I know I've seen them somewhere but can't remember where and fancy trying one for new year's eve.

Aldi do a 3 bird one

bigTillyMint · 26/12/2008 11:42

M&S do.

Our butchers had a 3 bird roast in for about £40

nappyaddict · 26/12/2008 11:42

ah perhaps that's the one i've seen. do you know how much and what's in it?

is it one bird stuffed inside another? do you not find it macabre and revolting even for a meat product?

IotasCat · 26/12/2008 11:49

meats are often served together franny. Chicken wrapped in bacon, beef wellington smothered in pate, chicken stuffed with sausagemeat .......etc

FrannyandZooey · 26/12/2008 11:50

yes it is the thing of physically stuffing one animal into another that i find extremely odd

but perhaps just me

IotasCat · 26/12/2008 11:50

And Saltimbocca

bigTillyMint · 26/12/2008 11:50

I've no idea what was in any of them, but if you google the M&S and Aldi ones, it should say

IotasCat · 26/12/2008 11:52

Is it better to pulverize it first then? Like pate or sausagemeat ?

Aitch · 26/12/2008 11:53

lol at 'even for a meat product'. and yet the things you do to lentils, frank, that never touches you, does it?

FrannyandZooey · 26/12/2008 11:54

no i have no heart for lentils
they deserve it the little flat bastards

IotasCat · 26/12/2008 11:54

Don't even think about soup How many vegetables get boiled and liquidised together in that

I am a big carnivore but I would find that a bit odd, visually pleasing maybe but odd to eat. Bird on bird, on bird and so on.

There is a sort of fairytale or story image to it I think, like the old woman that swallowed a fly.

nbee84 · 26/12/2008 12:00

waitrose

FrannyandZooey · 26/12/2008 12:00

"visually pleasing"? what one dead body stuffed inside another?

fraeks

Guadalupe · 26/12/2008 12:02

ew at creamed meat, makes it sound rather processed or mechanically reclaimed.

NotQuiteCockney · 26/12/2008 12:03

We had one yesterday.

It was tasty, but it was relatively hard to tell what was what.

My brother and one of his kids were making their own turducken yesterday, too ...

Guadalupe · 26/12/2008 12:03

What about russian dolls? They are pretty.

nappyaddict · 26/12/2008 12:03

Does the aldi one have different flavours of stuffing?
