i've put 400 on my 7ft tree. it doesn't look like 400 lights though!!

mumeeee · 20/12/2008 18:04

I'm not sure how many lights there are on our Christmas tree, But it is a 6 foot tree and ther are not 600 lights on it.

NotanOtter · 20/12/2008 21:03

had to add another 40

I actually spend all my time in the car with dp commenting on how few/many lights are on trees

I just googled this and found that you should have 30 lights per foot of tree

which seems faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar more reasonable

NotanOtter · 21/12/2008 00:32

well i googled and had page after page saying 100/foot!

maybe it varies depending on where i the eu you are

well we have way over 1000 on ours now, but I would qualify that by saying that a lot of them are the little gloworm ones - I reckon I have ~1500 of those, plus ~200 'berry' /LED ones and ~50 decorative ones. And that's not because MN says so - I have always done it that way [sticks tongue out]
