Ooh what have you chosen? I've gone for a navy and pink theme this year. Navy with a row of houses, and pink with silver stars. They look great together. Haven't chosen ribbon yet though

Sounds fab! I’ve gone for a thick Kraft type paper. Mix of red, brown and green bows and ribbon. Lovely to wrap with.

I don’t have a theme, I have about 20 different rolls that I usually buy in the sales. And I just lucky dip them out of the box and move it to the side when used and start the process again. No aesthetics in this house. I use specific wrapping papers for kids stocking and presents, everyone else is getting a mix 😂

Mines from a mix of places. B&M , Next , The works, Aldi. Asda have some lovely paper this year and TK maxx, My mum always gets hers from Studio and Sainsbury’s have lovely wrapping paper too. Also there is bumper roles at Costco ( you can search the rolls on Amazon by typing Kirkland wrapping paper in). They are double sided and you get lots. For more premium/ unusual paper you could try papertreenook.com they have lots of lovely stuff.

I like traditional dark green paper. Its becoming more and more difficult to find.

I always use brown parcel paper and decorate with ribbons. The kids potato pronto some
for granny and grandad and I use holly or fir for prevents for people I see on the day.

Chanelo · 20/11/2025 06:22

I bought some thick off white paper from Cox & Cox. Paired it with a thick ribbon and tree decoration.

I have craft paper style with white stars which I got from Dunelm (I think) in the sales, have just finished up three rolls of that so the last of the gifts will be in tiny robins on craft paper from the Sophie Allport sale (think its still in stock) and then with a lot of wide christmassy coloured ribbon (dunelm again) with a big bow and some boozy lollipops/candy canes tucked underneath.

Christmas week birthdays are in Anthroology wrapping paper from various sale years as they have some lovely deep jewel colours with silly patterns which are good for the time of year but dont feel Christmassy as such!

Shopping sale wrapping paper is my boxing day weakness, Most years I actually wrap in tissue paper and jute or tote bags but this year I decided I had to use up some of my previous 'bargains' because the wrapping paper bag is out of control 😂

Mydadsbirthday · 20/11/2025 08:45

Love yours OP. I have loads left from Costco from last year. It seems to last forever! I love that it's double sided.

totallytotallytoal · 20/11/2025 10:19

I absolutely LOVE wrapping and decorating Christmas gifts, but the cost of lovely paper, presents toppers, ribbons etc all very quickly adds up. Just been looking at Cox&Cox and it's around £10 a roll. I just cannot justify that unfortunately.

I have seen no paper I like in any of the main high street type stores .. Next/M&S ..nit looked at JL yet. .. where is everyone buying their paper from this year ?

@MummytoBoth where is your paper from ? it is lovely and I love the red paired with it ❤

longtompot · 20/11/2025 12:30

I usually use brown parcel paper and buy lovely ribbons which can be reused. My kids save them for me every year. I have various widths and colours, mainly white and a deep or bright blue, with some orange, silver, gold and purple ones thrown in.
I have bought some nice paper in the past from Homesense (TK Max) and Lidl did some really good value paper with some nice designs.
I have been keeping an eye on the RSPB website as they have some gorgeous paper

Onefortheroad25 · 20/11/2025 12:35

Tk Maxx have really nice wrapping paper.

sansou · 20/11/2025 14:39

I stocked up in the Jan sales when Waitrose marked their rolls down to 20p. It would have been rude not to! When Paperchase still had shops, I used to wait until they marked down to at least 75% off - those were the days!

Not started yet as I’m waiting for it to arrive but this year I have ordered a load of vintage sheet music of Christmas carols from Etsy and I’ll be wrapping my presents in that. Teaching myself to do a proper bow this year as well and I’ve bought 3 jewel toned ribbons.

Moonlightfrog · 20/11/2025 16:13

Love this thread.

I haven’t started wrapping yet, I have bought paper from tk max and Ocado but will also get some brown paper. TK max had a good selection when I was there last week, they also had lots of lovely labels but I spent far too long trying to match labels to paper.

Did this with dark red paper before. Tartan ribbon and a tree decoration. It looked so pretty.

CrushingOnRubies · 20/11/2025 19:47

I have a roll left over from Cascade. Brown paper with Christmas pictures on it.

I love wrapping Christmas presents too. I’ve not started yet this year. These were last years presents. I usually re-use a lot of they’d and I have rolls of paper left from previous years. I tend to have similar colours rather than matching. I’m a bit of a maximalist. Photo in my parents house.
