i have enough decs fur four trees (seriously, I used to put two up in my house and had a blue and champagne themed tree for our London flat plus extras), so I only change the table/mantle /wreath theme. I think Nordic white but I have little white tea candle houses and fake snow for that. But this year we are going to my sons house by the sea so thinking of bringing the blue/champagne decs there. Might be tempted by a few sea themed decs? Quite rustic though, like driftwood.

Oh where have you seen sea themed decs??

Please don’t judge me but pink/ purple/ bright green tinsel to put around all the pictures in the house to crazy it up a bit! (It’s been A Weird Year!!)

I for one won't be judging you as that sounds lovely and colourful. I was actually saying to my friend the other day I miss pink and purple on the fairy lights as they all seem to be red, green, blue and orange if you get coloured ones these days. If anyone knows where to get more traditional coloured lights please let me know as I'd be so grateful.

Lart year I had white, pale pink, pale green and iridescent (is that how you spell it 🤔) I actually liked it as it fitted the decor in my new house so might have it again, but toying with the idea of going full on retro 80's/90's!

We had white and a few years ago got coloured lights and it definitely made the room more fun!!! Found in the local hardware shop! We put the white ones outside s as nd people were saying how stunning it was, I was giggling thinking ‘if they only saw the chaos of the Christmas tree inside!!’

I'd like a cat-safe tree. That might mean ordering a side table large enough for the tree to stand on, maybe? We have a lot of adopted cats and often foster kittens, so the tree needs to be off the ground.

I'm not after any new decorations but I AM after a real tree for the first time in a decade!

I got old fashioned coloured lights in Aldi a couple of years ago, and there were even more last year. Bit plasticky, but there were flower and lantern shapes, and they are a nostalgic delight. Two minor issues; they have 7 flashing options before the on option, and so I have to push the button 8 times whenever I turn them on, also the strings are quite short. 3 sets on my 6 foot tree - I REALLY wish all the flashing options were AFTER the non-flashing one 😂

The smell of a real tree- yum!!!!!!

This year I shall mostly be decorating the house with reindeer heads on sticks.

I want to buy some lanterns and some more garlands for my fireplace. I also want to get some hanging star lights for the windows at the front of my house. don't need anything for my tree, although the children will get their annual bauble each.

Plain glass ornaments for my tree. Any sentimental ones that don’t fit the brief are well hidden in the foliage like the bright yellow Christmas cracker my DD made at school about 40 odd years ago.

Try Lidl/Aldi one of them definitely had some last year.

I’m not looking for decs specifically as I have too many (and recently bought 3 as we went to 3 new places on holiday) but I am looking for a centre piece for the table. It’s new this year, its also our first year at home for dinner in about 7 years and our first one hosting in 10+ years.

I picked up a candy cane stripe table runner and a cream/gold table cloth in the sale a few months ago but not sure what to look for and hoping inspiration strikes when the Christmas stuff comes out

I’m looking for a beautiful red tablecloth. We’re having a nice buffet instead of the traditional roast, and the table is going be the red tablecloth, wooden platters and greenery and tartan ribbon weaving in and out. In my head it looks stunning!

A couple of new cushions for the sofa. I like about 2-3 each end.
Our table cover is a gorgeous paisley red/green so not Christmas pattern but very festive colours.
Sadly no tree real or otherwise as our two cats are utter varmints who make it their mission to destroy.
DH is decorating the hall so a nice doormat just for Christmas and maybe a tall lantern for the corner (LED candle) Home Sense will be worth a look for that.

I'm growing ivy and hebe in pots so an outdoor solar or LED light in the foliage will be nice.
I have a few Christmas plates to add into our white table setting but could add a couple more - Home Sense again.

I have so much Christmas stuff collected over many years and found the last few years I found it all a bit overwhelming and too much. So this year will be very pared back and simple. We have also decorated the kitchen/sitting/dining areas and have new furniture in the living room and decorated the hall, stairs and landing. So I think things will feel different anyway.

Planning on getting all the Christmas stuff down from the attic in early October and having a good sort out.

I wanted a red tablecloth for when the table is extended but all the ones I found and had previously had also went wider when you want the longer length (er the table extends in one direction)

I bought some red curtain lining as the 138 width was ideal

anyone looking for large red or green tablecloth's i would suggest a flat cotton mix sheet. its nice and big lots of colors covers the table really well and no hemming
