Thread 12 - The one where it's All Pants (and socks)

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 25/11/2025 20:27

Levi's pants and socks, that is. It's also exactly a month until Christmas!

Also, I have to thank @FortnumsWeddingBreakfastTeaPlease for this quote, as it really tickled me: "Well it's not going to be the one where we found the fucking flamingo.
Honestly I'm starting to despise the stupid, elusive, constipated thing." Sadly, it was too long to make the thread title.

Hello folks and welcome to the ongoing Christmas Bargain threads, which are hosted annually by the Amazing Reastie. I'm just caretaking for now.

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.

Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

Mines shows as on track for tomorrow (same day I was told originally). When I went into my orders there was a link to track the shipping with DPD so maybe check in there as it is likely just the courier rather than Amazon

Mine doesn't show as dispatched yet.

mumonthehill · 26/11/2025 11:43

Virgin experience days has quite a few good deals including a police interceptor driving experience for £25. 14 locations

nothingtoseehereatall · 26/11/2025 11:44

Thanks to however mentioned The Ordinary sale (for me, not pressies ;)

Can i ask probably a dumb question? I've never had a credit card. (Or at least I think I may have decades ago but can't remember). I'm tempted to do as someone posted earlier and apply for the Amazon one which promises a £40 gift voucher if you get accepted, which I'd use for the Switch 2. Is there any down side to this? TBH I'll never ever use it so I am not worried about the APR which I'm sure is terrible, and it says there are no fees - so it's more general, like is it a bad idea to apply for a card generally?

hugsandpugs · 26/11/2025 11:47

Just been looking for new school trainers for teen DS and seen these bargain adidas ones on Amazon in black for £13.50. Lots of sizes available ^^

Asos do a tall range with some nice PJs. They come up big so do size down. I'm a large 12 and I wear 8-10 in these. They've got some good offers on at the moment as well.

@Cuwins DD's elephant. Worth noting that elephant tracking is delayed by 4 months to protect them from poachers, so it's not a live location.

That’s really helpful, can you zoom in on that map to see more detail? Yes the delay makes sense and I don’t think that would bother my mum.

With credit cards as long as you pay the balance off fully each month then you wont owe any interest, if its purchases anyway. Some cards offer cash advances, as in, you can use the card to withdraw cash at an ATM, and I think that they charge interest immediately, but you'd have to read the small print on that one.

If you can trust yourself not to run up a lot of debt then they are great, as they offer offer cashback, or vouchers like you say, but unfortunately many people rely on them to pay for holidays or Christmas etc and end up owing interest that way

Yes you can zoom in. It's like Google Earth but not as high resolution but you can still get close enough to see roads, buildings, etc.

I added a jacket to my basket but didn’t check out and they sent me a £10 off voucher a few days later

Did they?! I spend a lot with them & I've never had one! Order just there was £270 & I've also got another 2 items in my basket ready for DS1 to make a decision, yet still nothing sent. Bah.

It was me who shared the original link, only as their prices are so keen (esp Didrikson's), as they don't tend to do offers.

I may just need to send a firmly worded email 😅
