mine is the pet shop boys LP that had 'shopping' on it, the first Aha album (take on me/sun always shines on tv), and bonjovi (slippery when wet).

I got each LP at xmas when I was 13/14/15 (one per year).

what was yours???

Duran Duran Seven and the ragged Tiger, oh those were the days!
I loved Simon Le Bon.

Also loved Careless Whisper by George Michael and Crazy for you by Madonna. Loved my slow dances

I did go through a Bobby Brown phase though ??!!

DH is bracing himself, I don't do birthdays very well

Happy Christmas 1977!

...and yes, I was pleased to receive it.

My innocent 11 year old psyche was unable to comprehend my Dad and older sisters' mirth at 'Pheasant Plucker's Son'. Still less could I understand why they constantly encouraged me to sing this fine ditty....

saltiresaysSANTA · 20/12/2008 19:01

My mum didn't want me to get the Adam and the Ants Kings album. My dad though was a great music fan (admittedly it was pipe bands) and as far as he was concerned if I wanted vinyl, I would get it.

Psycho - it really was a great night. You should see if any of your friends have a music system with a record player and have one.

JingleBellaAllTheWay · 20/12/2008 19:01

You make me feel so old if you were 9 when Adam Ant was strutting his stuff. I must have been all of 11 or so!

Jumpsuits - aah. I had a horrid blue shiny one with zips all over, which I used to wear with my white fringed cowboy boots. Believe me, it was every bit as bad as it sounds...

Lizzylou · 20/12/2008 19:03

I won a Bucks Fizz album in a raffle when I was 10, only thing I have ever won and I was thrilled.

When DH and I got together we had a laugh at each other's LP's. I think my "Hip Hop and Rapping in the House" got the greatest chuckle.

nappyzonehasastroppytoddler · 20/12/2008 19:05

especially for you......... kylie and jason - im sure they were xmas no 1 but i do sadly own it on vinyl!

saltiresaysSANTA · 20/12/2008 19:13

jinglebella - hello, how's things. I was 9 when Kings of the Wild Frontier was released, in my teens when some of the later stuff came out. I've just turned 38

JingleBellaAllTheWay · 20/12/2008 19:16

Hello Saltiresays SANTA

Yup, I would have been an old haggard 12 year old by then, wearing Rimmel lip gloss or whatever lip gloss came in those glass tubes with a roller on the end and smelling of fruit.

Anyone?

KbearingGiftsWeTraverseAfar · 20/12/2008 19:24

getting ready to go out I put the radio on a they are playing old stuff (like we used to dance to in late 80's) and there is a song that goes "girl am I dreaming, I must be dreaming, lying here so close to you, by my side". Bloke singing.

Prize for whoever can tell me what it is - doesn't come up on google.

KbearingGiftsWeTraverseAfar · 20/12/2008 19:25

ooh cherry lip gloss roll on - heeave!

themoon66 · 20/12/2008 19:26

Oooh for me it would have to be the Top of the Pops albums that came out every xmas.

Really, really bad covers of the year's hits.

HeadFairy · 20/12/2008 19:34

For some reason this album popped in to my head immediately. Takes me right back to my teen bedroom.
