I’ve started collecting stuff. I bought a hot chocolate ‘bomb’ that has marshmallows in the centre when it melts. Usually put a couple of tangerines in too. Also bought really nice slipper socks but thinking they might be better as a small stand alone present with the bigger stuff.

pizzaHeart · 22/10/2025 09:35

Mini power bank, coffee shop card, one of these shopping cards, some of her favorite skincare products especially if mini version is possible, small bottles of alcohol, small box of chocolates, socks, make up accessories, gloves, so basically whatever fits in the stocking.
I put a silk pillowcase once.

TenGreatFatSquirrels · 22/10/2025 10:00

Colourful pens, pastel highlighters, fun phone case, lip balms, coffee shots (they’re Italian known as pocket coffee), apple voucher for apps, nail care kit.

I have two daughters of a similar age - both students, I always buy them their favourite Mascara, Micellar water, some kind of body spray - this year they both have Sabrina Carpenter, and a Sundae shower foam - a little expensive but a nice treat. All of these will be used and save them money in the long run as they won't need to buy them. Last year I also put an Elnett hairspray in too.

I also put in a Chocolate Orange, choc coins and something fun, so this year I've got them both a MiniVerse lifestyle ball thing, last year was different UNO card games, a little childish but something to do on Christmas Day, I've also splashed out and got them each a JellyCat tree decoration to put in the top.

TKMAXX is a good place to look, they have lots of unusual/quirky things that are generally good value.

Silk/satin hair bands, nice face wash and cashmere blend socks (you can pick these up in primark for a fiver) also go down well. Also Tweezerman tweezers - to stop them stealing mine!

I find that you can end up spending an awful lot of money on stockings, so I try to make sure that the majority of the things I put in are consumables that will definitely be used, with a few funny little bits that the girls won't be expecting.

Shryykjrg · 22/10/2025 13:58

Mine is 20 but have followed the same formula for a few years now.

Chocolate orange
Christmas Haribo
mini cocktail can
face masks
razor blades
shower gel
conditioner
pants
socks
charger cable
something silly (she’s always losing her keys so this year it’s a giant inflatable keyring)
Always a pound coin, chocolate coins, a satsuma and a tree decoration and a Lindt Santa peeking out the top.

Mostly consumables and useful things but as a student she appreciates not having to buy them herself!

In the past I’ve also put in perfume, a power bank, a book, stationery, jewellery… whatever she needs as long as it’s within budget and fits!

Travel sized hand cream and almond shower oil from L'Occitaine. I have given them to men and women of all ages and they have wished for full size bottles the next year.

Chafing · 22/10/2025 14:06

Mine have got a folding umbrella, a mini bottle of Bailey's, a silly toy (this year it's an animal that shoots soft balls), a chocolate santa, socks, a coffee shop card, I sometimes put in blind bags from tv programmes from when they were younger - Bob the Builder blind bags were a huge hit, lol. Nice soap or shower gel. Unisex perfume. Coasters. A tree decoration.

I will have a 19 year old at Christmas. Male not female but stocking will involve usual sweets and satsumas plus probably some new slipper socks and maybe a decent charging cable. My dc all still get a small Lego set in their stocking. Major tradition but gets harder and harder to get something in the £10-£15 range! Sometimes I use my points from buying presents to get the little exclusive insider sets. All the teenagers still come sit on our bed first thing to open stockings and then sit on the floor by the bed and make their stocking sets! Tradition comes from when they were little putting something in here to hold them off big presents until grandparents arrived.

I digress. A book or 2, a Lego set, sweets and food (pop tarts are popular) plus some form of novelty thing. Job done.

I spotted some small fresh breath mint sprays near the till in M&S for a pound and got a couple of those for stockings.

Yes, whatever not? My adult DC and dgc have big stockings not tiny little ones.

Have you tried the scrunchie with a zip so that you can keep things like your key in there? Smile

Where do you get pocket coffee from ( assuming you’re UK based! )
I love it but have never found in uk
