I always buy my mum clothes which she loves. Theatre tickets? Make-up? Face cream?

janeite · 17/11/2008 20:59

Mine will probably get: the new Stephen King; a bottle of Baileys; a pack of "posh" coffee; some chocs and a crossword book and nice pen - all in a hamper for a quiet night in.

Mum is always moaning that she doesn't see enough of DH and I so for our Christmas pressie we are taking her and Dad out for dinner at a very nice restaurant near here.

i got my mum a pair of boots in the 'random' Scholl sale, Reiker ones, from £50 down to £13!! few months back now!!

well happy

I got my mom a ticket to see Katherine Jenkins in Dec and i shall get her some other bits and bobs too, maybe a top or nightie.

blossomsmine · 17/11/2008 22:30

Ruby...I think that is a lovely thing you are doing for your mum The true essence of Christmas, care and thought!
My mum has got a pilgrim necklace i bought in the sale a month or two ago, but is just 'her', also a magazine subscription as i bought her one last year and she LOVED it as thinks buying magazines on a monthly basis is frivolous, and then i noticed she needs a new dressing gown so will try and find one that is a reasonable price.

i have absolutly no idea!!! my mum is so difficult to buy for, she likes birds but dad buys her a ceramic one every year, she doesnt use perfume or wear makeup or jewellry, she likes to garden but usually cant be arsed, if she see's a new book or cd she likes she will just buy it. i have no idea what to get her and struggle every year to find something she will like

cariboo · 17/11/2008 22:49

I love my mummy & am going to set up her picture frame for her - zillions of photos of dc - and get her surfing the net. I told her to join MN, btw. I'll have to namechange tho - she knows about cariboo.

Will prob give her lots of books, tbh.

bubblerock · 17/11/2008 22:49

I'm really worried about what I've got my Mum! When I was little she bought me a Lundby dolls house and she absolutely loved it and still talks about it now, so I've bought her a Lundby Dolls house as she now has the room for it and can start collecting the furniture etc.. BUT - I could be way off the mark and she might think it's a stupid gift, I'm scared lol

Twims · 17/11/2008 22:53

I bought my mum several books and hen Sainsbury's had their 20% sale also bought her several tops as she keeps complaining she hasn't got any.

skramble · 18/11/2008 01:23

Glass heart pendent
Dove set.

MrsMattie · 18/11/2008 01:34

Got tickets for us both to go and see a concert of an artist she really loves.

dweezle · 18/11/2008 09:13

This - she's a keen knitter/crafter craft bag

mavornia · 18/11/2008 09:14

Liz Earle Superskin moisturiser

Crabtree & Evelyn Gardener's handcream and srub (I love this too - it's a great handcream)

Pack of 5 knickers from M&S and some nice socks (she never buys herself new ones)

M&S slippers

L'Occitane shea butter eye cream (you would think it would be too rich but it's fab and very comforting)

Prestat fondants

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 18/11/2008 09:16

A pair of olive tree's to sit either side of her front door.

My mother is impossible to buy for.
