Toddler stocking fillers

Thought it might be nice to have a place to share ideas for our toddlers stocking fillers.

im trying to cut down on huge expensive things that never get played with. So, so far for stockings I’ve got

  • colouring book
  • crayola twistables that I saw on sale
  • a mess free colouring set
  • a Peppa pig book that was only £1 in b&m
  • Some masking tape just because I know it’ll be a hit
  • a light up toothbrush

my toddler loves opening gifts though, so I’m aiming to get lots more little things to put in there. Any other suggestions?

Little girls love hair accessories. My Mum used to put some mini/novelty bubble baths in. She also put in a decoration every year so that when we left home we would have a good collection to take with us.

Floppyearedlab · 15/10/2026 23:06

New swimming costume/goggles
socks
bobble hat
sweets

24Dogcuddler · 15/10/2026 23:18

Duck or bath toy
playdough tub
fake snow to mix with water ( supervised)
bubbles
chocolate Santa
stacking cups
card matching game
Beanie toy

DD is nearly 4 and things she has adored includes

  • playmobil people
  • sticker sheets
  • Disney DVD of Cinderella
  • crafty bits - stickers or glitter glue or whatever
  • puzzles

How old?

Depending on age/ tendency to put things in mouth:

  • Sylvanian family babies
  • Dollhouse furniture
  • Polly Pocket
  • Lol Surprise Balls

Unusual fruit that they have never seen before is fun at that age. Get them puzzling about what to is, and then let them try it.

Hot wheels and small cars were always a guaranteed hit with my son

As was anything sticker based..

Badges of something they like work well, because they can wear them all day and show them to every person they see..

One that I would avoid though - any blind box or random type gift. I thought it would be fun, but it ended in tears because obviously you likely won't get the one you want.

A tree decoration highlighting an interest or event that year so that you and your child can track their childhood as they grow up and they can take the decorations with them when they leave home. Grandson is 7 now and he likes to ponder what bauble I will buy him each year. He has his on December 1st though to put on his tree in his room.
Spray soap for the bath, a rubber duck (character ones), wind up toy all go down well here.

I love the unusual fruit idea. These have been a hit with mine:

  • Organix or Aldi packet of gingerbread men
  • Character plasters
  • Cookie / play doh cutter
Oeiehdbe · 16/10/2026 07:02

Foamy soap is a big hit in our house, plasters too, often a cup ot water bottle, new character plate or bowl, bath bomb.
little craft sets they have in the works

glasshalffull0 · 16/10/2026 13:19

For my daughter this year we’re doing…

Something novel for the bath such as bubbles or a bath bomb of their favourite character

Those light up bath cubes

Play doh tubs

Favourite snacks (although I’m apprehensive about this as my 2.5 YO will definitely want to eat them there and then)

Water bottle

Tiara and wand

A little projector torch from sostrene greene (she randomly loves torches and lights)

Books

Socks

Oh I like to add something that’s not tooo ‘bad’
my littlest loves freeze dried fruit for example, and sometimes I’ll add a ‘fun’ cereal like the Bluey multigrain stars or something, which I don’t mind if they want to eat. I wouldn’t put sweets or anything in personally because I think mine are a bit young and a bit too hyperactive already for all that sugar for breakfast! (No judgement to anyone that enjoys them though!)

Depending on age:
Toddler musical instruments (Halilit make some good ones)
A pull-back friction car
Playmobil 1-2-3
Schleich animals
Bath crayons
Play Doh
Sensory balls

countrylifeorcitylife · 16/10/2026 14:46

For my toddler last year I did- swim toys, tonie, bubble bath, hair clips, books, gloves ummm

GrainoftuthSalt · 16/10/2026 23:11

Random, but - bubble wrap and a mini measuring tape!

XStitcher87 · 18/10/2026 06:13

B&M do this foaming bath wash in blue and pink. My toddlers love that at bath time and our nursery uses it for making up messy play trays.

XStitcher87 · 18/10/2026 06:14

Also, a flannel that comes compacted in shape that expands in the water. I think Boots have some paw patrol ones and Peppa pig

fortheloveofgardens · 18/10/2026 06:22

No spill bubbles
paint sticks on Amazon
stickers
light up bath toys
toothbrush
slinky

EntirelyUnnecessary · 18/10/2026 06:25

Biggest stocking filler hits for us at that age were:

-Story torch projector

-Snow globe (plastic not glass of course)

-Kaleidoscope

Reading2 · 18/10/2026 09:56

The game 'Go Find It' from the Sensory Trust. It is compact and excellent. Great for taking on holiday too!

EppingIsFun · 18/10/2026 11:14

Bluey/Bingo electric toothbrush from Boots!

I've beenookinh for a torch projector but a lot I've seen have terrible reviews. Any recommendations?

Leeds2 · 18/10/2026 21:51

Character bubble bath and shampoo.
Pavement chalks.
A ball.
Slippers.

HolyMoly24 · 19/10/2026 14:22

For my two year old daughter I’m planning on doing:

Sticker wow book
Sylvanian family baby bears
Fairy wand
Colouring pens (washable!)
Small drawing pad
Scribble scrubbie (or equivalent)
Torch
Sticker sheet
A mermaid Barbie for the bath

Ophy83 · 19/10/2026 16:46

Reading this I've remembered how much mine used to love the foam soap which they could make beards with. Also bath crayons and funny faces that stick to the bath tiles)

Lovely sparkly shoes/gloves from Accesorize (DD would have a fit if I got her anything sparkly now! 😭)

Love this thread. We have a three year old and I am doing exactly the same this year, lots of little bits rather than one big present that gets abandoned by Boxing Day.

Last year the biggest hits were honestly the silly things. A stack of sticker sheets kept ours entertained for ages, and a new rubber duck with some bubble bath made bath time feel like an event. We also tucked in a book where he already knew the characters, and he went mad for it because he recognised them straight away.

With our little one we have learned to lean into sensory things because that is what he responds to best, so this year we are trying little squishy balls, a story torch since he is obsessed with lights, and bath crayons.

One lesson we learned the hard way: keep the chocolate to one small thing. Ours polished off half the advent calendar on December 1st last year and then nothing could ever compete again.
