This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

£30 off £60, £50 off £100 and £100 off £200 at la redoute home https://www.laredoute.co.uk/winter-home-savings.aspx (they have their normal 40% off most things with code XMAS too)

Body shop have 50% off almond, mango or rose medium collection sets with LYBCGIFT (I doubt that's account specific but haven't checked)

and 1SUT gets £5 upwards off spends over £30 - it increases as you spend more (again doesn't look account specific)

Thank you for the body shop info - just wondering if anyone knows if young adults like body shop I have some girls in their early 20's to buy for?

munchbunch12 · 29/10/2025 19:29

@MaggieSansoni thanks for the tip off about Sol De Janeiro at Boots. I treated me and DD to some goodies earlier. 😀

MaggieSansoni · 29/10/2025 19:54

@munchbunch12 You’re welcome. I treated myself and bought some presents to put aside.

the 20 somethings I know like bodyshop stuff but it falls into nice not amazing, its not going to offend though I don't think! From those three probably almond as I think Mango is for dry skin. Not rose unless you know they like it.

hugsandpugs · 29/10/2025 20:05

I’m still on the fence about the Sol de Janeiro stuff…. It’s such a bargain but having never tried the stuff I’m still undecided 🤣 I have far too many tabs open of with baskets of things I’m considering off the back off this thread

keepincool · 29/10/2025 20:07

If anyone is looking for festive fragrance discs similar to the neom stones, Next have these sets for £12 each, with a little fragrance spray included. They're nice as they are or could be split up and gifted with some oils.

DS loves these, I find them thin but fine rather than flimsy. I get the relaxed cuff ones as he hates socks with a passion

Same, these are the only socks I can get DS to wear. They are lovely and soft and the loose fit means there is no drama about putting them on. They really have made life so much easier here.

I get these for school socks, the grey last better than the white, they aren't thick so don't last that long, but it's worth it as there are no more tears and tantrums about putting socks on in the morning.

2025istheyeari · 29/10/2025 20:16

I’ve had some bam socks my husband bought for me last year ( I have an issue with seams!) and they’ve unfortunately not lasted well at all. Maybe just me, but they’re not cheap so thought I should give my experience!

My 2 daughters use it, it smells quite nice too.

Know what you mean, I do that too! Re SDJ, I've never bought it before, but me and DD tried some of the creams at an airport Duty Free store in the summer so I knew we liked the fragrances. I probably wouldn't have bought them otherwise.

Thank you for all your great tips too @hugsandpugs I'm sure I've bought some great items you've recommended!

Sock shop bamboo socks are the only ones my sensory sensitive DD2 can wear. They don’t last ages but they are cheap. however what I discovered recently after buying them for the last 8 years (!) is that there is a mid weight version on the website as well as the normal ones which won’t wear out quite as quickly… DD will only sometimes wear them but might be good for some other children, wish I’d known about them earlier as a couple of years ago she would have been more open to them I think.

Moonlightfrog · 29/10/2025 20:47

Just joining the thread….I have lost count of how many years I have been on these threads (possibly from the beginning).

I am looking for a good deal on an iPad for dd, not sure if it’s worth waiting until Black Friday or if anywhere like very are offering money back?

Also looking for a bird feeder with camera, possibly one that can be watched from a phone or iPad (WiFi).

officially started my Christmas shopping this week.

Is it mainly for teens? I’m 38 next month so wondering if I’m a bit old for it 😅

StrawberryThief1930 · 29/10/2025 20:57

thanks for the SDJ tips - i got 3 sets and the free bag.

for anyone who hasn't tried it, its quite fruity flavoured and very sweet. not my personal taste but popular with my tweens and also my adult sister (she likes lush snowfairy too so i think she'll like this).

Christmas shopping has officially started!

I'm in my 40s and like it, but they are sweet fragrances as @StrawberryThief1930 said, so it depends on if you like that sort of thing, or know someone who does!

😅 I'm 38 and have the yellow spray (🐑 bought because of these threads!) I do like the smell but don't love it, Rio Radiance I think it is. I personally feel it's more for teens than adults. I definitely wouldn't wear it for a night out (plus I like to be in bed by 9! 😁) I only really used it during the summer when I was going on beach walks with the dogs 🤣🙈

But then again, plenty here loved the Ariana Grande perfume that was mentioned last year and I wasn't keen on it at all so... Probably not much help 🤣

if I had to describe it, it's like a beach party vibe. I much prefer my DKNY Coconuts About Summer as a summer scent. I'll probably end up giving the SDJ to my niece actually, only just remembered I have it! 🙈

OrangutanCheeks · 29/10/2025 21:21

I’m teetering on the edge of buying loads of Wednesday lip balms for half price and the bargain SDJ deal … I’ve only got my own 10 year old to buy for though and my mums already got her some!

if anyone has a spare code for the £100 off PS5 I’d be so grateful x

Just had my Degusta advent calendar delivered in case anyone else ordered and is waiting for theirs , no email to say it was coming today , arrived by EVRI.

Mine arrived today as well - the QR code for contents doesn’t seem to link to a list anywhere?

Just based on this I’m gonna give them a try! I have a stressful time every morning with DD resulting in me running up and down the stairs several times to get different socks! 😅 I’ll do anything to make the mornings easier 🤞🤣

I think Bodyshop is very outdated with young adults. I know my friends 20yo dd likes Charlotte Tilbury and Summer Fridays lip glosses.

VikingNorthUtsire · 29/10/2025 21:46

I can't remember whether it was here or the adult stocking filler thread where someone had linked this cheese making kit. It's only a minor reduction in price, but down to £10 which seems like a good price for a gift - reviews are good
