I'm seriously growing a grey hair every minute with the stress of this! What do you get a man who has everything he wants?!

He's a gadget freak - but gadgets I find are little stocking filler type things that would amuse him for a whole 10 minutes before getting tossed aside for something better. We normally get each other a main present, and a couple of nice stocking fillers. Stockings fillers i'm fine with - main present i'm really struggling, made harder by him constantly telling me how great his present for me is

Any ideas? Gadgets/Football/Usual blokey stuff but something 'different'.. I challenge you all !

Leatherman penknife - very manly.

DH says this was the best thing I ever bought him but then he is a farmer!

kalo12 · 06/12/2008 18:17

a coffee machine
some kind of gardening tools

last year I bought my dh an axe
this year a pair of jeans and a bottle of rum

sunglasses

kalo12 · 06/12/2008 18:23

expensive wine

SheWillBeLoved · 06/12/2008 18:26

He likes things that he can mess about with - very much a tech geek he's hinted that he'd like the new Blackberry phone but at over £450, he can swivel

cine camera and projector

BirdyArms · 06/12/2008 20:06

What's your budget? How about:-
iphone?
Nespresso machine if he likes coffee?
Video camera, there are nice dinky ones around?

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 06/12/2008 20:15

How about a model remte control helicopter. My DH and my brother love the ones I got for them last year.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 06/12/2008 20:15

remote.

Seona1973 · 06/12/2008 20:16

dh is getting an ipod for his xmas and a new electric shaver for his birthday (27th December!)

DesperateHousewifeToo · 06/12/2008 20:16

Get him a roomba

dizzyjingles · 06/12/2008 20:17

itouch? my dh loves his and if you get it off the apple website they'll engrave it too

opens up getting itunes vouchers for future presents too!!!

MadMazza · 06/12/2008 20:17

Tom Tom or other sat nav system?

giddykipper · 06/12/2008 20:17

How much?

I've just ordered DP 'Rock Band' for his X Box

SheWillBeLoved · 06/12/2008 20:18

Budget is around the 250-300 mark for the main present, his stocking fillers alone have almost matched that

iPhone is something he's mentioned but i'm reluctant to get that as I know he wants the Blackberry Storm more and would end up getting it a coupe of months after me getting the iPhone.

He hates coffee but is an absoloute tea tank so I was trying to find a decent tea making machine that isn't me

You've given me some ideas, thank youuu! x

itouch then, its the same as the iphone but without the phone function iyswim?

digital photo frame with photos downloaded onto it?

a Wii?

nintendo DS with brain training!?

MadMazza · 06/12/2008 20:20

Do they still do those Teasmades? You know the ones that wake you up and make the tea - I wouldn't mind one of those actually - would save us arguing over who goes down to make the tea in the morning!!!

dizzyjingles · 06/12/2008 20:22

lol

where abouts do you live? the best things I ever gave as presents, according to DH were tickets to see Billy Connolly and tickets to the comedy store in London on Players night

does he have a favourite band/comic you could look for tickets for?

SheWillBeLoved · 06/12/2008 20:24

Dizzy - iTouch looks good, he's forever charging up his iPod and PSP for long train journeys to work so if he can roll those into one - even better!

MadMazza - They do Teasmades but he doesn't 'like' it he's a fussy one and if it doesn't look like some sort of space age gadget, he won't go near!

mini laptop?
eg asus eee

£250-300 . Our gift budget is about a tenner each!

dizzyjingles · 06/12/2008 20:27

Dh adores his Itouch and still uses it even though he has an iphone

well worth it if he likes to download music and my DH is a gadget man too - didn't even notice the engraving until I told him it was scratched on the back!

SheWillBeLoved · 06/12/2008 20:28

Umlellaa - he's not long got a new computer and it's me who wants a mini laptop the budget is for this year only as last year was abit stretched, and I might not even be able to meet that! It just becomes expensive buying for someone who already has everything he wants - he's one of those saddo's who'll queue up for midnight releases just to be the first who has it

OP posts:
Umlellala · 06/12/2008 20:39

Oh, I don't begrudge you it at all. Think the cine projector is good idea...

I want a mini laptop too but can't justify it. Dh has a Flybook -bought before the asus et al came out- that I am v jealous of. You've presumably scoured www.iwantoneofthose.com

Maybe you'd get better gifts in the pound shop (not being facetious but if he is more likely to buy the extravagant things himself). Could you do a stocking instead?

Otherwise, a watch? Or membership to something. Or a subscription? We have just bought SiL a year's worth of weekend Guardian/Observer delivery for her 40th (via local newsagent).

SheWillBeLoved · 06/12/2008 20:47

A stocking sounds good - i'm sure I could fill one of those with bits that'll keep him amused more than me making him watch Emmerdale does

ipod Bose docking system/speakers?

SheWillBeLoved · 06/12/2008 20:52

LaDiDaDi - he has one this is why i'm struggling haha x
