Hi al, I don't suppose someone could help me with the Mountain Warehouse code? Can't find it anywhere!

Try BIRTHDAY25

Some good prices in Argos currently. Worth double checking if you get a camels alert for a new low inc on Lego as some of them seem to be price matches.

Also saw some good Duplo prices in George today.

I need to get shares in Lego.

My DH has asked what I would like for Christmas, I would like something for my fibromyalgia. I suffer really bad from the cold and currently wearing the Uniqlo extra heat under layers and not warm enough.

Does anyone have any ideas for gifts for myself?

I wear a long sleeved vest, a jumper and a gilet when its very cold. And Nordic socks under over the ankle boot slippers.

Can anyone with tween or younger teen girls advise me please, which Uggs are the ones to have? Assuming they are still popular. Is it the mini's? Or are the trainers in too? What about leopard print and patterned styles? Seen some with the sun stitch pattern but not sure...

@ChristmasJumperz various discounted UGG here

How do I become a Costco member....

😉

You can set up a company with Companies House for £100, and use the certificate to get trade/business membership.

Homeedhelp25 · Yesterday 20:58

@SoPhoebe thanks so much, still working if anyone else needs it.

hby9628 · Yesterday 20:58

@Here4thethanks for the Argos Lego tip. My DD wants the tuxedo cat which is down to £72 from £90. Still pricey. Need to decide if I hold firm for black fri or take a punt 🤷‍♀️

I've got my eye on that one too. It looks really good! Camels is saying it's the lowest yet.

That’s an interesting idea about Costco trade membership!

However, registering a company means that anyone can find out your address just by going on the Companies House site on gov.co.uk:

https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/companies-house

Much as I love Costco, I value my privacy more, (which is why I am ‘private’ on the electoral register - or as private as possible!)

I don’t know if there are other issues - like the government suddenly expecting tax returns on a non-existent business!

Companies House

We incorporate and dissolve limited companies. We register company information and make it available to the public. Companies House is an executive agency, sponsored by the Department for Business and Trade .

Oh I didn’t know I could get membership with my profession! Is it worth the fee??

marshj81 · Yesterday 21:31

has anyone bought a weighted blanket recently? I am looking for one for my mum for Christmas but can’t afford to spend loads!

User202242 · Yesterday 21:34

https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7746484?cmpid=APP003 this seems a great price for a Gabbys Doll House!

IlovePond · Yesterday 21:42

@ChaosandCwtches I can get one too, (not the trade one), but have never bothered because I think you have either to buy a LOT to make it worthwhile or some high value items.

I haven’t got the space to store pallets of beans, etc. However, if you have a large chest freezer and storage space, it’s probably worth getting the ordinary card.

I used to go with a friend and loved it, so I do miss it.

Does Charlotte Tilbury ever do 20% off on the run up to Christmas? I know Darling15 gives 15% with a new account but I’m holding out for bigger

They had a great sale last year for black Friday for bundles and free gifts so depending on what you’re after it might be worth waiting!

This is a little niche but Liga have some lovely homeware and bits reduced.
It’s a family run eco conscious company, so would make great gifts for people who are into that kind of thing. They are very nice quality items. I’ve seen them in John Lewis before.

I’ve had my eye on some cork striped placements and coasters from there so am pleased to have got them heavily reduced.
https://loveliga.com/collections/summer-sale
They have some beautiful looking cup and bowl sets, and card holders and tea towels, plus magnets and bits for £1.
IMNEW10 code worked with sale items and I think it’s free delivery over £40.

Liga’s cork products are such good quality @Woweehooha. I bought a cork mat to protect my table from pots years ago and it still looks as good as new! I’ve actually gone off the pattern (whales) now but can’t justify changing it when they’re so well made.

Also on Costco membership, I’m a member and love it. I make the fee back on good quality compost and bark for the garden in spring then I use it for big tubs of Maldon sea salt, good quality olive oil and meat/fish for the freezer the rest of the year!! They do a great souper cube dupe for about a 1/3 of the price too.

IlovePond · Yesterday 22:07

@Ughy - I bought a pink OODIE from them - it was in perfect condition and I could still see bits of the original label.

I paid via PP and didn’t have any problems.

I've just been searching everywhere for some cereal bowls to replace a couple of Denby bowls that have got broken (and can no-longer be replaced).
Ended up on Argos and they seem to have an offer of 25% off selected homeware with COSY25. Also had £10 of nectar points thanks to various challenges and bonus points in the app so only paid £5.75.
If you shop even occasionally at Sainsburys it's worth downloading the nectar app, unlocking your offers and joining the challenges. I did a £31 top-up shop on Monday and got 1250 points!

IlovePond · Yesterday 22:10

@Solmum1964 - it’s worth looking on eBay and Vinted for old Denby. It also sometimes turns up in TKMaxx.

Thanks @IlovePond but tried everywhere. Couldn't get the colour I wanted and they were asking stupid money for what they did have - probably more than I paid for the whole 6 place setting set I have (bought through Tesco Clubcard Rewards when you used to get 3 or 4 times value).
It's our everyday set so not critical that it matches but I've signed up with Chinasearch in case they get any in.

Another vote for costco membership, if only for cheaper petrol. It always used to be about 10p per litre cheaper than anywhere else but only a few pence now thanks to the orange wotsit twit.

Anyway, love these threads every year, thank you all
