In the sammyK household ds still playing with ELC Marble run, and a matchbox cars spooky house toy.

Thought this would maybe give us ideas on presents to buy that won't end up in the back of the oy cupboard.

Nintendo Wii. Loads of fun for all ages and I've lost nearly a stone over the year by having the Wii-Fit weigh me every day

A shapes puzzle from habitat - you just make different shapes - there's no right or wrong (apart from putting it back into the box), dress up paper dolls from m&s

psychomum5 · 02/10/2008 13:22

my boys were bought a mini pool table, they love that still.

plus they also got a marble run

DS2 still plays with buzz and woody from toy story.

DD3 still loves her dolls house

magnetix is a hit

and their DSlight.

beansmum · 02/10/2008 13:23

ds(4)is still playing with a brio train station and train to go with his ridiculously large collection. he didn't get much else.

SammyK · 02/10/2008 13:23

Think DP may be buying the boys a wii this year. The fitness side of it does appeal I have to say.

I used to love paper dress up dolls COT.

LunarSea · 02/10/2008 14:06

ds1:
Wii
Tabletop sized pool table
Racing bike (a big hit with the other local kids too as it's different to the Mountian bike style ones they've all got - it's "like in the Olympics" according to one!)

ds2:
Wheelybug

denbury · 02/10/2008 14:09

lazyhen · 02/10/2008 19:26

Ah it's my DD's first Christmas - she'll be 11 months...

yomellamoHelly · 02/10/2008 19:29

Ds1 (4 yrs) got 2 (!) boxes of craft stuff from his gps. Has been in constant use and constantly replenished.
Also "Dalmation Chase" game from Yellow Moon.

yomellamoHelly · 02/10/2008 19:31

Also Fisher Price Arts & Crafts Studio - though took 3-4 months to be cracked out of its box.

bozza · 02/10/2008 19:31

For DS it is definitely the DS, also the Liverpool shirt.

For DD it is the boy baby born.

redrobin · 02/10/2008 19:33

lazyhen...fill a box with helium balloons and watch her face as they float out (did it for my 11 month old last year, was brilliant - and cost about £5)

Flamebat · 02/10/2008 19:36

Spiderman DVD
Pirate PJs

Psychoboy2's Buzz n Woody
Psychoboy1&2's Pool Table

(You can bet they would be neglected here... well, not buzz n woody actually as DS does like toys).

This year is a DS between all of us - some git will bloody use it then!

spicemonster · 02/10/2008 19:41

lazyhen - my DS was 10 months last xmas and he still loves his FisherPrice train with peekaboo blocks from woolies which cost 20 quid I think.

Hulababy · 02/10/2008 19:43

DD (then 5y, now 6y) - her DS

janeite · 02/10/2008 19:44

Wii - we still play on it at least three times a week - and that's all of us, together, so well worth it for that reason.

DD1's manicure set and hairbrush! Plus her hamster in a ball thing (strange girl).

DD2's guitar (not that she can play it but she likes to mess around with it).
