What do I actually want for Christmas?!

I have no idea what I want for Christmas. Clothing I want I will buy for myself. Currently trying to lose weight so don’t want any “big” items and I prefer my own choices and style.
DH is quite particular/choosy with things we buy for the house, I love kitch and lots of mismatched things and he’s very much a minimalist! We need new carpets but that’s not exactly a Christmas present,
Have plenty of coats, scarves, boots and shoes and bags etc. Lots of books from previous birthdays/Xmas I haven’t read yet. Have various memberships for places to visit such as zoo, National Trust etc with DS 3.
What are you all putting on your Christmas lists when you have everything you feel you need right now?

How about theatre tickets or a voucher for hair/nails etc,? You could ask for a spa day and either go together/with a friend or just sack everyone off and just treat yourself (maybe take a book from the TBR pile)

aperolspritzbasicbitch · 21/11/2025 21:33

I’m hoping for a KitchenAid, so my list is really just a sentence.

Ordinarily I may ask for vouchers for my favourite beauty salon, perfume/expensive skin care/make up that I might not be able to justify buying myself.

last year I got a led face mask, if that floats your boat?

SemmaLina · 21/11/2025 21:38

Oops ! Rubbish link , sorry

shellyleppard · 21/11/2025 21:39

Lego bird of paradise botanicals set or the Himeji castle. Bird of paradise is now retired and going for silly money....sigh

WeepingAngelInTheTardis · 21/11/2025 21:41

nothing, ill get no presents for christmas. I say sack everyone off and treat yourself.

On my wish list is a new hairdryer (as mine is about to expire, I fear!) - maybe a Shark or a Dyson, something fancier than the cheapo ones I seem to replace every year.
Also would love a new coffee machine, one of the new Echo Shows for the kitchen, proper Ugg slippers, new PJs and some skincare - lots of great gift sets in Boots and again I only every buy myself whatever is on special offer.
I’d also love a voucher to get my nails done properly.
Previous gifts I’ve loved are a hot chocolate maker, linen bedlinen, plants/trees for the garden.

Thats definitely a wish list rather than a ‘going to get’ list - and most are ‘upgrades’ to things I have that are need of replacing so would be appreciated and used!

My trouble is I can only think of things that are too small or too big. I'd love a marzipan bar from lidl, or a kayak.

I think DH and I might get ourselves an airfryer for main present.

pizzaHeart · 21/11/2025 22:09

I woukd like lots of chocolate, tickets, voucher for an afternoon tea for a local place and weekend away.
I would get chocolates and theatre tickets.

Nothing. If I wanted it, I would have bought it myself ! Gah, I'm like this every year.

Literally me. I’m a borderline shopaholic and I buy great gifts for everyone especially my nieces and nephews. I know that I am particularly difficult to buy for because I’ll either get it myself or I have it or better already. For me the absolute joy of Christmas is in the giving and the months of buying in the lead up to it all.

PermanentTemporary · 21/11/2025 22:22

Coffee machine (will get)
Voucher for Rigby and Peller appointment (won’t get)
Scented bar soap (will get I hope)

My go tos are bottles of cava or champagne, a voucher for a massage, plus I have an Amazon wish list that is 90% books.

horseplay12 · 21/11/2025 22:29

I have asked for really exciting things - a kitchen knife set, bath towels, kitchen bin! Personally for me, I need a new smallish handbag, wireless headphones for the gym and a good decent drinks bottle.
i prefer practical gifts unless I totally trust the person gifting (ie only my DSis - no-one else ever quite gets it right)

This!
plus, despite me having a couple of very obvious hobbies, drinking wine, enjoying good food - both cooking and eating out, my family are incapable of buying my something without me specifying exactly what I’d like, by which time I might as well just click on the “buy now” button!

Lesina · 21/11/2025 22:49

If you need nothing or want anything why not ask your family to make a donation to a charity?

ResusciAnnie · 21/11/2025 22:57

Doc martens

Labret earrings

Tunisian crochet hook

good mug with my initial on

good reusable takeaway coffee cup

upholstery course

Massage vouchers

eternity ring 😁

I love buying for people, but there's nothing I want myself. I hate random 'stuff', but want to allow people to shop for me if they wish.

It has to be things I genuinely want where I can give someone free rein to choose it, rather than saying 'buy me this specific thing'.

On my list so far I only have a silk pillowcase. Need inspiration.

cannyvalley · 21/11/2025 23:26

Voucher for massage at the place I like. Specific beauty items like perfume. Posh chocolate or booze.

ABeerInTheSunshineMakesMeHappy · 22/11/2025 00:00

My Christmas list is a voucher for a spa day, some L’occitane almond body crème, chocolates, mini liqueurs, an adult paint by numbers, a cross stitch set and a magazine subscription. Links to specific items on the family WhatsApp!

I totally get this. And would also love both a Lidl marzipan bar and a kayak. A sea kayak. Fantasy present.

Jugendstiel · 22/11/2025 00:08

Depending on the budget, you might need a cashmere sweater OP. There are three on my wish list from Lilysilk but DH and I are doing small presents this year as we are saving up for a holiday, so they'll stay on the wish list.

Or a new pair of boots - from hiking boots and wellies to leather city walking boots or heeled evening boots. There must be a pair of boots you could hint at.

Do you wear perfume? A bottle of your favourite scent is good.

I'd love some new mugs. Ours are all quite boring now.

If you like the Lego botanicals, you might like the Lego Icons kingfisher. It goes really well with my botanicals on display.

BuffaloCauliflower · 22/11/2025 00:33

I’d like a Roberts Revival radio (in yellow, for the kitchen)

hellsbells99 · 22/11/2025 01:05

My DH is buying me new walking boots.
