Hi, can anyone recommend a ‘real life’ looking baby. Last minute request from my 6 year old. I haven’t got a massive budget, up to around £35.

Have you tried vinted? Someone I know got one from there relatively cheap

PercyJ · 14/12/2025 20:57

Grandmother to 3 reborn/ real looking babies here (and another on the way for Christmas) - all of ours are from vinted - people make them and sell them on there so they are lots of new ones too 😊

You aren’t a grandmother to a doll!

My daughter’s was from Vinted too- little famous baby as she’d been a prop from a film. Word of warning- remember which Vinted parcel is which, I opened a parcel on a dark December night and screamed the place down when a saw a little baby face looking at me. Had been expecting it to be a hoodie for my eldest 😆😆🤪😳

I need to remove my eyes and lie down.

My young daughter would disagree

A child? But you can’t think it is your grandchild?! It’s a dol

ItsameLuigi · 14/12/2025 21:49

BatchCookBabe · 14/12/2025 21:53

FlorenceAndTheVagine · 14/12/2025 22:05

Why did I open the link why did I open the link

OP when you say realistic, do you mean these ~ terrifying~ reborns or something like a Baby Annabel or Baby Born?

PInkyStarfish · 14/12/2025 23:02

I want to get this one and walk around with him in a pram and see if anyone freaks out .

I’m gonna have nightmares tonight. I just know it!

LynseyDenton · 14/12/2025 23:24

I got my daughter one on Amazon, just searched reborn doll and a good few options came up. It was around £35 I’m sure.

She takes it everywhere. A word of warning - don’t leave it in the car unattended 😬 people will think it’s real.

I’ve also had several comments - “oh my GOD I thought that was a real baby!” (daughter was holding poor baby Evie upside down at the time…)

BatchCookBabe · 14/12/2025 21:55

OMG some of the 'babies' on that link are terrifying! 😱

Hahahah yeah I know. My daughter's obsessed with reborn dolls though 🤣

FFS why does it matter to you?

Butterontoast · 15/12/2025 12:03

She already has a baby born and wants a more realistic doll

Hamleys used to have gorgeous baby dolls. I think the brand was Corolle. Not sure if they still do but might be worth a look.

Maddyisqueen · 15/12/2025 15:24

That looks like a doll
to me

PercyJ · 15/12/2025 21:44

This is Billy, one of my 'grandkids' 😉he was a vinted purchase.

I find these completely disturbing but having almost lost a child I can sympathise how they could help people in that situation and bring them comfort.

I personally don’t think they’re appropriate as a long term crutch and totally inappropriate for anything else including for children to play with. They look too real and could encourage people to live in a fantasy world where they think the doll is real. They could also be confusing to members of the public who might think they are real, and got knows what other vile reasons people might want them.

I've had such a rubbish day, thanks for the laugh! I can just picture the scene 🤣
