It's just DH and I. We usually have smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, with bagels and bucks fizz (we go visiting from mid-day - all in walking distance so no driving!).

Would like something different this year so looking for some ideas please 😋

Breakfast martini (espresso martini with thick marmalade garnish).

Annoyingly, as all your stuff sounds amazing, I don't eat breakfast, never have even as a kid, just the thought makes me a bit nauseous. I can maybe stretch to a posh coffee but that's it.

Same here! And as I’m the one who does all the cooking over Xmas and NY I opt for an easy breakfast on the morning itself. I get a ton of croissants, real butter and fancy jams, some pain au chocolates and Danish pastries. Fruit juices and really nice coffee. We usually have instant the rest of the year so it feels like a real treat and it’s just stuff I can put out on the table without any actual work 😂

Chambord and spice cake, with hot chocolate (or sometimes a Coke) on the side.

Might have to try that hot chocolate, maybe not xmas morning though

It was nice, but it was a bit too rich for Christmas morning! We did manage to find some actual Lindt hot chocolate powder that was nice and not as rich.

I just do some frozen/bake at home croissants from Iceland. Just chuck them in the oven and not too filling before dinner. Love the sound of these big fancy breakfasts though, I’d like to do something more extravagant when my kids are older.

Slice of toast and a few quality street. 😂 That's what I usually end up having as I run out of time and need to get ready to go over my Dad's.

Pancakes with mixed berries yogurt and honey

Pancakes with streaky bacon and maple syrup

Freshly squeezed fruit juice or smoothie.

Couple of gallons of coffee and an ounce of Golden Virginia.

MeAndMyGhost · 07/12/2025 04:34

Smoked salmon blinis to line the stomach, champagne cocktail (Poinsettia).

Happyasshaunthesheep · 07/12/2025 04:48

Poached egg bap with butter & tomato sauce.

Some of these sound amazing but we stick with croissants and pan au chocolat. We buy Sainsbury’s own brand frozen ones and just chuck them in the oven for 15 minutes once the present wrapping chaos is over with. Eaten while still warm with a French press coffee (us) or milkshake with squirty cream (kids).

Sometimes usually a Buck’s Fizz accompanies the adults croissants

Bacon sarnies for the teen boys and DH, ready to bake M&S almond and hazlenut croissants for me and DD (already in the freezer) washed down with Bucks Fizz. I suspect chocolate coins for the youngest.

Smoked salmon blinis around 12pm.
