Christmas Bargain Thread 8 - The one with the Vag Charms

[RainbowZebraWarrior]

Hi all. I'm just caretaking until Reastie returns, but here's our new thread. Please do use up the old one first though.

This is intended as a friendly, kind, safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

If you have any referral links or codes, please share them on the referral thread here:

A reminder that we don't use affiliated links on here please

🎄 Emoji to copy if required for posting bargains as some agree this makes deals easier to spot. (or post in bold)

Can anyone remind me about the whisky cake that has been mentioned on here a few times over the years?

I thought I had written it down in my notes, but it’s not there!

Do Whittards ever do sales / discounts / Black Friday offers? Interested in getting an advent calendar!

@CoffeeWithMyOxygen when it reopens after Christmas and until New Year - the deli discounts are deeper than those with long shelf life typically.

@InbetweenDreams I’ve been buying this cake for well over 15 years and it is lovely.
Walkersshortbread.com^^

@InbetweenDreams

We have the £5 morrisons sale one - brand is Giles and Posner. There is a 5-in-1 celebration one in Argos at the moment, down from £30 to £19.99. But fwiw, we had upgraded to a bigger one by January! 😋

That is an amazing set up! Very lucky children ❤️

That’s the one! I’ve seen it recommended a few times and thought I’d keep the idea in mind for my dad! Thanks so much!

@MyNameisLancelot weve had a selection of both Our Generation dolls from Smyths and Designafriends from Argos. Both nice dolls. However something to remember, Our Generation clothes will fit the DesignaFriends dolls but not the other way round as they are slightly smaller.

For any playsets you will probably get a good deal on marketplace or in charity shops. They don’t keep there value very well so are often sold off a lot cheaper.

It was an extra 10% off for signing up for their emails.

Thanks! Is there ever any discount on the Iets Frans joggers?

I got lots of plastic compatible junctions from temu with a sliding points mechanism and loads of female-female and male-male connectors. That really increased the track possibilities as they love making sidings, switchbacks, bypasses etc.
Favourite train is probably the Brio Mighty Red as you can use it as a battery train and a push along train. For a fast train the Mallard is quick (unsurprisingly). Ones they rate less are the bigger wooden trains as the double sets of wheels don't work so well at junctions.
The John Lewis trainshed is great, and the station where you record your message. Carriages that open at the top are good as then Playmobil/little animals can go for rides.

Thanks @NC2709 and @Gingerbreadseasoniscoming - that is so kind, and super helpful!

I’ve got a 20% off code if you’d like that?
It expires on the 19th November.

If you’re anywhere near Bicester, there is an outlet shop in the village. Often lots of sets in there

Does anyone know if the Body shop offer is still on? I cannot get it to work :(

I got 10% off Shark products by signing up to their newsletter direct on their website. They have also started their Black Friday sale.

The Baylis and Harding gift bags have gone up in price slightly but have a better delivery date https://amzn.eu/d/092K0djD

@Pinkladymel thanks so much for recommending that record player - just ordered it for my DH!

@AlexFurbison Thank you. I found that last night- wasn’t sure if it was going to work on already reduced items but it did! Got it for £212 - juts about acceptable!

Fuzzy Duck luxury slipper set For £12.75 with voucher, RRP £34

@captainflash brilliant! I was on there buying a vacuum so not quite as exciting but the discount made a big difference.

Playdoh brunch set £15 down from £40 at argos. I purchased one as a party gift last time they were reduced and ended up keeping it for a christmas present as it looked so good! https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7658754?clickSR=slp:term:playdoh%20brunch:1:29:1

Thanks that’s a great deal. Amazon also have it on offer if it saves anyone a trip into town

going to grab one for a friends dd who turns 3 at Christmas

🎄This looks very much in the realm of too good to be true, but there’s a gas camping stove on Amazon for just over £1.
