I've done a master plan of meal planning, shopping list for food for Christmas eve day and boxing day. Present list and Christmas card list.

I opened my Cookery Year book (yes, OK, very 1970s but DOES have everything you want it need recipe wise) in order to stick it in for future reference.

I found a timeline of Christmas Day my late father had written including when to put turkey in, time to open presents etc.

My father must have written it in the 70s-80s. He died when I was 11 but I guess my pedantry comes from him. I don't have many memories of him but this was lovely.

Gorgeous, and lovely you have found it.

That’s so lovely! It’ll be like he’s helped to plan your Christmas this year if you follow some of his timings.

Mudandsleep · 15/11/2025 07:25

That’s really lovely, how happy he would be to think of you finding that now as you plan Christmas for your family.

My dad used to plan that also and meticulous write down ,put turkey in ,pits.
Wonderful note to have found 😍🌲

Id probably frame that and have it in kitchen as part of Xmas kitchen decor.

Next year I’d do Christmas on his timeline! A lovely thing to have found

That’s lovely.

id preserve it somehow because paper is frail.

My mum wrote me her boiled fruitcake recipe and since she died I have it non an ikea clear ziplock bag as its something she has written but the paper is so oil stained I’m afraid it’ll deteriorate.

I did that with my grandma's Christmas cake recipe. This lady embroidered it in grandma"s handwriting and everyone cried it was so beautiful

This. Put it in the kitchen so it feels like he’s with you as you prepare Christmas dinner 🥰
