Thread 12 - The one where it's All Pants (and socks)

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 25/11/2025 20:27

Levi's pants and socks, that is. It's also exactly a month until Christmas!

Also, I have to thank @FortnumsWeddingBreakfastTeaPlease for this quote, as it really tickled me: "Well it's not going to be the one where we found the fucking flamingo.
Honestly I'm starting to despise the stupid, elusive, constipated thing." Sadly, it was too long to make the thread title.

Hello folks and welcome to the ongoing Christmas Bargain threads, which are hosted annually by the Amazing Reastie. I'm just caretaking for now.

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.

Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

Thanks so much!

Puffalicious · 25/11/2025 20:37

Shiny, new thread, accompanying the shiny, new, bargain PS5 that arrived today thanks to these threads! 👍

VikingNorthUtsire · 25/11/2025 20:43

@watchuswreckthemic (fab username - my brain just shouted PSYCH! 😂) posted a Benefit deal at the bottom of the previous thread. I got the deal earlier in the month and can confirm the samples are a good size. Would be nice stocking fillers.

PumpkinSpicedTea · 25/11/2025 20:59

Right on last couple of gifts for adults I think. Any inspiration for management please - someone who loves baths and pillow sprays?

keepincool · 25/11/2025 21:11

@MamaClausToTheRescue, I'd quite like a Papier referral code to please. The one on the referrals thread isn't working.

TheBigFish · 25/11/2025 21:16

Does anyone have any ideas for bargainous ways to hang a map that is 100cm x 89cm please? One of the Marvellous Maps that were recommended on a previous thread would make the perfect present for someone we know, but I cannot find a frame/poster hanger that doesn't cost way more than the map itself and it's taking it out of budget. I feel like gifting the map rolled up won't be as nice. Thank you

Wickedd · 25/11/2025 21:18

Thanks for the new thread!

Past years those magnetic tiles have been discussed- has anyone seen a bargain on any that have been trialled and work well?

Thank you

TeamToeBeans · 25/11/2025 21:21

@TheBigFishAt that size, I would think the cheapest and most lightweight way would be to make a wooden frame like the ones canvases are on, and somehow attach the map to it. Depends if the map has any edge that could be sacrificed for glueing / stapling. Or if making a frame isn’t possible, find an existing canvas that could be repurposed?

Might this work? Or something similar?

The Essence Vault are doing buy one get one free for Black Friday. The smallest they do is 5ml sample for £4.99, could make a good cracker filler!

Magnetic poster hangers? You can get 100cm wide ones and larger on temu, at that weight I'd glue them in though. You can also get plastic poster tube hanger things, for pounds for either :) I use these to hang my seasonal (halloween/xmas/year round) posters and then I can roll them up when not in use.

Edit - exactly like @VikingNorthUtsire link for the magnetic ones :)

Some good deals to be had on croc website especially with a blue light card.

I ordered kids size leopard crocs for £22.99 then added smiley world charms for £15.99 and used bluelight to bring the charms down to £8.99 plus free delivery.

TheGirlWhoLived · 25/11/2025 21:46

That does indeed look like sherbet… I am sad to say we owned him a couple of years back but now he languishes in a tip somewhere singing ‘oh I gotta go, oh I gotta go!’

if anyone spots Kpop Demon Funko Pops when real life shopping, please let me know! I can’t seem to get any online that will arrive for Christmas, and it’s a Santa request! They have some at a premium price on Vinted but ideally I’d like to pay RRP.

TheGirlWhoLived · 25/11/2025 21:24

@PumpkinSpicedTea the ThisWorks deep sleep pillow spray is my absolute favourite! Amazon have the spray for £15 here a fiver cheaper than boots, or you can get a little set with a roll on ‘no stress’ oil for £20

Thank you. I think I'll go for it!

CalliopePlantain · 25/11/2025 22:00

Thank you! Two votes for This Works means I'll get something from them.
