Come here. You can post as you and he can post as 'Mr Shiny Pants' or summat.

Hulababy · 29/12/2008 22:25

Very little.

We are likely to take DD out to a local Balti house for curry early evening, then come back home, put DD to bed and DH and I spend evening together.

SnowMuchToBits · 29/12/2008 22:27

We are going round to friends with similar age dcs. Feed children earlier, put them to bed, then adults eat later. Stay overnight so we can all drink (but probably not stay up excessively late).

aGalChangedHerName · 29/12/2008 22:28

Same as always. Put the dd's ( 4 and 2) and see the Bells in with DH and the ds's ( 17 and 13) after watching Still Game or whatever.

Then xmas dinner on New Years Day. We were out at Indian for xmas day.

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 29/12/2008 22:29

we going to butlins tom, first time at new year so not sure, but hey ho!!
Beats falling asleep in front of tv and being woken by fireworks!

saltiresaysSANTA · 29/12/2008 22:33

New Years what? Day, eve, night?

Pinkchampagne · 29/12/2008 22:36

Haven't really made any plans. I will have the children as babysitters are impossible to find NYE, but DP will hopefully come round & we can have a glass or two of something!

solidgoldstuffingballs · 29/12/2008 22:36

Tch, practically everyone I know is either not doing anything, or if they are doing something they are not inviting me . Some people are going to a club, but I am too tight/broke to pay for a ticket and have left it too late to get a working pass.
So as DS dad has offered to babysit no matter what, I am going to fill my pockets with business cards promoting my varying interests and cruise the local pubs as I may run into some acquaintances or make new ones.
(Yes it probably is pathologically immature of me, but I can't bear the thought of staying home on NYE.)

Bauble99 · 29/12/2008 22:41

Pinkchampagne. Hope your DS is OK now.

You need to watch out for that 'glass or two'. I'll be looking out for you in 'Birth Announcements.'

ComeOVeneer · 29/12/2008 22:45

We are having a dinner party at IL's for 16 people and somehow I have ended up doing the cooking (nibbles, starteer, main, chese and desserts). FIL usually does the cooking, but he has recently had knee replacement surger and isn't up to it.

BONKERZ · 29/12/2008 22:49

we have a party planned.....lots of friends over (between 20/30!) copius amounts of alcohol, good food, karaoke, wii tournaments, music then fireworks at midnight! cant wait!

DontCallMeBaby · 29/12/2008 23:03

Going to my parents to escape potentially noisy neighbours - last year DH, DD and I decamped to their boat instead, which was nice, but COLD. Grown-ups are having starters of goats cheese souffle and salad at DD's tea-time, while she has souffle and chips, we'll have fillet steak for main after she's asleep (this could easily be a four hour gap between starter and main!)

I'm undecided as to whether to take the Wii

MrsDoylesMole · 29/12/2008 23:05

Nothing as usual

Nothing as usual

MrsDoylesMole · 29/12/2008 23:05

oops

FiveGoMadInDorset · 29/12/2008 23:06

Was going out and DC's going to parents, but their sleep patterns have gone tits up so having a rare takeaway and copious amounts of wine at home.

singyswife · 29/12/2008 23:07

I want to cancel new year but no one will let me. It just annoys me as it is the same every damn year and every damn year I am pissed off and no one cares.

singyswife · 29/12/2008 23:14

Sorry I kinda killed this one. Oooops.

Pinkchampagne · 29/12/2008 23:56

Lol, Bauble! Will try not to get that drunk!!

Took DS to the doctors today & we have antibiotics & cream. Trying to get the antibiotics down him is quite a challenge though!

lou33 · 30/12/2008 00:46

nothing atm, i've never been keen on nye

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 30/12/2008 00:53

We're going out for the first time in 7 years. TBH, it's been a relief not having to go out on NYE previously, I always find it a hassle and more pressure than it was worth.

DH and I have nice food and nice wine. And just about manage to stay up until midnight.

brightwell · 30/12/2008 12:06

I'm taking dc to a friends for an evening of xbox & wii, food & fireworks. I've got to be at work for 7.15 New Years Day so won't be drinking.

Cupofteaplease · 30/12/2008 12:20

I'm very envious of those of you with plans

I wanted to host a party, but nobody would come- how depressing is that?!

I've got a huge family, and they all either have their own plans, or don't want to leave their house. dh's family have all made their own plans. My friends without children are all going out to pubs or clubs. My friends with children have babysitters so are going out for the night, or they are staying in for an early night.

So, my options now are to go to my mum's house- which will be dull as dish water, or stay at home with dh- same as any other noght. Gosh, I HATE NYE!!

sophy · 30/12/2008 12:29

Am in bed recuperating from tummy bug ... so it will be quiet night in with dh, with champagne if I feel up to it by tomorrow.

And maybe a takeaway curry.

FrostytheSurfmum · 30/12/2008 12:37

Dh is working, dd is going to my mums and I'm off to a little fishing village in Cornwall for a couple of nights tomorrow morning to meet up with friends.

The whole village dresses in fancy dress and tour the 5 pubs, it's bloody brilliant and I can't wait.
