Can you help me find the most beautiful advent?

[StockingsByTheFire]

Can anyone recommend a really beautiful traditional advent. Card ones. Pictures behind the doors.

DNan used to get us all one from a cathedral when we were little. Some 35yrs ago.

They had the most beautiful illustrations. Sometimes a sprinkle of glitter. Sometimes hanging and shaped like a big Victoriana style Christmas tree. Sometimes just rectangular, or a stand up cut out of the Nativity.

Do such things exist these days? Budget not important. Really want to recreate for DC.

Thank you x

Loads online if you google traditional advent calendars . We send Advent cards to some of our family , which are the same but smaller .

I think this might be the one I bought last year. Its one where the pictures underneath actually add to the picture. The only downside was the glitter.

I get one every year. Available widely online, in bookshops and so on.

I've got them from Ebay before.

Amazon do them too. Search "traditional advent calendar"

There are some beautiful ones around. Have a look at The Art File, Angela Harding and there's a lovely Brambly Hedge one too...

I had the whippet Angela Harding one a few years ago, which I loved because the windows added something to the overall picture.

The artfile ones are lovely, I've had a couple of the animal winter scenes ones
You want to look for continuity advent calendars where the picture underneath adds to the original picture, rather than random pictures.
This old thread might help

Angela Harding here . Love them .

I'd not thought to Google "traditional advent calendar" 🙈🙄

Looking for recommendations of what people have actually had that have been really lovely.

Have now gone down a rabbit hole of continuity advent calendars though...

I came on to recommend Angela Harding advent calendars which I’ve bought for the past few years and are always gorgeous but see someone beat me to it. This year I think I like the look of this Angie Lewin one in the shape of an advent wreath https://www.stjudesprints.co.uk/products/angie-lewin-advent-wreath?fbclid=IwdGRleAVBa_1leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBwZG9mBWZkaWQWUQhxdyrgLuey9V_TgXPk0p2VzzfV-HNydGMGYXBwX2lkDzE3Mzg0NzY0MjY3MDM3MAABHkh4wH9noG_-BTT2QgB2popxJ0JsU1bNsoZpyu98yQmJAJocPvQe5GEQkh23_aem_oGBzWiYVDEHT6uR5fKIPHg

Amazon has loads. Just search for traditional or vintage advent. The Vermont Christmas Company Store and Coppenrath have the kind you are looking for and both sell through Amazon.
