Hello folks and welcome to the ongoing Christmas Bargain threads, which are hosted annually by the Amazing Reastie. I'm just caretaking for now.

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.

Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

Can anyone recommend a good (ideally not stupidly expensive) online shop for unusual/imported ingredients please? Spices, pastes etc

I have bought SIL a cookbook that relies a lot on ingredients that aren't in the average UK supermarket, and I'd like to pair it with some jars and packets of the required things. It's a mishmash of different cuisines so hoping for a one stop shop rather than shopping around different regional suppliers (one shipping fee hopefully!)

@VikingNorthUtsire Ocado is usually good for random ingredients, and you can do your grocery shopping too 😂
Useful way to get next-day/ two day shipping if they have decently priced slots available.

They’re always offering good introductory discounts if you haven’t used them before.

Any ideas for cheap large Xmas crackers please? Doesn’t matter about contents as I snip the ribbon and fill them myself. I resent paying above £10 a box for them.

@Arregaithelthis is the rug - that’s very kind of you - I’ve looked at other sites but can’t see it so happy for you to have a look for me!
im looking at the £125 sized rug

This is a bit cheaper. Not familiar with the website through.

Arna Grey/Ochre Area Rug

Geometric blocks design, enhanced by hand carved detail in soft touch durable 100% polypropylene.

Waitrose currently have a half price Christmas event on. I got some 'fill your own' crackers last night for £4

The event ends on the 25th November

Lego insiders have good offers, just got £40 off the space shuttle transporter with a free gift and shipping. Still very expensive but would probably have bought it anyway so this deal is very much welcomed!

I got some from the Range, a box of 6 large luxury crackers that were reduced to £4 something because the box was a bit bashed but even at full price they were only £8, they had them in a few colours

noodledoodler · 23/11/2025 21:21

@kpfragglesrock thank you so much ☺️

If anyone is looking for bubble tea gifts, B&M has a few bits in that would be good to make your own hamper/gift box.

Bubble tea cup sets with ingredients to make 1 drink £4
4 pots of popping Boba £5
Boxes of pineapple tea bags 50p
Cans of bubble tea £1.25
Bubbleology kits £2.30
Pack of 10 Boba straws £1

Not my photos as I didn't think to take any until afterwards!

It turns out I may need to get an X box!
I haven’t got a clue about this.

No idea 🫣
Would anyone who knows about this please kindly tell me which one to buy and where’s the best price etc
Hopefully it’ll be on offer at Black Friday 🤞

I wget all my herbs / spices etc from the Spicery. I’m also fully addicted their ‘legend’ cookbook kits 😂

@Sux2buthen my dd (10) is very small and looking for one too. Lots of her friends got them last year and they just grab a bunch of it at the back and put a hair bobble into it to make it smaller, if that makes sense! I’m going to buy her the xxxs

DuckDuckDuckDuckGoose · 23/11/2025 21:33

Still need to buy for 15 yr old niece, budget £10-15. I have no idea what 15 year old girls would want this year, any help/suggestions very welcome, please.

Not a gift but still a bargain > If you subscribe to Paramount+, I received an email offering 50% off for an annual plan (£35.49) which is £2.95 a month, much better than the £7.99 a month we've been paying! You have to click through the email, the offer wasn't showing when I logged into my account.

Last year I got some from Home Bargains I can't remember the price but they wouldn't have been over £5. Waitrose also have their crackers half price and my mum got a box of full your own for £4 can't remember if there were 6 or 8 in the box

An Xbox series s is probably your best bet. All the games for it are downloaded so there’s no discs to insert. They sell them everywhere, Amazon, Argos, Very etc. I’ve seen them on offer on Amazon in the bf sale, but there may be better deals elsewhere

Dormouse1940 · 23/11/2025 21:43

Someone was asking about H&M recently?
Their Black Friday event starts tomorrow for 'members' (i think this might just mean people signed up to the emails)

RainbowPhilosophy · 23/11/2025 21:47

Does anyone have a refer a friend or other discount code for Freeman Hardy and Willis please? I tried the referral thread but couldn't find one. Thanks 🙂

I've posted in previous years, Tesco have a Clubcard Plus subscription where you pay £7.99 a month and get 10% off two shops each month to a maximum of £20 each. You also get 10% off Tesco Brands at any time (F&F clothes, Pro Cook, Fox & Ivy, Go Play etc). I usually max out my shops by stocking up on meat (for the freezer), wine and household items and just do top up shops for milk, fruit and veg in between.
If you haven't previously subscribed, you can get a month's free trial and it stacks with other offers too! eg wine on Clubcard price; buy 6 and save 25%, then save a further 10%. So an £8.50 bottle of Barefoot Merlot comes down to around £5.06 after all the discounts have been applied. It might help someone stretch their budget a bit further, even if you only take advantage of the free month 😁

In Scotland (not sure about elsewhere) the discount doesn’t apply to alcohol or gift cards unfortunately.

Members event was on today. It’s open to everyone tomorrow xx

Thanks for the cracker suggestions! You have given me inspiration. No Waitrose nearby but I’ll try the Range and B&M.

Riddle answer is " Cotton candy " for the £1 toothbrush. Some other offers too.

(I ordered Thursday night and it arrived today so quick postage too!)

Thanks for this!

FurForksSake · 23/11/2025 22:06

Hi shine secured. Reading the reviews they are mostly for the tooth whitening which isn’t surprising, most are crud. A fun toothbrush and toothpaste for £10 delivered is a good stocking filler.

Is this on the website? I'm logged in but can't see a black friday deal.
