Gift ideas for DH - what are you getting yours?

Need inspiration for gifts for my DH please and wondered if it would be useful in general? A couple of years ago, there was a good thread with ideas for gifts for husbands/partners!

In my case, DH says he has everything he needs/wants when I’ve asked him. And generally buys himself whatever he wants throughout the year.

Normally, I’ve done experiences - fancy restaurants, gigs. He likes cycling, running, football, DIY, endurance stuff. Also likes a gadget - got him Apple tags a few years ago recommended by thread and it was great. Other successes were good leather hold-ons and travel bags.

We have agreed on nothing for each other for Christmas. We will book a night away in the new year, could you book a night away in January

Twittwoooodoyou · 07/12/2025 20:18

I have decided to put together a year of dates for my DH. 12 in the house and 12 out of the house, so 2 dates a month.

Big hits in the past have nights away in different types of accommodation like a house boat and a helicopter.

OSTMusTisNT · 07/12/2025 20:21

PS5, couple of games, bottle of rum, beer, M&S Chocolates (only Chocolates in the entire world he'll eat).

Would like to get a few stocking filler type things but can't think of anything.

(This is a super extravagant year tbh, never normally spend this amount on him).

Strollingby · 07/12/2025 20:25

Japanese kitchen scissors (he keeps complaining about ours and he loves a hori hori from the same company), bottle of favourite brandy, mushroom growing kit. Might get some mushroomy food bits to go with.

So far new shaver and a bottle of port so not very exciting. If ever I buy clothes they end up being sent back ...not long enough in body/doesn't like/ arms too short ext ext. Likes to read theology but definitely chooses his own books for that. Tried to get interesting reads for him but it's harder since kindle. I used to look; n have a bookshelves and could easily see what he already had. No idea now. I think I am going to add on a surprise couple of nights away ...added bonus is I will also really like that 😁

shiningstar2 · 07/12/2025 20:28

Will also get some Italian chocolates ...which he loves.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 07/12/2025 20:40

Baerskin hoodie/outdoor jacket.
If he needs longer/bigger/taller Espionage do decent sizing.

My 6ft 7 husband buys a lot from 2tall as they specialise in clothes that are just longer, not wider.

I was thinking of buying some coffee beans (nice ones / big pack) for our machine if anyone has any recommendations?

Previously I've gone work clothes, knives, chili sauces, an old map of our area, back pack, coffee cup/water bottle, tennis stuff

Hoping for more inspo if anyone has some?

CoffeeBeansGalore · 08/12/2025 04:40

@Squiggles23 Grumpy Mule coffee beans are good. We get them from Costco. I believe M & S do them as well.
Nice/personlised coffee mug?

Thermal gloves
Bamboo socks
Solar power bank
Car accessories - de mister pad,, windshield cover, new mats, etc. A cold weather emergency pack to keep in the boot - thick blanket, water, warning sign/flashing light, torch, biscuits, sweets.

A sourdough bread starter kit is something he won’t be expecting this year. We love the pure bread (some have preservative/bulker in them) and it’s expensive to buy so it seemed a win, win for both of us.

MinnieMountain · 08/12/2025 05:52

A new wallet. We don’t normally do presents but his is knackered.

Rainbow898 · 08/12/2025 07:22

Running gloves
Waterproof running jacket
Vans hoodie
Slippers
Socks (standard)
Ciders
Beard balm
Shokz headphones for running
friend mentioned a cheese making kit she is getting hers….

PersephoneParlormaid · 08/12/2025 07:24

Walking socks, cheese hamper, book.

My husband is always losing his keys and phone so has had the samsung tiles for a while for these (same as an air tag)
This year I have bought him a wallet one, its long and flat like a bank card so fits without being too bulky.

Hes also into DIY and I try to get him some sort of gadget every year for this. For this year I've for him a magnetic wrist thing for screws etc

For beans : Monmouth, Tigermoth, or Pharmacie

I got my DH a charcuterie subscription (mainly because I’m fed up of him eating all the sandwich ham…)

I did a gift subscription for my husband from Rave Coffee

Stompythedinosaur · 08/12/2025 08:24

My dp has the audacity to have a birthday just before Christmas so I have to think of double presents!

He's getting a gas pizza oven for the garden/camping for this birthday and some comedy gig tickets, a jumper and some extra carving tools for Christmas.

itsalwayssunnyhere · 08/12/2025 13:57

Portable charger
Upgraded versions of favorite cologne or aftershave
Skincare
Tickets to a show or a gig?
Subscriptions to software he might need? Like a good photo editor (here is a list for Macbook air) or a good video editor, etc
Gift card to a store he buys sport equipment from
A box of protein bars
A Lego set maybe? My sister's bf is late 20s and loved getting a Harry Potter lego as a birthday gift last year 😀

laddersandsnakes12 · 08/12/2025 14:06

A bottle of whisky that is a bit more expensive than the stuff he usually drinks and a couple of vinyls from his fave noughties indie bands for our record player so far. The record player was a gift from him to me last year and it’s great because now if we are struggling for gift ideas there are always albums to buy each other - like the olden days before streaming 😄. Then I’ll probably pick a book of some kind up for him and some chocolates. We don’t do big presents really anymore, but always like to buy a few nice things for each other.

curious79 · 08/12/2025 14:08

there is a brand called Katto. Hand forged in Sheffield knives. They have an amazing pizza slice, one that would have all kitchen and knife obsessed men salivating. Im getting one for my DH

LostThestral · 08/12/2025 14:14

A large lego set & a couple of other things he wants for his hobby

UnderThePressure · 08/12/2025 14:38

I'm getting a decent water bottle for when he goes hiking and a painting he pointed out in a vintage shop. We don't get each other anything usually but we're in a slightly better place financially this year so we've agreed a small budget 😊

I did similar to this!
I only did 1 a month, but some of them are quite big like city break and seeing a show he will like. Some are cheap but stuff we never do.

Tdcp · 08/12/2025 14:54

We're not supposed to be gifting each other this Xmas as we need an oven but he's had a tough time of it so I've got him a sentimental picture of the stars on the night our kids were born.

It is his birthday next week though so I've got him a camo net and monopod as he photographs wildlife :)
