Can we have a thread for presents for husbands?

Just that really, looking for inspiration and I've found these kind of threads super helpful before! Husbands who don't really need/want anything but you'd like to get them something lovely and thoughtful anyway!

Previous successes have been: Swiss Army knife, really nice belt, really nice hat (we're in Australia so an Akubra), entire wheel of cheese (this worked as we had a big party so it was 'his' but would all get eaten!), Toyo Japanese toolbox for his car tools, sous vide wand.

Looking forward to hearing ideas!

Ah today I have pretty much finished dh.
He will get socks pants jumper and pjs
But his main gift is a years worth of dates. One for each month.
tickets to local theatre, comedy tickets, booking for a restaurant, particular walk we’ve talked about doing.
Some expense up front but almost like a booklet of promises.
I know he will love it.

My husband has helpfully broken his 'every day' watch, so I am replacing that, I've also got him a hoody, and I am getting this thing for doing straight lines on wood. He will probably use it once or twice, but he loves a clever gadget and its not expensive. We only do little presents between ourselves, so I'm probably not much help.

We always buy each other something to look forward to - comedy/gig tickets or a weekend away. Then I usually get him a record (he collects vinyl) and his favourite aftershave.

Ah that’s cute you do him a stocking ☺️

ChubbyPuffling · 19/11/2025 20:48

A Holzkern wristband (bracelet) made of wood and steel, and Molton Brown refill for his shower gel pump.

My husband spends a lot of time in the garden, so got him these https://mud-dogs.com/products/mud-dogs-unisex-rutland-short-black

He also spends a lot of time of YouTube watching apocalypse videos, and wants to start prepping in case it kicks off… so I’ve bought some stupid prepping stuff and tins of beans… stuff like that.

Yes, he’s batshit.

Maybeishouldcrochet · 19/11/2025 20:57

Mine enjoys gardening lots and will happily stay in the garden all day in summer finding jobs to do so I have bought him some secateurs and a gardening knife ( called the “Hori hori pro”) from a company called Niwaki:

Tickets for theatre and comedy are booked.
table for January date is booked.
aside from that there are 5 months not booked as we haven’t sorted out summer holiday and we have a wedding in September but date isn’t fixed yet.

A trip to Islay, with some distillery tours and whiskey tastings.
The man needs nothing, so focussing on experiences is the thing to do IMO

DH got me the Hori hori and it is really useful! One of my favourite presents.
Maybe some tool oil to keep the blade clean and oiled?

LasVegass · 19/11/2025 21:28

I’m looking for some books for DH.

@DeedlessIndeedThat’s good to know, I have heard good reports about them so think he’ll be pleased. It’s his birthday in February so thought I could continue the theme and get him the oil, leather case, sharpening stone etc then. Can’t use all the present ideas in one go 😂!

Mydadsbirthday · 19/11/2025 22:44

My DH loves making pizza so I have got him a personalised wooden pizza board. We don't do gifts for the sake of it so I got it because he actually needs one to serve his pizza on, he just uses an old chopping board atm.

Kickinthenostalgia · 19/11/2025 22:57

got DP
adidas zip up hoody
nike dn8 trainers
adidas shorts
bath bombs
lindt chocolates
a book he asked for
waiting for a tshirt he likes to come back in stock
don’t seem like as much as usual but it’s all bloody expensive stuff

BlueWorkDay · 19/11/2025 23:00

DH and I have decided we own too much stuff, so we're reducing the mumber of gifts this year.

We've got each other a bottle of perfume/aftershave (Byredo Sunday Cologne for him, Byredo Pulp for me), and an iPad between us that well use to control smart devices and music in the house, I've also got him some Molton Brown shower gel that he likes.

And that's it, neither of us can face introducing bunches of new stuff to the house.

OrangesCinammonIvy · 19/11/2025 23:10

@Maybeishouldcrochet mine is also can you recommend a website please or anything stand out. Already got running sock

Cece92 · 19/11/2025 23:13

I’ve got my other half the Dior savauge after shave his tan out and it’s his fave but for 20% off woo. I got him a perfect draft keg machine again on sale and got an extra £20 off woooo! A mixture of red bull cans, a book and I might now do him a stocking as per the idea from above. He is such an amazing man and treats me and my DD so well. Really runs around after me DD and his 2 girls lol so he deserves some nice gifts. He never asks for anything ever. Xx

Marble10 · 19/11/2025 23:22

Mine has a wool jumper, chanel body wash, slippers and a plant.

PigeonsandSquirrels · 20/11/2025 00:16

I want to get him a Richard Ham Emma Bridgewater mug, a garden knife with measurements and some lovely new darts.

CalliopePlantain · 20/11/2025 00:27

Lego, Lego, some Lego and then a small Lego set.

StruggleFlourish · 20/11/2025 01:31

Sadly, my DH has passed away, so I haven't been buying any Christmas presents for a significant other in a few years.
But I used to shop all year for him. We were not materialistic; we did not care about brand name clothing or the newest electronic, or things like that. We didn't spend money just for the purpose of having more stuff to unwrap, but tried to make our gifts meaningful. Quality and thoughtfulness over quantity.

I like to give practical gifts. Really nice luxury warm socks, a emergency survival kit to put into the car, a new fire extinguisher. Yeah I know, I know. Not very exciting right? But practical.

But sometimes I also just buy things that I think he would find fun. I got him some toys from when he was young (like Lionel or marx trains); he was a big kid at heart, and also loved mechanical banks (even if they were modern reproductions of antiques) and clockwork/windup toys especially tintype ones.

I would make him a calendar, a personalized one. One year the theme was lovely photographs from our weekly nature walks. One year was pictures of our family and pets. And one year I went racy and did a lingerie type selection of photos and surprised him with that!!

jenny38 · 20/11/2025 07:42

I've got my husband a patagonia bag, t shirts and some thermal and waterproof trousers that are everyday trousers (regatta in sale geo ii I think they called. I will buy him a kindle book- try to find a new author for him to discover.
