RainbowZebraWarrior · 21/11/2025 10:39

Hello folks and welcome to the ongoing Christmas Bargain threads, which are hosted annually by the Amazing Reastie. I'm just caretaking for now.

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.

Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

@nothingtoseehereatall sorry about your mum. Sheepskin mat is a great idea . I’ve previously bought Stanley bottles for gifts during various hospital recovery periods x

The Real Techniques make up brush set is currently £2.36 on Amazon Haul. £10 off £20 spend.

Does anyone think Haul will do 70% off for Black Friday? Got my eye on a lot and can only do 1 order with current offer.

HouseWithASeaView · 21/11/2025 13:29

TodayTix have just launched their Black Friday deal so anyone looking for theatre tickets might want to check them out.
@nothingtoseehereatallyou can get remote control clickers for Kindles which turn the page for you and you can also get gooseneck holders for them. This means you can set the Kindle up so you
don’t have to hold it and can turn the page without having to swipe.

Sorry if already posted - catching up.

Arran Aromatics is 11.9% on Topcashback plus they have listed a 20% off site-wide code. ARRAN20OFF

Lovely handcare, candles, toiletries gift sets.

@nothingtoseehereatall if you did go for a Stanley they're on Anthropologie at the moment, so coming up at £34.50 for a Quencher and £26.25 for an Aerolight Transit which are good prices. There's also a small amount of cashback available in TCB.

Returning to the happiest corner of MN for another request for advice please! I received such great advice when I asked about Thomas the tank engine trains for DS 😍 I hope some of you will oblige me again!

I need to buy a gift for DNiece, she’s coming up to 5 now and I’ve been told she likes Barbies. (She’s a lovely little girl, but we don’t see her very often unfortunately).

I’ve seen some good deals in the BF sales and am thinking of getting her either a Barbie vet play set or Barbie Skipper babysitter play set. The vet play set comes with some little animals and accessories and the babysitter play set comes with Barbie baby dolls and a cot etc. Anybody with DC a similar age - what do you think they’d prefer, or are neither very good ideas?? Any better suggestions or good deals spotted? I also saw a Barbie scientist play set but I fear thats appealing to me through my adult & slightly geeky eyes and she might not actually like it quite as much 😂

Thanks in advance to anybody that has any suggestions ❤️

I think either the vets or the skipper babysitter would be good. DD is 4.5 and I recently got her a couple of the babies and she really likes them. Can't quite work out how to wipe the bums etc. so a bit older sounds ideal.

My DD is a little older at 6 but also likes Barbie. I'd love her to choose the scientist but unfortunately I think you're right and that appeals to us more. My DD would love both of those other sets though so I'd just pick the cheapest. She generally wants any that have animals or babies. Lots of little accessories would also make her more excited when she received it, though she would inevitably loose most of them!

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior ! I am loving these threads so much - relative newcomer to them and I tend to look during the day and not during weekend. I need to employ a thread butler to track those busy periods for me ;)

Thanks to Camel I got a Kindle yesterday from Amazon. Not a Xmas present but for my mum who has just been diagnosed with cancer. It's a bit niche I know but with her about to undergo weeks and weeks of chemo, if anyone has any suggestions for Xmas presents that might give be appropriate let me know.

Meanwhile I have given up hope that there will be any discounts on Switch 2 so browsing TopCashBack in the hope I can get it somewhere which will offer a bit back.

Lastly, by way of only offering so far today, lots of Rolife book books are reduced on Amazon. Not a huge reduction but this is a lovely kit for teens

@nothingtoseehereatall A hydrating facial mist went down really well with a good friend when she was having treatment. Hospitals can be either too hot or quite cold (there doesn’t seem to be a happy medium!) and she found her skin was really drying out after hours getting chemo.

mumonthehill · 21/11/2025 13:59

the eternity after shave arrived! Absolute bargain.

@stepfordwifey sorry about your mum and hope the next few weeks are as easy as possible on her. Someone put me on to the website Not Another Bunch of Flowers when my mam was having chemo. I'm pretty sure it was started just with gift ideas for people with cancer but it looks like they have all kinds of gifts now.. anyway the link takes you to the special section. They look like gift boxes only but a browse of the contents might give you an idea of things you could pick up elsewhere. My mam liked ginger sweets as they stop you feeling as sick with the chemo.

They were started for people who had just had a baby weren't they? Saw something the founder posted on LinkedIn. Looks like a lovely business.

I've found Elizabeth Arden to be fantastic for sensitive skin which tends to come with treatment and hospitals so might be worth a look. There's a face cream for £8 on Amazon at the moment.

lookonthebrightside0 · 21/11/2025 14:14

I’ve recently had chemo and the things that were useful for me were a fluffy blanket, aveeno dry skin oil and handcream, ginger biscuits, an endless supply of magazines as I tended to flick rather than read as I was too restless or sleepy. I also found these pastilles really good for dry mouth. I also had an artificial saliva spray also from Amazon.

Salivix dry mouth pastilles 50 pack : Amazon.co.uk: Health & Personal Care

Salivix dry mouth pastilles use a natural formula with ingredients like xylitol and calcium lactate to stimulate saliva production and relieve occasional dry mouth.

Lol at the bean advent calendar. The scout shop had bean hoodies in their sale. Only giant size left but my son loves a massive hoodie

crumpetwithcheese · 21/11/2025 14:46

Does anyone have a H&M discount code I could possibly use please? 😃 my BLC has expired and it defeats the point paying for a new one 🤣

TIA!

Ughy · 21/11/2025 14:56

Thank you @VeruccaSalty - I can confirm that I bought pretty much everything the Scout shop had to offer last year when the Heinz partnership was announced 😂

MrsMattSantos · 21/11/2025 15:37

@crumpetwithcheese if you sign up for H&M membership - which is free - they do members days quite frequently with 15% off
