Where do you get pocket coffee from ( assuming you’re UK based! )
I love it but have never found in uk

You can get them on Amazon - for a price!

Also, the things I have for my 19 year old's stocking so far are

mini flower press
scratch card
cocktail in a can
mini nail polish
a tiny teddy
some nice pants

I only have boys to buy for. Had a wander around TKMaxx earlier and there were tons of great stocking fillers for late teen girls!! I’m jealous I’ll have to wait till I get DILs to indulge in buying all of the things 😂

My now adult children love things that have already been suggested but they really love the childish things as well. They all want the fortune telling fish, all want those daft puzzles where you have to move the tiles around to make picture and the ones you have to tilt to get the ball in the hole.

Yes boys are much harder aren’t they?
Mine usually gets toiletries, pants, socks, phone cables, weird flavour crisps, jelly bean roulette, and then a couple of other bits. Past ideas have been shin pads, thumb grips for controllers, chalk for a pool cue, a whistle when he became a referee, a copy of the Highway Code when he was 17, a bright keyring torch, tools when he started his apprenticeship, a set of darts, a shot glass…

My mum has continued our Christmas stockings into adulthood. She buys all our toiletries - nothing expensive, just things like make up remover, deodorant, cotton pads / buds etc. It might seem naff but let me tell you that is the gift that keeps giving when you don’t have to buy any toiletries for the first few months of the year. Throw in some novelty fluffy socks for good measure.

Have you tried the scrunchie with a zip so that you can keep things like your key in there? Smile

No but that sounds really cool,

My 19yr old daughter who is student will turn 20yrs at christmas but for stocking usually out in: deodorant spray, shower gel, socks, tube of sweets, couple hot chocolate sachet, pack of pens. So mainly things that will be useful and cheap

Mumofyellows · 25/10/2025 08:54

As others have said, stuff she would usually have to buy herself to give her a good little stock up for uni and then some nice extras. My daughter is 22 and I do her a hamper now instead of a stocking but the same principle!
This year will be…
cans of cocktails
mini prosecco
socks - fluffy ones
nice shower gel
lush bath bomb
candle
pens
stickers for kids (PGCE student!)
note pad
face masks
hair masks
under eye patches
hair bands
clips
mini toiletries for her new year trip away with her friends
Face wipes
lip balm
micellar water
chocolate coins
box of Lindt
fun keyring (last year it was a “fuck the patriarchy” one - she’s a swiftie)
sweets

I saw the idea on here of putting a scratch card in older teens stockings so that’s on my list this year. Plus a lot of what has already been suggested. My almost 18 yr old has actually asked for useful bits she uses like face wash, hair cream, mascara etc. to save her buying them. I usually put a few nice bits in too like a lush bath bomb or shampoo bar. She loves the lush room sprays so might add one of those and then sweets and a chocolate orange and a Lindt reindeer are traditional in our house.
I think DS (25) will be a bit harder but last year I added guitar strings and guitar pics as well as the usual socks, useful toiletries and edibles and they went down well if that’s helpful for anyone!

As someone else said, TKMaxx (and Home Sense), are great for stocking fillers.

For student DD I buy things from there that she'll use, like nice bar soaps or hand soaps, coffee syrups, drinking chocolate, herbs and spices kits (bought a taco one that came with a nice wooden spatula), a grinder with seasoning blend in, room diffuser, notebooks etc.

The reduced section in the kitchenware section can be good as it will often have random nice glasses, bowls or kitchen utensils.

sansou · 07/11/2025 21:23

For DD(18), I have bought a small bottle of Tesco’s face cleanser for £1.50. TKMaxx had reduced pouches of Filibet’s mixed nuts for £1.80 & olives for 70p with expiry dates for next spring - ideal size. I’ve browsed recusable face cleansing pads and Primark seems to be a good source. I was contemplating making/sewing some from old face cloths but I don’t think it’s worth my while. However, I have made some new stockings with my fabric hoard accumulated pre Covid years. 3 down and 1 left to go! Now that I am working a 4 day week, I cram a lot in my non working day.

Whipped soap
lip scrub
facemask
fluffy socks
bodymist
choc coins
wax melts
shower steamers
handcream
tanning mit
silk scarf or bonnet to sleep in
micellar water

Boxfreshrussell · 10/11/2025 21:09

Other ideas that I don’t think have been suggested
iso make up brush cleaner (it’s a solid soap you rub your brush onto)
non crease hair clips
hair turban for drying hair
silver body glitter (flying tiger) at Uni there seem to be so many fancy dress parties and this comes in handy
Glitter ball light you plug into your phone
LED candles (safer than real candles that often aren’t allowed in halls)
