What are you getting your DH?

I'm a bit stumped this year. He works away, very hard and stressful. Will be back for a week probably and will want to relax, so travelling to an airB&B somewhere will not be suitable (one of my ideas, a night away, silly becuase he will just want to be at home).

I thought of hiring a hot-tub, but don't fancy the possible sex pond germs. I could book a spa day and massage, that might be a nice thing to do. We try to do experiences now instead of 'things' if we can.

I will book a restaurant, but probably for NYE, he wants home cooking when he's back and I don't want to eat out too much anyway.

He's got a dressing gown, some nice PJ's might be an option though.

He doesn't want to eat too much treat-y stuff, he wants to keep it quite healthy so chocolates and fudge etc is out. There is a particular sweet that is his favourite so I will get those for his stocking, and some chocolate coins, and a toblerone always goes in there too.

I think I've answered my question, I will do a spa day, some nice pj's to put on when back home and see what other nice homey things I can plan.
What are you getting yours?

OH not DH but not a clue!! Keep hoping he'll drop some hints but so far nothing.

Irememberwhenitwasallfieldsroundhere · 17/11/2025 17:29

Tom Ford aftershave
Dinner reservation at a restaurant he wants to try
A couple of books
2 nights away at a hotel we love, with dinner both nights
Some whisky

MissyB1 · 17/11/2025 17:30

Mine has asked for a food processor (yes boring but he wants it!) and I know there’s a rugby shirt he would like so I will get that too. The kids are getting him the new Jamie Oliver recipe book and his favourite shower gel and deodorant (man cave).

CharityShopMensGlasses · 17/11/2025 17:33

A giant pepper grinder
A pasta making class
Craft beer..
And a couple of little naighty treats for when we are naked.

TiredMummma · 17/11/2025 22:50

Why would you husband have a stocking and PJs - that sounds like a child? Does he do a stocking for you? Just sounds so bizarre for an adult. Go with a fancy meal and a spa day

Why wouldn't you do a stocking for your spouse? DH and I do them, ds brings his in to us, DH makes coffee and we open them on our bed with Christmas music on. It's for all of the little bits, I've not started this year yet but last year in his stocking he got a book he wanted, a lush bubble bar he likes, some nice coffee, good chocolate, a new pair of gloves for when he's cycling (not the lycra clad kind) and some other bits and pieces. Surely you can comprehend that adults can like small presents too?

Georgiepud · 17/11/2025 23:07

A pasta making machine, though as CharityShopMensGlasses mentioned, a pasta making course might be a good idea too.

Gettingbysomehow · 17/11/2025 23:09

I don't have a DH currently but Im getting my stepfather a Barbour man bag cross body.

TokenGinger · 17/11/2025 23:26

Ugg slippers
Ninja Thirsti cup
Tom Ford aftershave
Docking station to charge his phone, watch and air pods
Cheap air pods (because he loses them often)
Tickets to a comedy
Tom Ford aftershave
A new wireless headset for work

His birthday is two weeks before Christmas so those gifts will be split between both occasions.

Eh? Me and my husband only do stockings for each other. We want for nothing and buy what we want when we want it so stockings are all we need. Our 4 year old loves that we have a stocking each and it gives us a few small things to open on the day.

My husband couldn’t give a shit about a spa day. His stocking will have his favourite dark chocolates, a selection of mini hot sauces, a cinema voucher, a mini Lego set (something for him to do with our son really), and a T shirt.

Can’t see the problem with a new set of pyjamas either.

persisted · 17/11/2025 23:38

A fancy cooking knife and a book about photography he’s mentioned.

sparkleghost · 17/11/2025 23:40

I got my DH decent tickets for the Foo Fighters gig next summer. We missed them at Old Trafford as I miscarried & haemorrhaged the night before 😣 so hoping to replace those fairly gnarly memories with nice ones! I’ll no doubt get him some nice stocking fillers and treats too. He’s quite nerdy so always get plenty of mileage out of Star Wars, LOTR & the like paraphernalia! Last year I made him & a couple of friends mango & lime scotch bonnet hot sauce from scratch which went down a treat so will probably do something similar again this year too.

Loving seeing all the other ideas here!

JDM625 · 17/11/2025 23:42

So far- I have absolutely no idea. Place marking as going to bed, but shall have a think and contribute tomorrow.

Oooh the ninja thirsti cup is a great idea! Might have to copy that one, am always nagging him to drink more!

HeddaGarbled · 17/11/2025 23:46

Malt whiskey, books, a Mancave gift set and some nice marmalade.

Ummmm, everyone in this house gets a stocking, even the 70 year old. Didn't realise it was unusual!

Swissmeringue · 18/11/2025 00:46

DH travels a lot for work and we've started travelling more as a family now the kids are old enough to properly enjoy it. So I'm getting him a new luggage set for Christmas. I'm not 100% sure but I think he's getting me a kayak. He got me a paddle board for my birthday and I pretty much always use it with the kayak seat on because I've always got at least 1 kid on there with me. So one that can take both kids would be fun.

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 18/11/2025 01:10

A jumper, no idea of brand was £20 in summer sales and 2 pairs of boxers and if I can find one a dark chocolate Terrys chocolate orange, he dosnt need or want anything else.

AquaShark · 18/11/2025 07:35

For main presents we now club together and get tickets to show in London. We do buy stocking presents to open on the day.
So far I have got him books, t shirts, chocolates, slippers. I feel i need some other bits so will peruse everyone elses answers for ideas

It’s not unusual. It wouldn’t be Christmas without a Stockton! There’s a huge thread on stocking fillers for adults which proves it’s not that unusual!

We are exactly the same, we all have presonalised stockings (well sacks really 🤣)
I do my husband's, he does mine and we both do our son's.
One of the things I love is the familiarity (oh yes there's the satsuma and the choc orange) mixed in with some surprises.

Newmum738 · 18/11/2025 07:41

We did a pottery taster for our anniversary and he really enjoyed so I’ve been looking at something similar. My DH likes cooking classes. Tickets are always a good shout and then smaller bits and bobs like a book, socks, chocolate orange etc.

NoNewClothes · 18/11/2025 07:46

Stockings are the best part of Christmas morning! I’d forgo actual wrapped gifts over a stocking.

Gig/concert tickets are pretty standard birthday & Christmas gifts between DH & I.

Rounder888 · 18/11/2025 09:36

A new nice fleece (wore his other expensive one doing diy and the sawdust can’t be shifted), new aftershave, usual new undies and some nice socks, some new gym shorts, and probably some whiskey from the babies 😂

RestitutionGranted · 18/11/2025 09:37

A knife sharpener and a wind up radio in case of electricity failure 😂

he’s a practical chap
