This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

Oh I must be really dense but I never thought of doing that! What a great idea

Yeah I do it whenever it is an option as it is very easy to skip a delivery or just cancel completely. Saves a few pennies!

Looking at the Prime Day 20% off Yoto Mini. With the Mini, the jacket and a pack of 10 make your own cards, it's coming to £80. Do we think it's likely to drop any further, or is there a way to get a slightly better deal somehow?

No, but if you buy 1 month membership, thay discount stacked last year on top of the 20% off, and you got the card credit too. That's how I did it for 2 mini yotos.

Beautifulsunflowers · 08/10/2025 20:21

I’m looking to buy an iPad - currently £284 on Amazon prime - that’s 14% off
just wondering if people think it would be the same price or less on Black Friday?

MaybeItsJustTimeToStop · 08/10/2025 20:26

Is anyone else having problems checking out on haul?

Fireside10 · 08/10/2025 20:28

@juicyjellybabywhere do you find the mp3/mp4 content for your DS cards? My DS is only 4 and I want to ensure his stories are still relevant to him as he's getting drawn into the tv more with age but I struggle to find anything.

Thank you to whoever posted about the Tu 20% off that stacks with the 10%off blue light code. That’s 2 more presents ticked off, new stitch hooded blankets to replace the old well worn ones.

No problem, I only realised recently that they do the 10% so trying to spread the bargainous word!

Is anyone else having problems checking out on haul?

I had a nightmare earlier on today and got a text saying my order would be cancelled if I didn't try again. Took ages to process, but went through eventually. I then checked my other orders and noticed that a previous order had been cancelled. I wondered if it was because of the 50 x iron on patches that originally went through at 6p which seemed a ridiculous bargain and probably mispriced / over ordered.

I’ve checked out 2 quite big haul orders today one this morning and one this evening both went through without issues and showing ok on the app with delivery date

NancyCarey · 08/10/2025 20:55

I’m very glad everyone is liking the glasses cloths! I actually emailed the company owner the other day to apologise in case the additional demand had created any issues for them (small company) and the man was lovely and very appreciative of the boost for his small regional business. Nice to shop small and spread the word about economic impact of our shopping!

That’s lovely to know!! It’s so good when you hear our mass buying is helping someone and not swamping them!!

Hesma · 08/10/2025 21:19

FYI I popped in Sainsbury’s tonight and they have 20% of clothing

Sassy234 · 08/10/2025 21:20

Hey has anyone got any good stationery gift ideas for 8/9 year old girl

GeorgiePorge · 08/10/2025 21:23

Evening all
Looking for some recommendations please, on a few presents on my hit list;

  • Nice bubble baths - but not sets than include body wash/scrubs or butters
  • Alarm clocks for toddler/ 4 year olds...something with a nightlight and ideally something that tells them when it's still bed time (not yoto as we have the minis already) *Ant recommendations for a 13 year old boy around the £20 mark.

Many thanks,
And thanks for all the ideas so far...I haven't quietly shopping in the background!

Microwaveexpert · 08/10/2025 21:35

Hi everyone hopefully helpful to someone, was ordering birthday cards from card factory online and they have 3 for £5 on all personalised cards. Seems to include Christmas ones. Also 8 for £8 on their normal ones. Postage is cheap too or they offer click and collect now.

JellyRains · 08/10/2025 21:39

@GeorgiePorge cant beat a Groclock! Just checked, £23 on Amazon.

Bookblanketteaandsympathy · 08/10/2025 21:41

Dc2 wants a cast iron juicer (apparently tiktok says they're great). Would be mainly used for lemons as dc makes lemon curd regularly. Can anybody recommend a cheap one please?

ThatshallotBaby · 08/10/2025 21:41

Onemoret1me · 08/10/2025 21:42

I’m pretty certain I saw a 10% off code at dunelm but I just can’t see it anywhere now. Does anyone know what it was please? Thank you

Ehunt1 · 08/10/2025 21:49

Just a reminder that the wooden toys will be available in Lidl and Aldi tomorrow. I’ve got a long list of things I’d like to get. 🤞🏻I get some of it!

In Lidl it seems you get up to an extra 20% off with a Lidl plus card too

@gingerbreadmumm @FallingIntoAutumn I feel like I am becoming a frother nerd..... We also have the Lavazza and it is amazing and has the additional feature of cold as well as hot frothing. You won't know you need this in your life until you want to make cold chocolate or coffees in the summer!
However, the Lavazza doesn't cope with proper chocolate flakes as it blocks the small wiring frother. The true hot chocolate frothers have an additional system above this to stop the blocking (literally looks at about 15 frothers over the last two weeks!).
So, the current best ones (IMO) are the new Velvetiser (more costly) or potentially the Salter Chocolatier (recommended on here). I haven't used either and am currently dithering for my DD, who has just started Uni. She has just come home for the weekend and stated that she's really missing her hot chocolates (doesn't drink tea or coffee!) so I feel I need to just buy one!

Good advice. I only use miles hot chocolate powder (it’s fucking immense!) in ours so wouldn’t know on flakes!
