a bit of eye watering festive magic. Its what its all about after.

nickytwotimes · 02/12/2009 19:11

Oh, oh, yes! The entire Phil SPector album.

pointydogg · 02/12/2009 19:15

The Waitrresses one.

Although, when I am feeling very tasteful, I am fond of the sufyan stevens ones

ijustwanttoaskaquestion · 02/12/2009 19:35

AWAY IN A MANGER my total favourite of all time. My DD1 went to a non church shcool so i missed out on this for DD1, its DD2s nativity and she is at a catholic school - although she has some rather contemporary songs sung to the tune of nursery rhymes on friday, i shall be devestated if there is no Away in a manger, in fact, i think i might complain!!!

ijustwanttoaskaquestion · 02/12/2009 19:36

oh and for grown ups, fairy tale of NY, i love it - it has sooo many memories for me (mostly drunken ones [bluish]) I will sing at top of my voice in shops to this one!!

SlartyBartFast · 02/12/2009 19:58

Low - Just Like Christmas

Or for when I'm feeling less upbeat, their cover of Blue Christmas is fab.

(hatebeak - yay for someone else who loves the Low Christmas album!)

ViktoriaMac · 03/12/2009 14:25
