For those of us lucky enough to live near a Booths, today is the day we can place our order for collection! Xmas Grin

My order is in, but we will go later to collect our book, which I will then peruse at my leisure and amend my order after having had a good read through. This is the start of Christmas proper in the Fluffy house. Xmas Smile

When we first moved to Cumbria more than a decade ago this used to excite me and I would be almost first through the door to get the Christmas book .
I'm almost smack bang in the triangle of Keswick , Penrith and Windermere stores with Keswick the closest ( was in there yesterday ) but sadly it doesn't spark joy anymore and in the past few years haven't bothered to pick up the Christmas book .

Nomoredamnmats · 08/10/2026 08:46

I spurned the M and S Christmas catalogue yesterday because it could never live up to the standard of the Booths Book. And a Tesco stands where our local Booths once stood. Sad times.

FabulousFreshias · 08/10/2026 08:47

And even better, Saturday is tasting day in store! I’m planning on going to that, collecting my Booths Christmas book and then placing an order Smile

NestaVipaz · 08/10/2026 09:00

I just checked and it’s a 3+ hour round trip from me to the nearest Booths, godammit.

SaraHoliday · 08/10/2026 09:05

So jealous! Booths is the best 😍

anicewovenrug · 08/10/2026 09:12

Thank you @NoWordForFluffy I was wondering when it was...will pick up a book at the weekend...the festive season here is going to see a bit of belt-tightening (financially!) but will enjoy seeing what new treats they have on offer and I'm sure we can fit a couple of things in!

Nofeckingway · 08/10/2026 09:15

Very much suffering FOMO now . Never experienced Booths but do love a Christmas book .

My kids adore the Booths element of Christmas. I couldn't ditch it even if I wanted to (I don't!). Xmas Grin

@Nofeckingway I think they trialled delivery nationwide a few years ago, but it obviously didn't work for them as it wasn't repeated. Maybe you need an excuse to come up to our beautiful part of the world for a weekend treat...their shops are in some lovely market towns?

Tallisker · 08/10/2026 10:59

The Book is out? How have I missed this?

Keswick’s my closest too ☺️

You’ll be a Cranston’s fan too, then?

Same here @GoldMoon though we've been here nearly 30 years. I don't really get the Booths fascination. When we first moved I did shop there as it was a bit of a novelty but that soon wore off when I realised how much more I was spending on food! I drop in if I have forgotten something and happen to be passing but that's about it now. I don't know many people who do their main shop there.
It's a bit like Tebay services. I guess if you stop there once or twice a year on your holidays it seems a bit special but we are up and down the M6 between home and elderly ILs most weeks and I just find it over priced and a bit pretentious. Though you can at least get a Diet Coke and bar of Dairy Milk in the petrol station if you don't fancy remortaging for cocoa beans picked by virgins under a full moon in the Andes, washed down by a bottle of mermaid's tears...
Booths is in the same kind of category to me, but I hope those who appreciate it get things they enjoy in their Christmas order.

anicewovenrug · 08/10/2026 11:32

As you say @MrsAvocet (fab name btw) for most of us it's not for the weekly shop, just now and again for high days and holidays...oh, except their crumbly Lancashire cheese, I'd go there any day of the week for that 😙

TorroFerney · 08/10/2026 12:10

Hooray they have the cockerel cushion again, we enjoyed that last year. Husband will be going into town to collect the book later.

Glad I'm not the only one , I come all over Ba' humbug when I see it .
Perhaps I chase you around Cumbria , as I was in Tebay the other week and they had jumpers in there at £358 !
Not sure you'd find jumpers at any other motorway stations for that other than ones that operate under the same company .

What!!! I have just been in my local Booths and no Christmas books to be seen. I shall be in tomorrow and having words with the manager!!

5foot5 · 08/10/2026 12:47

It's Booths day!

A big pile of them in Knutsford just inside the foor

WhiskyandWater · 08/10/2026 13:05

I’m so jealous, love Booths (and find it decent value compared to m and s or Waitrose, especially at Christmas). I’ll be having a long look online tonight and wondering if I can fit the journey in to do an order to collect

NoWordForFluffy · 08/10/2026 13:14

We're going to our local one (Burscough) later on. I can't wait to get my mitts on the book! And hope that this is my year to win one of the golden tickets. 🤞🤞

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 08/10/2026 13:42

Aww we used to live near Burscough, that's a lovely Booths. There's a big play centre nearby as well isn't there, it's ideal - one parent has to parent and the other gets to go to Booths!

NoWordForFluffy · 08/10/2026 14:24

I don't know about the play centre as we only really go to Burscough for Booths-related purposes! It is a nice Booths. Hesketh Bank is our next closest; that's quite small.

Going to call my DM now and ask her to pick me up a book. Love Booths

Additup · 08/10/2026 14:40

I love Booths, its northern Waitrose but better 😊

Perfectnightssleep · 08/10/2026 16:44

You can get some Booths products, including cheese and wine, on Amazon Fresh if you're outside the Northwest/Yorks.
