Fuck… I need to start wrapping!!

I drove home from family this morning. 3hrs. Then did the food shop. Home at 4. I had every intention of starting to wrap, but have drank half a bottle of sherry and watched two Christmas films instead 😆

My back is absolutely WRECKED after sitting on the living room floor 3 nights in a row wrapping. Think I’ve bought too much stocking stuff so when I finish wrapping tomorrow night I might need to label some…. Which means I need more labels :’(

DH and I both really dislike wrapping. This Xmas we have a new foster ds. He looked up and asked if he could help with wrapping. He's really good at it and has wrapped up all gifts for my 2 adult ds's stockings and ds gf too. Tomorrow he is going to wrap MiL and BiL gifts and his own gifts to DH, me, older FS and MiL. I shall only have to wrap his, older FS gifts and gifts for DH tomorrow. I might even get to bed before midnight.

I said I wouldn’t buy much and only really finished wrapping tonight 😭

I invested in these last year. It’s so much easier and quicker than sissors and a bog standard sellotape. I have some of the drawstring gift bags for the awkward shaped gifts.

I’m going to start buying fabric gift bags that I can use year after year! I am a terrible wrapper!

Who wraps stocking fillers? Just put into bags and put persons name on the bag.

@SeaUrchinHat-same here re Christmas excess - I'd rather we all got rid of an item for Xmas than bringing in more 'stuff'. We don't buy tat, but I just don't want an other 'thing' in my house. Yo ho ho and all that 🤣🌲🥂

We wrapped last night for DC as they were both out. Usually its late night Xmas Eve despite best laid plans which is not ideal.

However, I had a big panic on Sunday when I couldn't find a couple of family presents I'd stashed to wrap (perimenopause...I eventually found them) and I thought I'd better do it in advance in case I have to run to the shops for any replacements of lost things today 😬

DH wraps - not a scrap of paper wasted when he does it so even though we were sailing close to the wind paper-wise, we made it. Just need to put stockings together tonight which is the bit I love! No wrapping, small stockings - like a game of Tetris seeing what fits in!

House is an absolute shambles though and I have cooking to do today, quick (?!) supermarket run plus plenty other Xmas and non-Xmas jobs so there's that...

I clearly wrap stocking fillers. It makes opening it last longer so I can wake up a bit more before the day kicks off.

Use the ironing board, can adjust the height to your sofa/chair, flat wide surface and your wine glass goes where the iron usually sits.

Same reason I wrap them, it slows DS down so he's in bed longer. He's allowed to open his stocking in bed and I stick chocolate coins in that he's allowed to eat. Opening them gives me a few more minutes in bed too. Although he's 13 now so I might get a sleep in 🙏

I has a babysitter last night for the first time since the youngest was born. I am exceptionally hungover. I probably have 40 to wrap. I want to hide.

Screw wrapping on Christmas Eve. 4pm is the Christmas Eve deadline after which you chill out with a drink/ watch a shite Christmas movie / go to a carol concert/ play boardgames / whatever.

My mum has been ill so I’ve been to and fro at the hospital. I’m behind on everything, that we even have food for tomorrow is a minor miracle. I don’t even have some of the presents as they’ve not arrived. I am so stressed and worried.
