Is it normal to think/be excited for Christmas this early?

I suspect not but I’m already thinking about Christmas 🫣 not that the general plan ever changes, we always have it just me, dh and dc at home (no one ever wants to go away, which I’m fine with). Do other people also think about it so early in the year??

Can I point out this is a christmas Forum usually full of people who love christmas?

Or shall we all go to a holiday Forum when we get to winter and tell people to live in the present and enjoy christmas and winter before thinking of their summer holidays....

No. The only good thing about it is that once it’s over you can think about spring. I’m massively cutting back on Christmas spending this year too.

No.

No you're weird. I love Christmas not in may.

Monty36 · 24/05/2026 12:37

Very unusual. Unless you were planning a big trip away.
I wouldn’t let it bother you.

I absolutely love Christmas , I’ve already started shopping for gifts , not a fan of summer so I look forward to autumn and winter and Christmas instead .

What does that mean - December 1st box?

You know the Christmas Eve Hamper ?
Pyjamas, annual, some biscuits, hot chocolate sachet , bath bomb.
Not the What Fresh Hell Is This More Plastic Tat , Don't They Get Enough Presents
But hyper excited small children Let's get you calmed down with a bath, new pyjamas, drink, biscuit and a quiet read

Mine are in their twenties so years back they wanted ( especially DD) to use the nice beauty items through December . I used to do a Beauty Advent Calendar but it morphed into the Dec 1st

I buy my son a years supply of work socks/gym socks/boxer shorts/some loungwear Tops/Trousers / and add in some shower gel and Lush Kalamazoo.
DD has a couple of pairs of winter pyjamas, make up , beauty care , nail polishes , hair care , branded underwear

Add some chocolate

They don't go mad at Christmas and it means they start Dec with some new things that they need and use anyway .

They have winter/festive bedding that comes out every year
The pyjamas get worn all winter and recycled when outgrown or worn out
