What do you want for Christmas?

I am looking for inspiration! My Mum is late 40s and I always struggle to buy for her, also have MIL, SIL and my sister to buy for and of course my own Christmas list to formulate

What would be your perfect present?

Bobbi brown or Mac make up palattes.

Nice dressing gown/nightwear/underwear.

A pretty cake-stand.

New boots.

Nice knitted dress.

New winter coat.

Ooh, new dressing gown, that definitely appeals to me. I think I might want an e-reader too.

housework and washing fairies!!!

DH is getting me a trollbead braclet (i ordered it and he has hidden it) and also he will be gettingme some smellies, either Molton Browm or L'Occitane which i will be buying next week.

I want a pair of brown boots for every day wear and a pair of fabulous heels, preferably very impractical and in pewter.

I honestly do not have a shoe fetish.

I had wanted a 'Sweetie' necklace until I just searched the internet for one and realised how much they cost!! Might ask for the candy version instead!!!

Maybe a telescope to look at the stars.....but then it's one of those things that will end up in the corner of the room with jackets hanging on it or something

however i fit your demographic and would love jewellery, silver with semiprecious stones, no costume jewellery (assuming gold is not an option!) and no "plating"

no smellies or scarves (or disguised scarves -- shawls, pashminas, shrugs etc)

or clarins self tan, lovely for a winter glow, fancy, and it makes old people look younger but it actually does

I want an e-book but they are expensive.

Im getting my mum a voucher for a grow you own organic veg patch. They get delivered in the spring as little plants ready to go in the ground or pots so take away the messing about with cultivating seeds and re-potting.

I d quite like one of those blankets that you wear they are massive and look really cosy. my house is freezing.

Would be nice if the made baby ones too then my DD could get one.

I hope DP is looking over my shoulder as i type this!

oh I want an e-reader but the one that's in the states not the uk version as the USA one has so much more going for it. However it's unlikely to come out here.

Other than that I'd like lots of books and some clothes and a lie in and someone else to do the cleaning and cooking for a week.

I would like a new winter coat, something smart, in a bright colour, with a hood.

Some nice face cream, and possibly that Protect and Perfect serum from Boots.

Carpet for the upstairs of my house.

And any little treats from Lush would be lovely as I used to buy all my toiletries from there but cant afford to anymore.

Glitz - am liking the idea of a blanket that you can wear

I REALLY really want a Charity gift, like Oxfam goats or a community water pump or HIV+ community workers.
Nobody will get me what I want, because they'll perceive it as too impersonal.

Instead they'll buy me some dull household products (DH's relatives, item to be ungratefully donated to next preschool Easter Tombola) or some impractical and hard-to-suss high-tech gadget (DH, item to be flogged on Ebay when I reckon he's forgotten about it). SIGH.
