Thread 14 - the one where I'm still not sure what a cheese spoiler is

Welcome to Christmas 2025!

This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread here and share around the joy/referral perks.

I've just had a text telling me that Total Racking Solutions are delivering to me later today. WTF have I bought 😐 I've checked my list and there's some candles, Gruum, socks and BubbleT on the way. Nothing needing a pallet or is there

Whyisitsodifficult · 10/12/2025 11:30

Any offers on loccitane specifically the men’s range? Lavande Poivre Noir.

Could it be a scam @OneForTheHoneyTwoForTheSnow?

Toooldforlonghair · 10/12/2025 11:40

Not the usual query but could save me a considerable amount of money delivery etc and possibly help others with family abroad.

DS is making an unexpected flying visit from Dublin at the weekend and is travelling via BA so is not subject to the usual 'Tesco carrier bag and a packet of crisps' luggage restrictions of the budget carrier and is bringing a proper cabin case and has offered to take back and deliver presents for me. My query is: does anyone know if you can carry food/drink gifts bought and wrapped at home, not Duty Free purchases in cabin luggage?
I usually travel by ferry so can take the 'world and his dog' - literally in the case of dog!

Once again thanks to all you lovely MN Christmas ladies.

Has anyone ordered from Worthing books before? They have loads of offers including usborne sticker books but I've never used them before and it sounds too good to be true...
I'm also after monty bojangles chocolates if anyone has spotted any offers on their cat tins? Thanks!

Boots has the cat tins in their 25% off gift food so £11.25 instead of £15. Though annoyingly they delivered one of mine with the packaging all bashed and are now ignoring my request for a replacement

Alicorn1707 · 10/12/2025 11:45

@Toooldforlonghair the advice still stands

Don't wrap the gifts, could use open gift bags?

Or son could wrap when he's back in Dublin?

eta; Yes, you can carry food/drink gifts through Dublin Airport from the UK, thanks to their new scanners, but do not wrap them in hand luggage

also, the 100ml liquid rule is gone for Dublin (up to 2L allowed)

FurForksSake · 10/12/2025 11:57

Amazon haul code is haul50, it’s also a tick box on the items if that’s easier. It stacks with free delivery and takes 50% off your whole basket as long as you order more than 2 items. I’ve just bought £47 for £19 and I’m very pleased.

Justkeepsmilingx · 10/12/2025 11:59

LonelyMom123 · 10/12/2025 10:51

How do you get the Haul voucher please?

Just go into the Haul part on the banner at the top of Amazon, then at the top of the Haul section the voucher should be there. You can either click ‘redeem’ or add the code it says.

Possibly. But equally possible I've ordered 5000 Chocolate Oranges or something because they were a bargain.

I was watching some Christmas prep ahead lady on Instagram last week before doing the Sainsburys online shop and I added all the Christmas veg to it so I could prep and freeze it. And then promptly forgot any of that and was cursing myself when it all arrived yesterday.

I think I might need to up my HRT Grin

Pinkladymel · 10/12/2025 12:17

Did anyone ever get their hi vis lime green snoods? So annoyed because they were £2.99 but £7.01 has been pending in my bank since dec 4th. I hope they won't take the wrong amount.. not heard a thing from them!

HouseWithASeaView · 10/12/2025 12:19

Thank you for the names of and recommendations for the instant photo printers. I have no idea why I couldn’t get any of those results with a google search! They’re about 3x more expensive than I realised so I’m now delivering whether to get a knock off, go for it or leave it.

TK Maxx had all sorts of things when I was in there yesterday including bags of various sizes in Christmas fabric to be used as gift bags.

Any help for the Paw Patrol Lookout Tower My Size. It’s in Smyths for £80 but each vehicle is £10 so it would be £140 all in 🙁 DS has his heart set on it and he’s had a rough few months so I’d like to get it for him but budget would be £80-£100 max!! None second hand in my area

Im just catching up with this thread but theres loads on my local fb page if you're still looking. Feel free to pm me

Does anyone else sit waiting for the kids to go to bed so you can look inside parcels and remember what the heck you even ordered? 😂

mummyof2boys30 · 10/12/2025 06:23

dancemom · 10/12/2025 12:35

all shopping and wrapping done except for one gift for a 17 year old girl who has no interests other than sitting on her phone and watching the tv 🙈

she’s a fussy eater so no food or sweets, not into make up or personal care or hair products. Clothes are a no as don’t know her size. Not interested in stationary or wall prints or toiletries, asked about a nice water bottle or a tote bag and was told no so really at a loss. Budget about £20 but not a voucher.

help please? 🙏🏼

Socks and/or hot water bottle?

Throw blanket (maybe from a TV series if you know what she watches, otherwise something that co-ordinates with the bedroom)?

Cuddle cushion (not sure if that will be in budget though)?

Personalised snack bowl ?

WhyDoesItAlways · 10/12/2025 13:09

Can anyone recommend a smoothie/milkshake maker - more bargainous the better? Looking to spend up to £40. I want to get DS9 away from making nesquik and using fresh ingredients instead and encouraging him to experiment with flavours. Thinking a smoothie maker might be best to properly blend strawberries and bananas etc.

InbetweenDreams · 10/12/2025 13:10

H&M have free next day delivery on orders over £40 until 10pm tonight.

I can recommend a Breville Active Blend, £19.99 on Amazon, £20 in Argos, £25 in Asda and Robert Dyas. We use it daily for smoothies and protein shakes and it's still going 3 years later. It doesn't cope well if filled entirely with just frozen fruit, but even my Kenwood mixer needs a bit of liquid for that.

shinny · 10/12/2025 13:29

I was going to suggest a Nutribullet as that’s what we have. You can get in Argos, Amazon etc for about £30 upwards. It absolutely blitzes everything inside.
