My family have decided not to do presents this year, which makes sense, but is a bit sad after having always gone OTT before. I'm going to get myself a couple of things and not start using them until Christmas Day. But what? I can't think of anything I desperately need. I have bath stuff and chocolate that needs using already. I'm not interested in jewellery, clothes or makeup. I'm struggling to think of anything fun that will actually get used!

Anyway, what are you guys getting yourselves? Inspire me!

a couple of new knives!
a recipe book
digital weighing scales
oven gloves

Arlanymor · 20/11/2025 21:51

I'm going to get my hair restyled I think. And then take my new do out for a nice dinner.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 20/11/2025 21:51

A water flosser

if I had the money I would also have a bottle of perfume but that’s just not possible this year

we will probably buy a couple of mugs as we don’t have many.

It’s all about the kids this year though (and for the foreseeable)

toadstool32 · 22/11/2025 19:02

I’ve bought myself a luxe new coat . Dh and i spend max 40 on each other so they’re just token bits.

Moonlightfrog · 22/11/2025 19:15

I have bought myself…..
walking trousers
water proof coat (Black Friday deal)
walking socks
a pair of dungarees

I also do my own stocking (single parent) which will mainly contain my favourite snacks, some long socks, lush hand cream and a pizza cutter.

Last year I bought myself a garmin watch.

Most of my family don’t buy gifts. I do get a few small gifts from friends. I don’t have a dh or dp so I like to buy myself a few things.

ThumbTowers · 22/11/2025 19:53

Do you like craft activities e.g. you could get yourself a Lego set, a jigsaw puzzle, embroidery/needlefelt kit etc. I would get myself a few books plus something crafty.

Birdsongandsunshine · 22/11/2025 19:56

Treated myself in the Black Friday sale to some Liz Earle skin care I’ve been wanting for a while.
will keep it until Christmas to use it.

Birdsongandsunshine · 22/11/2025 19:57

I was going to ask about your hobbies, do you have any past times you could buy yourself some new equipment?

Tryingatleast · 22/11/2025 19:59

Tell them you want to do presents- some of them
might feel the same but don’t want to say anything

OSTMusTisNT · 22/11/2025 19:59

I would be happy with all the food, lots of cheese and a few bottles of wine. I wouldn't buy myself anything posh that ultimately goes down the plughole.

Nightlight8 · 22/11/2025 20:00

Neom has some lovely bits for a treat OP.

Mithrellas · 22/11/2025 20:04

I bought myself a gold honeybee pendant and necklace from Lucy Stopes Roe

I know you said you aren't into makeup, but what about some lovely skincare?

I treated myself to a set of Oil cleanser, toner, serum and moisturiser after a year breastfeeding and I was looking and feeling drab. I never did much more than a basic moisturiser before.

My skin has never been better and it's a little treat for me every morning and night.

Sweaty Betty gym wear. Upgrade from Decathlon.
Just realised I also need 4 new car tyres 🙄.

Catsknowbest · 22/11/2025 20:11

Baileys..in quantity 🥃😅

luckylavender · 22/11/2025 20:13

I would always treat myself to books. This year I also fancy a Uniqlo puffer jacket and some Levi’s.

If you have a blue light card, I saved loads on my tyres with kwikfit!

This doesn't count, really, but I look forward to my favourite shops doing sales from boxing day, and I usually find something I like then.

OnionBudgie · 22/11/2025 20:45

Lots of books which I'm excited to read.
Some twisty puzzles, as I've recently restarted my cubing hobby.
A Tamagotchi to add to my collection (because I'm a nerd).

happytobemrsg · 22/11/2025 21:08

The only surprise gifts for me this year will be from DH so I don’t have high hopes (I love him but he actually bought me an extension lead one year). Ive bought myself a couple of gifts I won’t use til Christmas - magazine subscription ( Grazia!) & the Downton Abbey DVD (not seen it yet 😬)

I like that idea!! Every year I try to put away money for the Black Friday sales for myself but I’ve never managed it

AlexaBeQuiet · 22/11/2025 21:16

Aspinal Handbag No. 5 in my collection

citychick · 22/11/2025 21:17

@toadstool32
Thank you for that...I have been meaning to sign up for a Blue light card...appreciate the heads up!

SconehengeRevenge · 22/11/2025 22:01

I've discovered pj's.
Which i don't wear to bed, but like to wear of an evening.
So those!

@IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour water flossers are crap!

FusionChefGeoff · 23/11/2025 00:29

The most joy inducing red Kitchen Aid kettle. I’ve listed after it since staying in a VERY fancy hotel with work and it was a bargain for Black Friday
