If you’ve had a prelit tree for a few years…

Where is it from? We had an M&S one a few years back & the lights broke the second year so half the tree lit up and the other half didn’t! Ended up binning it.
We’ve had real trees since but I’d like an artificial one again. Please recommend any you have that are still going strong!

We got one in the John Lewis post Christmas sale. It was ex display and has been going strong for about 5 years

sueelleker · 16/11/2025 09:52

I've got a Balsam Hill. Got it in one of their sales about 10 years ago, and it's till going strong.

RedDiamond · 16/11/2025 09:54

My B&Q one is going very strong and still looking brilliant after 15 years.

Justbecauseyoucandoesntmeanyoushould · 16/11/2025 09:55

Got a WeRChristmas one from amazon 10 years ago. Still working perfectly.

Cluckycluck · 16/11/2025 09:59

I opted not to get one as there are always reviews saying the lights stopped working.

I know that with Balsam Hill you can buy replacement lights if they stop working but they can take months and months to arrive.

I have two non-lit BH trees and they are lovely but my favourite is my White Stores one for less than half the price. They do pre-lit ones so worth taking a look at them

Peridot1 · 16/11/2025 10:01

We have a Balsalm Hill one for about 8 years now and fingers crossed it’s still ok. Bought another one in the sale last year for the living room so hopefully that will be ok too. I don’t think we opened it to check.

Thenamechangecometh · 16/11/2025 10:01

Has anyone used ChristmasTreeWorld?

TeacherHelp · 16/11/2025 10:02

Another vote for Balsam Hill- expensive but worth it.

therewasafishinthepercolator · 16/11/2025 10:03

Homebase. But I think they are no more so not very helpful.

Homebase here as well and still going strong ten years later

Balloonhearts · 16/11/2025 10:05

I have a home bargains one that's on year 5 and still perfect.

Bjorkdidit · 16/11/2025 10:11

We have an Argos one that has to be 15-20 years old, still works. I did have to repair the power cable one year when one of the cats chewed it, but still going strong.

Cherrybomb00 · 16/11/2025 10:28

Christmas Tree World, still going strong and looks fabulous

GameOfJones · 16/11/2025 10:44

Notcutts Garden Centres. They're online as well as in physical stores. We've had ours for 10 years and it's still going strong.

winnieanddaisy · 16/11/2025 13:27

Ours is from Costco. It’s at least 10 years old and hopefully will still be going strong this year .

harriethoyle · 16/11/2025 13:47

Another vote for Balsam Hill - we have two and they’re good as new after 5-6 years

IndieRocknRoll · 16/11/2025 17:57

Thanks all, I will check out the BH ones (though I know they are £££ so will need to work on DH 😭)
will also look at white stores & Christmas tree world.

Same here, ours is about 8 years old. I hope I haven’t jinxed it now!

CatsorDogsrule · 16/11/2025 18:28

Tesco, also 15- 20 years old. It was half price in the sale back when they had Tesco Direct. Such a bargain.

MissRainbowBrite · 16/11/2025 18:53

A Tesco one here, it’s on its 9th Christmas and still going strong. It’s a 6ft one and was about £60.

lizardwithsocks · 16/11/2025 18:55

Asda. Pre lit and with fake snow.

CoastalCalm · 16/11/2025 19:01

Ours is M&S and had no issues

ShodAndShadySenators · 16/11/2025 22:49

Ours is John Lewis and the lights did stop working after a few years. I think it could be fixed but we just ignore the built in lights and put on additional ones, which do tend to vary. It's irritating in a way because I bought it hoping the lights-faff would be a thing of the past, but no. But it's also a blessing as I realise I do like having a different look each year. I have coloured sets and one that is three shades of gold which I might use this year. But who knows

tinyspiny · 16/11/2025 23:41

Our oldest BH tree is 10+ and still going strong , the other is 7/8 and also fine .
