A peg bag for Christmas? A very nice, handmade, Bunting Cupcake stylee peg bag.

A peg bags a peg bag...however nice. Trust me I've been given one.

PuppyMonkey · 04/12/2008 14:37

Can think of less useful things... do you like it?

AMumInScotland · 04/12/2008 14:38

Frankly, disappointed, however lovely it was

It depends.

If it was from my DH, my MIL or child I'd be irritated. If it was a present from someone like a colleague at work or a friend I might chalk it up to someone being a bit ironic.

Nagapie · 04/12/2008 14:40

It would depend on the giver's circumstances ...

A useful, practical gift

wideratthehips · 04/12/2008 14:40

nice but its a bit like recieving an ironing board cover...a bit functional

sellorrenovate · 04/12/2008 14:40

Actually I'd be quite pleased, but then I don't own a peg bag. I've never adanced form a plastic bag

leoleomakingalist · 04/12/2008 14:42

I would want to love it but I would be disappointed.
Although my sister once phoned me and said I have got you a present I'll bring it over later.. She arrived with a peg basket and more pegs than you would need in a lifetime..

I don't use pegs, I use a tumble dryer so I would give the present to the charity shop.

I don't mean that offensively btw, just saying that's how I'd feel.

PrimulaVeris · 04/12/2008 14:45

I'd smile sweetly, coo over its design and say how kind, whilst inside feeling deeply gutted

RedSantaHatOnHerHead · 04/12/2008 14:47

far better than the kaftan i received last year! I was pregnant and DH's great-aunt thought it would be good to "hide" my pregnancy - I was 26 and married with one child already - whyever would I want to hide it??? Oh it was hideous - silvers, golds and pinks - and could easily fit 10 of me in it! I would have loved a peg bag instead!

flamesparrow · 04/12/2008 14:50

NappiesGalore gave me a peg bucket with birdy pegs. I loved it

Obv I would be a bit disappointed to have a second one, and I had expressed a liking for pegs so it was a sort of "i remembered" gift iyswim

PuppyMonkey · 04/12/2008 14:51

There's no pleasing some folk...

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 04/12/2008 14:53

Well I was at this craft fair you see and I bought these peg bags thinking they would be just the think for MIL and SIL (not tumble dryer sort of people). Not alone, but along with some lovely handcream and some notecards. Now I am getting cold feet - but they are v hard to buy for quite honestly.

shivermetimbers · 04/12/2008 14:53

I would be thrilled that someone thought enough of me to go to the effort of buying me a gift. What it is doesnt matter.

psychohohohoho · 04/12/2008 14:58

peg bag on its own, then gutted.

but as a bundle of gifts, some of the others a bit more personal, then I would be ok with it.

especially if it came with snazzy pegs

PuppyMonkey · 04/12/2008 14:58

I never buy gifts for MIL and SIl, so in that sense anything is better than nowt!

Tbh, sounds like a perfectly nice gift to me. Do it and let them dare judge you!

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 04/12/2008 15:00

If someone had bothered to hand make me anything I would feel very grateful. It shows that person has bothered about me and really thought about the present. However as ds keeps nicking all my pegs i'd me even more grateful if it was filled.

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 04/12/2008 15:00

Just seen you didn't make them yourself, i[d let them think that you did!

ILikeToHoHoHo · 04/12/2008 15:02

pmsl @ snazzy pegs.

The word snazzy always makes me chuckle

ByThePowerOfBaileys · 04/12/2008 15:03

got a gorgeous Cath Kidstone one last christmas - I couldn't have been happier
