Hello folks and welcome to the ongoing Christmas Bargain threads, which are hosted annually by the Amazing Reastie. I'm just caretaking for now.

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.

Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

I skipped past the Fahlo bracelet mentions as I assumed they were suitable for children but I’ve just seen something about adults also loving them. So please tell me if you think it’s ok to buy for my 25 year old dd and what were the offer codes. Thanks!

@HalfasleepChrisintheMorning , I saw TKMaxx have some Real Techniques brushes.. not as cheap as the haul ones though

DD has asked for a Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour wand. Has anyone seen any discounts please?

Not what you asked for but a pp had mentioned that there was a free CT Beauty Light Wand worth £30 with Elle Magazine this month.

Sturmundcalm · 21/11/2025 18:27

Someone asked about shortbread on previous thread. Just wanted to recommend Chrystal's shortbread.

They are local to me but are sold nationally. We normally just get a box (which comes with individual layers wrapped so you can space out the consumption) but they also do a gift tin.

😮I wish MN had a shocked react option, because I would use it probably every day!

They tried getting a new bathroom on Victoria Plumb as well! Luckily my card people contacted me to ask if it was me spending at those two places and, after I picked myself up off the floor, I said No definitely not! 😳 (£1000 at Lindt though!!! I wonder what they were buying!!)

I haven’t researched anything yet, but DS1 is at college studying professional cookery. He’d really like a deep fat fryer (apparently a pan of oil and a wire basket won’t cut it). Obviously as it’s a household appliance he doesn’t want it for Christmas, but his 18th birthday is two days before so…
Any thoughts as to the best place to get a good one - not huge as our kitchen is full of gadgets!

I've had the Tefal one which was good. Its easy to filter the oil out. On offer at Amazon at the moment. There's also a Morphy Richards filter one that gets good reviews

Oh I've just noticed this thread! I've posted this in S&B but it might make more sense here.
I’m planning to send all my nieces a piece of jewellery this year. They’re aged between 19 and 26, and there are five of them, so I’m hoping to make the most of Black Friday discounts. I’m looking for decent quality necklaces, ideally initial ones. Budget is around £30 each, but I’d prefer buying something that’s been reduced from a much higher original price so that the quality is better (not to make it look like I spent more). Any recommendations?

Abbott Lyon have 2 4 1 at the moment

Straysocks · 21/11/2025 18:58

Would appreciate recommendations for Raspberry Pi items. I am calling them items because I don't know what they are! I have a very techy teen who has not long discovered this. The sort of teen who needs a soldering extractor fan. An Idiots Guide To ... would be much appreciated.

Does anyone have an argos discount code they aren't going to use please? Our hoover just broke and its such a big outlay at this time of year! :(

Have you tried Direct Vacuums? They sell 'refurbished' vacuums at big discounts.
When DSIL worked for Black & Decker refurbished meant it didn't work when it came off the production line so was repaired.
They come with a 12 month guarantee and free delivery.
Bought one for my sister two years ago and she has been very happy!

Callipygion · 21/11/2025 19:25

Has anyone tried one of these Mystery Guides? It popped up on my Facebook feed and looks good, but is it? They’re £20.
I am desperately scrabbling in the dark to buy something for my son & daughter-in-law and am wondering about one of these!

I've bought for myself (48) and my sister (51) 🤣 they do look really nice and you can choose the colour beads. I've also got one for my dd and chose purple beads as that's her fav colour.

Ewock · 21/11/2025 19:28

Sorry the code a pp put on here was BUYFIVE to get 5 bracelets for £45 & they are £13.95 each so a fab bargain.

I second the Nikura recommendation - I have 2 misti's now, both purchased on offer, and the 'designer' oil scents are amazing. The Snow Pixie one is lovely for this time of year. I prefer the Nikura scents to my Neom ones.

There's also a blue light discount

Arregaithel · 21/11/2025 19:34

My brother bought 2 for my kids and we’ve not used them- I can go and have a look at them if you like?

SpamIAm · 21/11/2025 19:37

@Callipygion haven’t tried those ones but we’ve used Treasure Trails quite a few times and found them good fun.

Puffalicious · 21/11/2025 19:51

Okay,

PS5 hunter here. They have the disc with Fortnite on Very & Smyths.

Would I get another 20% signing up for Very? I have an account already, but DP could open one with his email? If so this would be amazing!

What's the Smyth's offer?

Thanks!

Thank you. I will get one. I vaguely remember the chat earlier about which animals move around and are more fun to track but can’t recall which ones were favoured. Do you happen to have a penguin and would you recommend it?

PearlTeapot · 21/11/2025 19:56

@ISimplyDontBelieveIT Abbot Lyon, definitely. I've got quite a few pieces now that I wear every day (earrings, huge earrings and a necklace I never take off) that have never tarnished.

Hi Paris. I have. Regatta one that is excellent. My kids wanted one each so I got them in summer from online home store. They were so cheap by comparison but honestly brilliant!

I bought DS (adult) a Regatta one from Amazon at the beginning of this year. Paid about £52 but just looked and they're almost £10 cheaper.
Used mainly as a long, waterproof coat for the walk from the station to work, rather than a changing robe.

PearlTeapot · 21/11/2025 19:57

There is the cutest little lego set reduced to £13.50 on Amazon today. They're little plants but (imo) look like jellycats!

Can anyone talk to me about dryrobes or their cheaper equivalents? My kids have all decided they would like them but given how much stuff we lose at sports I am very reluctant to spend over £100 on them!!

Ive got a regatta one and its just as good, the dry robes are longer on the legs though. Keeps me lovely and warm on the football pitch on a Saturday morning @PersisFord

I got my 9yr old these for his birthday this year, he loves them. They are so cute, I wish they did more!
