Thread 20 - the one with Christmas?

I'm taking a punt that this one might see us until Christmas. Will likely live to be proved wrong but let's go with the punt!

The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

@Ewock - someone on here said that shining a light through the packaging lets you see which animal cards are actually inside.

Great offer on boots no 7 make up. When you buy two products you get a free face and eye palette and as long as your order is over £20 you can use the code NO7SAVE10 for £10 off! So three products for around £10 🥰

Thank you SO much for this.

Added my usual mascara & foundation which comes to just over £30. Had 10% off everything on my Boots app & the £10 off took it down to £17. Absolute steal.

Bought a present for me (lovely aunt gave me money for my recent birthday) of the Boots STAR gift skin care - which I use. Was £85 now £39, but £35 with my 10% off. Special deal you get £10 of points if you buy this, & another £4.50 of points if you spend over £45, so £14.50 of Boots points, making it about £20!!!! The moisturiser alone is usually £27.

I am SO chuffed. I won't use a few bits in the box, but can easily pass on or pop in with another gift.

BLC at Crocs has a 50% off on all full price & a further 20% off sale plus free p&p

I got hard to find colour of lined Crocs for £29.99 delivered. Good deal.

Mistysmom · 13/12/2025 16:39

Has anyone got a student beans code for superdrug please? Looking for Rabanne Invictus and cant find a decent price anywhere. Thanks in advance, I can repay the favour with a BLC in the future if required 🙏

Just an FYI, the Oddballs code SANTA10 gives you 10% off everything. If you have non-sale items in your basket you can also get, 10% off no min spend, 15% off £50, 20% off £60 spend with BLC. They stack so you can get 10% off sale bits and 15% off full price items.

I couldn't get SANTA10 to work on sale, never mind!

I picked up my free L’Occitane shower gel from Anthropologie today. I had given up hope of it ever appearing and then it did. Huge thanks to the OP who first mentioned this - sorry, I can’t remember who it was.

watchuswreckthemic · 13/12/2025 16:52

@IlovePondyou’ve given me hope! I don’t mind mine taking ages but they’ve also taken a random amount out of my bank account too.
im on parcel watch for 3 parcels still including an advent calendar 😂 so did some irl shopping today. TK Maxx had these claw machines which looked decent for £24.99

Can I ask I have got my MIL one did you find it looked nice in the box or I have a small basket I could transfer the contents to with ribbon etc which do u suggest I do ?

Just be aware the best before dates on this are often very short, I ordered one for a friend and she couldn’t eat the cakes before the BB date had passed, I think it was 2/3 days.

Oh my goodness. Work has been a bin fire, i’ve fallen off the threads and soooo behind! There was talk of shoe driers on an earlier thread. Has anyone got any links or recommendations?

Snowpea are the ones that get mentioned on here a lot.

IlovePond · 13/12/2025 18:03

Hi @hugsandpugs thanks for the Boots no7 info. I can get the £10 off but it’s not adding a free palette to my order.

Am I doing something wrong or has the offer ended?

Thanks

Edited: Just realised it has to be make up and/or the indulgent range 🙈

Does anyone have any good recommendations for food gifts that can be sent to family? Ideally £40-60. I’m panicking!

Piglets pantry are really nice!

Has anyone ever tried to get a refund from Groupon? My degusta calendar never showed up and they say they will only give me credit

No, but I did a charge back through my credit card on them in a similar situation and it was ruled in my favor.

IlovePond · 13/12/2025 18:46

@VeruccaSalty - I only tried to use Groupon once - it went horribly wrong and I lost my money. Hopefully you have more luck doing a chargeback than I did.

Sweetzy offers sweet hampers. They’ve got some good offers on this weekend. I’ve just ordered a Christmas bundle with 500g pick and mix, 250g chocolate mix, 250g Christmas mix, 6 filled crackers and 9 filled baubles. It’s £20 but they give a code for 15% off plus a free gift on the site. So I paid £21 inc delivery for all that. I love sweetzy sweets and we often get packs for birthday or Christmas gifts Sweetzy deal

Have ordered this. Thank you for the recommendation!

Amazon have 15% or 20% off some gift cards. Ideal for last minute gifts.

MamaClausToTheRescue · 13/12/2025 20:37

i picked up the game “5 second rule relay” in home bargains earlier today for £4.99. It’s on offer at Amazon for £10.87 at the moment and seems to have great reviews so seems like a bargain if anyone is looking for a family game for a gift or the festive season.

I don’t know if this is “blankety”enough, but I’ve bought this for my MIL. Bought it in the shop and got it because it was so super soft.

Thanks so much! Am all sorted now :)

VeruccaSalty · 13/12/2025 21:21

Thanks for the Groupon advice, I replied and said that it is UK consumer law that a cash refund must be offered if the goods were not provided. The 'customer service agent' replied "you are absolutely right it is UK consumer law" in a suspiciously AI way and provided link for refund, which was processed immediately. So end of a two month, two missing advent calendars saga. Not as satisfying as would have expected

I've used Tasty Tarts Middlesbrough before for letterbox boxes. Their dessert tapas are amazing. They have a FB page.
