This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

My fleece jacket order from Amazon just got cancelled....funnily enough the same are for sale still at a higher price!

Mine was cancelled too! Does anyone know of a suitable replacement? I heard there was a zip up fleece jacket but couldn't find it ...

Aldi and Lidl wooden toy sales are now on. I went early as last year Aldi was crazy busy, but it was much quieter this year so stock may be available longer.

hby9628 · 09/10/2025 12:35

@redjokerthose kits are cute. I’ll add it to the list of ideas for my daughter. Thank you

Definitely try the dedicated Facebook groups.
Also look for Islabike and squish - also good kids bikes. What size are you looking for?
Frog also selling "imperfect" bikes directly on their website - usually a minor paint issue, the will be mechanically sound - so worth looking on their too.

Yes that's what I'm trying now, I'm after a 44, ideally red or blue. Don't need it til Christmas so hoping I've still got time!

Lidl is always much quieter but one out of our two Aldis was 50% empty of stock by 9.30 this morning.

Has anyone heard anything or received their sunshine bindery orders yet? (From the super seconds sale). I randomly had a despatch email off them Sunday but with no tracking details and nothing has arrived yet so wondering what’s going on with it x

Doing a Stranger Things hamper for couple of male teenagers. George at Asda have some great Stranger things lounge pants half price (£7) and also B & M have Stranger Things sweets, candy and soda pop that I've added to the hamper. Putting the link for the lounge pants in case it can help anyone else. I got XS which was available at time of posting.

Not a bargain, but John Lewis has a deal where you get a free Lego Christmas sack with Lego orders over £75. Add the Lego and the sack to your basket and enter promo code LEGOGIFT75.

The sack is £10 to buy separately too if you’d rather just that.

IlovePond · 09/10/2025 13:59

To be fair @Theraffarian - they probably thought that was what I was after. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what they sent me, just there was too much green in two of my pictures to show any real contrast.

It was the block of the same colour that didn’t come out as well as the others. A sunset - with light against the dark would look lovely, I think.

I think I will do another order with some lighter/more contrasting pictures.

They are really good stocking fillers.

Justkeepsmilingx · 09/10/2025 14:06

I got the same, but I think there was a note on the website saying that they post all orders on their studio day which is Friday... so hopefully tracking information will be available tomorrow

PotofPens1 · 09/10/2025 14:31

I'm thinking about one of the £30 kids echo dots for my 7 year old, is there anything I need to know about them? I assume if I buy one now I can wait and start the subscription at Christmas?

hugsandpugs · 09/10/2025 14:52

My Xander Kostroma order just arrived! In love with the tote bag! Such great quality! 😍

SkinnyOatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 09/10/2025 14:54

Tesco have 1L Baileys for £14 and Terrys chocolate oranges for £1.

Merrow · 09/10/2025 15:29

Picked up a really nice toy toaster set and the wooden Cuthbert cake at Aldi today - obviously didn't have the wooden fridge that I was actually looking for! Seemed like a bigger selection than I saw online, but that might just be me being unobservant

Ehunt1 · 09/10/2025 16:45

I was pleasantly surprised by how well stocked both Lidl and Aldi were today when I went this afternoon after work,I managed to get everything I was looking for.
I’m extremely happy that I managed to get the hobby horse set, my kids loved playing with the Astrup hobby horses on holiday in Denmark, I was shocked at the price of them when I did a quick google search. So the Aldi one is perfect.

MaryGreenhill · 09/10/2025 17:15

Have priced up Lindt 200g cartons everywhere and the cheapest l found were in Home Bargains @£4.49.
They had the Pistachio ones there and the red ones but l didn't see any others .

Cos1970 · 09/10/2025 17:31

I had an email from Wowcher early with this Nintendo deal. If you use the code in the photo you can also get a further 10% off.

They had quite a few gaming deals on their website.

Another happy Rosemart shopper here! I ordered a photo christmas tree decoration and its great quality, love it, so thank you for sharing the recommendation.

On the subject of recommendations, has anyone any suggestions of reasonably priced art / craft kits for 14yr old dd? She's not a knitter / crocheter, but will give anything else a go. Just looking for something to get her off her bleeding phone 🙄

Have you tried kumihimo before? No idea of kits but you can pick up the individual components quote cheaply (some threads, a kumihimo disc and a weight).

starbright92 · 09/10/2025 10:39

Thanks for all the recommendations thus far.

Any suggestions for a nice/smart backpack for my brother in law? Something he can use for work. Thanks in advance.

What's the budget? Osprey do nice ones, but tricky to get for less than £50. Sports pursuit often have deals

YelenaBelova · 09/10/2025 19:39

The Xander kostroma order arrived and I am over the moon with it! I haven't opened all of the items as some of them will be gifts for xmas, but the items I have opened are such good quality! Thank you for the OP who shared the superseconds originally and the OP who recommended that particular seller. Fabulous!

ETA.. all items I purchased had the price tag of £1, I would have been willing to pay £20+ for some of them.

I've never even heard of this before but had a quick Google and it looks great! Thank you 😊

Looking to buy some dupe perfumes that last and smell amazing. One DD 27, the other 18 and I'm the wrong side of 50. Any recommendations gratefully received.
