Tis aimed at a 7yo girl (which might help) but from grandparents so think losely 7yo girl IYSWIM.
Box is huge. About 2.6-3' by about 1' by about 6". but it tapers a bit towards one end (on the 1' dimension)

The only thinkg that we can think of is those toddler sized standing "doll" things...but we think they are a bit "young" for a 7yo.

Please somene tell me that they are not those standing toddler doll things....Please someone come up with a sensible alternative

Guitar?

AnarchyInAManger · 23/12/2008 17:11

Oh no, wrong size/shape on second reading.

Some sort of mircophone thing?

christMAScomesbutonceayear · 23/12/2008 17:11

can you not peel a wee bit off wrapping ?

yummybunnymummy · 23/12/2008 17:12

6ft? A netball hoop and stand?

yummybunnymummy · 23/12/2008 17:12

peel off wrapping!

tissy · 23/12/2008 17:13

will the gps see her unwrapping it?

If not, then unwrap and rewrap

IAmTheNewQueenOfMN · 23/12/2008 17:13

a bratz thing?

shootRudolphinthehip · 23/12/2008 17:13

telescope and stand?

Seeline · 23/12/2008 17:13

How heavy is it? Does it rattle, or are there any loose bits inside?

yummybunnymummy · 23/12/2008 17:14

dh thinks I'm not being helpful in suggesting you unwrap and have a peak...it is only a day and a bit away....

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 23/12/2008 17:14

Oh oh - Cut the selotape off at one end (you have to be REALLY careful) and then you can look, reseal and wahey!

yummybunnymummy · 23/12/2008 17:15

aaliyah - have you done this before????

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 23/12/2008 17:21

Me? Never!! LMAO.

I used to do it when I was younger to see whether my parents had bought me what I wanted. LOL

DoNotsAntlers · 23/12/2008 17:57

Dunno about weight....DTDs carried them in so I am guessing light.

I did actually suggest in jest last night that it could be a violin.

Budget would be £20 give or take I expect.

They always ask what they should buy - and this year they haven't...and I just know that it will be a disaster something lovely and appropriate.

I have suggested the sneak peak but DP has vetoed me...

dolls house? or one of those disgusting pig ugly dolls that walks?

DoNotsAntlers · 23/12/2008 17:59

It is only about 3-4" narrower at one end so it doesn't come to a point or anything.

It think the sides feel like that firm clear plastic that dolsl typically come displayed in.

Oh and there are 2 of them as I have twins...so if it was a telescope they would have bought 1 to share IYSWIM.

can i get the measurements right?

3 foot x 1 foot x 6 inches
or
3 foot x 1 foot x 6 foot?

DoNotsAntlers · 23/12/2008 18:03

3 foot by 1 foot (which tapers) by 6 inches

Chucky - eat your heart out.

Flihgtattendant · 23/12/2008 18:04

Oh crikey. I wonder? I'd not be able to resist slitting the tape with a knife and undoing a bit. I think it is v important for parents to veto any ridiculously awful presents before children are traumatised.

I had to do it a few times with my sister's presents for ds1.

One year it was roller skates (he was 3 - think attach-to-your-trainers two wheeled heelie ones, that would kill him in seconds.)

another year (he was 2 i think) a thin glass lightbulb on a stand that you plug into a live socket and touch and it sends lightning bolts to your fingertips.

Yay, well thought out sis!

JustKeepSingingCarols · 23/12/2008 18:05

ok.

look here
at the wrapped pic - does it look about like that?

then toddler doll i'm afraid!

DoNotsAntlers · 23/12/2008 18:06

No Bollock Brain...you are wrong...you must be wrong...you cannot possibly be right....they are for 7yo girls FFS.

but just look at all the cute clothes you can dress them in.....

Flihgtattendant · 23/12/2008 18:08

Some kind of keyboard? again more like a sharing gift though...I mean, that's what they could be.

Dammit woman, you need to open one end and l;ook!!!

JustKeepSingingCarols · 23/12/2008 18:09

you absolutely have to tell us now!

get scissors and cut through the sellotape
{see my previous thread on opening presents!!)
then you can just stick more sellotape over the old stuff.
noone will ever know.....
